CHECK OUT THE TAXPAYER ADVOCATE ANNUAL REPORT

National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olsen annual report to congress (search-IRS 2014-3) urging the IRS to adopt a comprehensive Taxpayer Bill of Rights (she first suggested it along with her recommended suggestions in her 2011 report). She cites the ever increasing requests from taxpayers which is overwhelming her staff, in her report she that the IRS scandal regarding the treatment of non profit organizations has violated 8 of the 10 suggested rights that she recommended and were responded to 61percent of the100 million telephone calls from taxpayers seeking to speak with an IRS customer service representative. "taxpayer rights are central to voluntary compliance"-'if taxpayers believe they are treated, or can be treated in an arbitrary and capricious manner, they will mistrust the tax system and be less likely to comply with the laws voluntarily" "For the government, voluntary compliance is the cheapest, because enforced compliance requires to devote resources yo detecting and collecting amounts that are not voluntarily reported or paid"

The report cites a survey of U S taxpayer conducted in 2012 that found less than half of respondents believed they have rights before the IRS.

Personal note-how much would a fairer and more helpful save in the cost of maintaining the operation of the agency, How much in additional cost of the agency costing us because of the general governmental attitude that this administration is forcing on our populace?

We  the people can not afford to continue to blinded by extreme political rhetoric. How many members of our government believe that we can not think for ourselves and have to continuously be lied to so our government subvert our freedoms which have been guaranteed under our Constitution and Bill Of Rights
