There are few stand out Leaders anymore. Real men who are not afraid to voice their opinion without worrying about people will say about it. Washinton Politicians are more worried about bad press, or being left out of the cocktail circuit or their reelection than what is good for the country. I wrote this a year or so ago.
Where Have All the John Waynes Gone?
I had a dream the other night. I saw this tall fellow, broad of shoulder, well tanned and strong. He had a six gun strapped to his side and was astride a a handsome horse, one could tell was used to hard work. This fellow rode right up to the gate of the White House, just as bold as you please. A Secret Service Agent approached with his hand extended. The two shook hands and walked toward the gate. "Mind if I leave my horse here, son. I'll just be a minute"? "No problem sir," was the answer. "What about my gun", added the tall man? "No problem Mr. Wayne, if you can't be trusted, no one in this entire country can be; and by the way, thanks for coming, we really need you," The answer came back as a broad smile. "See you in a few minutes son", were his words as he headed for the steps of the gigantic White House. He opened the door and walked on plush blue carpeting until he saw a young marine standing at attention. "Hello son, I want to say thank you from our nation, and we are proud of you"! Thank you Mr. Wayne, I'm proud to have met you, you've been my hero since I was about five, in fact you're part of the reason I joined the Corps." Nodding toward the large ornate door, the man asked, "Is he in"? "Yes", the young warrior answered. With a hint of a knock, he opened the door and entered. Cont. -
