What Would You Be Willing To Do If The GOP Steals The Nomination?

The Tea Party Research Team predicted this! ...but what are you willing to do about it? Let the GOP get away with silencing the voice of the people?

Or are you willing to............?

Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

“The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “ Squawk Box ” on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

Haugland is one of 112 Republican delegates who are not required to cast their support for any one candidate because their states and territories don’t hold primaries or caucuses.

Even with Trump ’s huge projected delegate haul in four state primaries Tuesday, the odds are increasing the billionaire businessman may not ultimately get the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the GOP nomination before the convention.

This could lead to a brokered convention, in which unbound delegates, like Haugland, could play a significant swing role on the first ballot to choose a nominee.

Most delegates bound by their state’s primary or caucus results are only committed on the first ballot. If subsequent ballots are needed, virtually all of the delegates can vote any way they want, said Gary Emineth, another unbound delegate from North Dakota.

“It could introduce Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, or it could be the other candidates that have already been in the race and are now out of the race [such as] Mike Huckabee [or] Rick Santorum. All those people could eventually become candidates on the floor,” Emineth said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan , who decided not to run for the White House this year, said in a CNBC interview Tuesday he won’t categorically rule out accepting the GOP nomination if a deadlocked convention were to turn to him.

Democrats experienced the last true brokered presidential convention to go beyond the first ballot in 1952. Republicans came close at their 1976 convention.

“The rules haven’t kept up,” Haugland said. “The rules are still designed to have a political party choose its nominee at a convention. That’s just the way it is. I can’t help it. Don’t hate me because I love the rules.”

Haugland said he sent a letter to each campaign alerting them to a rule change he’s proposing, which would allow any candidate who earns at least one delegate during the nominating process to submit his or her name to be nominated at this summer’s convention.

If the GOP race continues at the same pace, Trump would likely have a plurality of delegates. So far, he’s more than halfway to the 1,237 magic number.

Trump split Tuesday’s winner-take-all primaries in Florida and Ohio.

The real estate mogul dominated in Florida over Sen. Marco Rubio , who dropped out of the race after losing his home state.

But Trump lost Ohio to the state’s governor, John Kasich . Trump also won Illinois and North Carolina. He held a slim lead over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in Missouri early Wednesday.

Emineth, also a former chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party, told “Squawk Box” in the same interview that he’s concerned about party officials pulling “some shenanigan.”

“You have groups of people who are going to try to take over the rules committee,” he warned. “[That] could totally change everything, and mess things up with the delegates. And people across the country will be very frustrated.”

“It’s important that the Republican National Committee has transparency on what they’re doing [on the rules] going into the convention and what happens in the convention,” he continued. That’s because of “all the votes that have been cast in caucuses and primaries. Don’t disenfranchise those voters. Because at the end of the day, our goal is to beat Hillary Clinton or whoever their [Democratic] nominee is in November.”

Emineth said he’s worried that frustration would discourage Americans in the general election from voting Republican.

The Tea Party is the largest movement in the history of America. What will the GOP do if 50 million+ Americans get really pissed off? .....just saying.

I would be willing to use my money to support violence if the GOP doesn,t play fair,

and let Trump be the nonminee.I can,t stand Trump, but I would support him. That would solve our delema.

You forgot O'bummer

We need to have a purging of the dc regime. Not only the insane/husssian/dcdespotic/oblamea, all of his minions that are working hard for him and under him. Congress is not doing their job, their inactions are endorsing hussie's tinpot dictator attitude. Sore ass's billions have rigged the oblamea elections, the dnc is evil and corrupt, and the gooops are no better.

Even than its not going to work, that's the reason why I believe that we are not going to see the election this year something tragic is going to happen

Yes, something bad is going to happen if people who took an oath to  Enforce, Preserve and Defend the Constitution and the United States from ALL ENEMIES both foreign and DOMESTIC DO NOT STEP UP TO THE PLATE.

Now, who will that be? I am not under such an oath any more, but if I had even a remote chance of getting a judge to look at the evidence and give me a Court Order to place Barack Hussein Obama under arrest for HIGH TREASON, violating his oath of office on many counts, being a citizen of Indonesia, Fraudulently declaring U. S. Natural Born status or any of the dozen or so more Major CRIMES against the United States he has committed and is daily continuing to commit, I would go personally to Washington, DC, and attempt to enter the White House to place him under arrest, but where do you think that would get me? Probably a hollow-point bullet through the brain and another through the heart.

