M (Magnus Colorado?) and the Tradesman are naive to believe this:

"All these movements and many others have a commonality of purpose, wresting the power that was stolen from the people by the Elitists in Government and returning it to the people."

These are not movements. They are organizations that exist to exploit a niche market of frustrated people. They know what's best for you. You (plural) want someone else to do the real work needed to rein in your governments. And in the spirit of season, I'll say it our loud. You're lazy.

Until you're willing to stop jabbering (like on this site) and do it, all your talk will dissipate into oblivion.

What can one person do?

A lot.

On November 3rd, one person cut off a local school district from $208 million dollars in wasteful funding that would have cost taxpayers $485 million.

I took on this project, in great part, to prove my points (and to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak):

1. That you (singular) can change things.

2. That it takes hard work (not silver bullets).

3. That you don't need millions, thousands, hundreds, or even dozens of people to succeed. (You do need a realistic plan and perseverance.)

4. That you don't need millions, thousands, or even hundreds of dollars to succeed. (You do need to invest your time.)

It took me three months of daily effort to defeat the bond measure.

I started from nothing. The proponents had nearly $100,000 in cash on hand.

If you (plural) can't even control your local governments, what makes you think that you can do anything about the behemoth federal and state governments?

You're dreaming, because it's easier than facing reality. Until you face that reality, you haven't woken up. You're still taking the blue pill.

Now I'll return to my regularly scheduled project -- to replace the constitution and leadership of one or both of the major political parties, Precinct Project 2016 ( ).

Are any of you going to get to work? Or do you want to continue to debate while Rome burns?

You claim victory and I will point out that the money was just moved to another district.

The proof is that governments at all levels have increased spending over the inflation rate for 40 + years. the concept of budgeting used by government uses the base year number and then adds to that.

The only way to end this is to take the money from DC and that will send the lobbyist packing. The Federal Government will be limited again to Article I section 8 enumerated powers only.

Then the States will be forced to go to the voters in each State to solve the tax and spend problem and balance the books. The voters have done this as they wanted free stuff well there is no free stuff left.

I find no issue with your efforts and in fact we at the Article V library site have a complete outline with letters and how to organize down to the lowest election - then the people have real power?

No Magnus, property taxes don't get up and move from one district to another. That's one of those natural laws.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Ah, yes. Your 20-step program again. Alcoholics only need 12 to get the job done.

If you really wanted unity, why didn't you join one of the other organizations instead of starting your own? Because it's much more fun to play in your own sandbox instead of sharing? Or because only you are brilliant enough to have discovered the silver bullet?

Attacking a problem from the top down is a solution only Sisyphus could appreciate.

What a reply - where are you trying to go?

Property taxes can be redistricted, new lines can be drawn and are. New rates can happen. Federal and State money provide the money that moves and no school district I know of can live with out same.

You changed one district, 20 years ago all by myself I changed the entire State of Nevada gifted and challenged funding and how the money was being allocated. The Governor called me as he knew immediately when the Senators and the Congresswoman sent him my 6 page letter.

So, where do you get a 20 step idea? And it is not just my idea nor am I the only founder.

Don't take him too seriously Mangus, There are naysayers and contraries at every turn. they don't usually contribute ideas or speculations geared towards improving the conditions, they only have the wherewithal to try and tear down everything others are trying to do through snide comments and statements directed to detract from the person they are attacking's veracity or sanity. It most resembles the Democrats bullying/demonizing technique used against everyone who does not automatically bow down and totally agree with them

This topic was about unity. You're the ones who want people to bow down and agree with you. Unity, but only on your terms. Q.E.D.

I wasn't addressing proposals. But it seems that's where the topic has gone.

Jon Roland ( ) has been analyzing and writing about reforms for over 20 years. Why don't y'all unify around some of his proposals?

M and T (it's cooler to just use a letter) don't even have a resolution to put before a state legislature. Each of the three organizations that they trash have done that and have even had their resolutions adopted by some legislatures.

If you understand how any convention works, it doesn't just rubber stamp something. Proposals will be debated and changed. I suspect that's why CoS is not making the mistake of putting forth a specific set of proposals, just the category of proposals that are to be addressed by the convention.

You did not read the link did you?

There is a proposed Amendment that is only 20 words long and can Restore the States Rights and Powers, without Congress or a convention. The State Legislatures can do it all by themselves except for a single clerical function Congress "must" "SHALL" perform.

Propose a Twenty-eighth Amendment*

  1. The fourteenth, the sixteenth, and the seventeenth articles of amendment to the Constitution of the United States are hereby repealed.

    2.  The article shall be inoperative unless it, [Section 1]; shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the conventions in several states, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of submission hereof, to the States by the Congress.

Never follow somebody else's path; it doesn't work the same way twice for anyone... the path follows you and rolls up behind you as you walk, forcing the next person to find their own way.

J. Michael Straczynski

Hum, when did I say only on my terms. First the Article V site is not mine nor does it even accept donations, no it has no adds it is self funded by just a few.

Now I see that your is a money making endevor - hum, it is all about the money after all.

Hillary Clinton says she is “deluged” with requests to try another run for president and has still not completely ruled out joining the crowded field of 2020 Democrat candidates.

The former U.S. Secretary of State has repeatedly avoided categorically stepping out of the race for the White House – or directly into it, for that matter.

During media appearances in the UK last month, Clinton twice hinted she may make a belated push on the basis she claims so many people want to see her on the national stage once more.

Speaking on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show in London last Friday, Clinton confirmed she would “have to make up my mind really quickly” if she was going to join the race.

When pushed to respond if she would make a run for the White House for a third time, she prevaricated and avoided a direct reply, instead responding with: “As I say, never, never, never say never.”

She did concede she would need to make up her mind “really quickly” about whether or not to jump into the presidential race.

Clinton has already missed the filing deadline for the first primary in New Hampshire but there is no deadline for the next caucuses in Iowa in early February.

Responding to Norton, Clinton said she had been “deluged” over the last few weeks thinking about running again, but added that, “right now, I’m not, at all, planning that.”

Norton asked: “The rumour mill is flying that you could step back into the ring.”

Clinton replied: “I hear that. I have been deluged the last few weeks with thinking about doing that, but right now I’m not at all planning that.”

Last month Clinton told BBC Radio 5 Live she was under “enormous pressure” to consider a 2020 White House run.

When asked about her future in politics, Clinton said, “I feel a sense of responsibility partly because you know my name was on the ballot, I got more votes, but ended up losing to the current incumbent in the White House who I think is really undermining our democracy in very fundamental ways. And I want to retire him.”

When asked if she is absolutely ruling it out, Clinton said, “ I will certainly tell you. I’m under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it. But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans.”

Clinton and her daughter Chelsea, are currently in London promoting their new co-authored book – The Book Of Gutsy Women: Favourite Stories Of Courage And Resilience.