But someone who has sufficient authority over a sufficient force of armed personnel to physically place handcuffs on the man and haul him off to jail or prison and whose appearance before a high-ranking judge or Supreme Court Justice would not result in laughter that a person like me might get for requesting an arrest warrant, but the actual warrant, itself, and then that high-ranking official with the support of the forces under his or her command actually march on the location where th FRAUD President and as peaceably as possible but with much force as necessary get him behind bars for his HIGH CRIMES. Do NOT be surprised to awaken one morning to the sounds of gunfire and when you turn on your radio or TV hear that: "You are NOT to go outside until further notice under penalty of death. Martial Law has been declared and the Constitution of the United States declared now null and void. Hereafter Sharia law will be strictly enforced."

You try to call a friend, but you can hear another person breathing and sense that someone is listening in to your call and wisely hang-up without saying anything. News starts coming fast and furious. All four Conservative Supreme Court justices including the Chief Justice have been arrested as enemies of the State. A list of Conservative "agitating" Senators and Representatives have also been arrested as enemies of the state. then lists of Governors who resisted the settling of illegal aliens and refugees from Muslim countries in their states have been arrested. Then Sheriffs and Police chiefs and Mayors who have resisted Commands and Executive ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT. MANY OF THESE RESISTD ARREST AND HAVE BEEN FATALLY SHOT."

Sickened by the news, you turn off your TV or radio, AND TRY TO THINK HOW YOU CAN SAVE YOUR FAMILY. BUT IT IS NOW FAR TOO LATE.

Oren, thank you for the link, I will follow up!

Oren,

Hello friend. In my many years I have never seen so much conniving in a political campaign.

Iam convinced that in addition to the proposed changes you have for a COS, that we MUST include a standard set of rules/ guidelines, for ALL federal elections. The fact that the two parties have SO much room to manuver (fix) the elections, completely eradicates the intention of having a government, "of the people, by the people and for the people". This current threat of a " brokered (fixed) convention is proof enough of the ability to high jack our government. In actuality, our government HAS been highjacked since Reagan. And now, once again, we have someone running for president who CAN NOT prove (and will not) his eligibility. Are we,because he is supposed to be a Constitutional "scholar" take his word for it ?

I personally find it hard to believe most of what this character says.

I think in the lucky event to hold a COS, that it should not be merely a broad brush effort, but rather a clean sweep of all rat holes and any opportunity to manipulate ANY situation. Period.

Lets remember the difference in the caliber of the people in the days of the founding versus what we are seeing today.

And there was no pot of gold to pilfer then as it is now.

The Primary System in our Electoral Process... is supposed to belong to the Citizens of these United States, not to the elites in a Political Party.  Our forefather's left England and Europe, too rid themselves of such insider politics, and the rancid stench of an Aristocracy, that used their exclusive powers to rule over the people.

Our Political Parties have become the corporate interests of a NEW AGE ARISTOCRACY... which is using its exclusive power to deny the people the right to effectively PARTICIPATE in the nomination of candidates for public office.

The corruption of the electoral process... has created a Congress and Administration, which has become disconnected from the People it is to represent. Both Political Parties have become elitist, the embodiment of everything our forefather's intended to avoid.

The Two Party Political System... has created a system that permits the political parties to effectively control who is placed on our ballots. Ever wonder why we must vote for the lesser of evils?   Wonder no more, the game is rigged.

One thing we definitely need to change is the PACs & Super PACs, comprised of Lobbyists, Special Interest groups & big donors, to sway the election.

They have spent $400+ MILLION trying to take down Trump.   A lot of their lies, BS & propaganda has worked on a lot of Americans, painting Trump as a bad guy, when in fact he only want to help our country out of the corrupt cesspool it has fallen into.

This is an example for just one state:

"One thing we definitely need to change is the PACs & Super PACs,"

Hello, Am1st.

Should billionaires be the only ones able to run for office?  Maybe Gates would like a run; rr Bloomberg; or some other liberal.

The fact is that it will resolve nothing as the actual PROBLEMS are still hanging over our heads. being held up by mere threads.

What genuinely NEEDS changing is the populace's self-serving-entitlement-mindset / pattern s of behavior.  Unless America FINDS its morals and principles - we WILL fall.  And it will be a HARD one!

Luis..

America should limit all elections to 90 Day campaigns... all elections should be funded by individual donations with caps on individual donations and total campaign expenditures by any one individual candidate... no PAC's or Corporate donors.  No foreign donations.  No out of State donors for State elections.

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
