We’re Very Close To A New Constitutional Convention – So Then What?

We are getting closer to what would be the greatest Constitutional shake-up in American history.

So far, 27 states have passed applications for a Constitutional convention for a balanced budget amendment. Nine other states are being targeted for the application. If seven of those nine pass an application, it would trigger the two-thirds rule and require Congress to call a convention.

Article V of the Constitution allows for a Constitutional convention if two-thirds of the states call for one. It would be the first time in American history a call to change the Constitution has come from the states rather than Congress.

Because the wording is vague, nobody knows yet how a convention would be held or how broad its scope would be.

The end result, though, is that any changes to the Constitution would need approval from three-quarters of all the states to be ratified.

Oren,

My state Legislators will not even listen to a word of this. I have tried since the beginning of the COS. My state reps and senators are really libs in repubs clothes. I am so frustrated with the whole idea of our congress being stitched up.

New Constitutional Convention... will start the biggest POWER GRAB in American History.

The power holders that we have now are not stupid and will not allow it to happen if there are any ways possible to stop it.

This will be the most dangerous happening in America and I don't doubt for a moment that there will be people who will be killed just so the ones in power will remain in power!!

If it is overseen by law enforcers who are pro-Constitutionalists then we may have a chance. If they are serving the existing power we will see major change for the worse.

This is my opinion!

Oren, I have done all I can do to make this happen for I see no other choice except war with the government.

Do I believe that there are no other ways to thwart our intentions? NO! I believe that they can come up with misapplied laws that would circumvent it or just prevent it. If I saw them as all law abiding and following the founding documents to the letter I would say YES, we have a very good chance of turning this around.

I have agonized over the position we find ourselves in. No one that I can see except the words Ted Cruz is saying that even cares about the situation. Congress and the Senate have done nothing and they do have options but are not using them.

All I can say is God willing we will be victorious in our efforts and regain the high ground after having our nose rubbed in the filth this government has set us in!

Am I discourage? Yes, anyone who doesn't live under a rock would be and while we wait we are buried under another load of like actions.

Barry

I'm afraid Barry is right Oren:

"Alexander Hamilton acted as an agent of the Rothschild family when he helped create the First National Bank."

If it happened then, you can bet it will happen now. They want to destroy the Constitution. They openly discuss it:

"... but an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault. The hopeful aspect of the present situation is that even as nations resist appeals for "world government" and "the surrender of sovereignty," technological, economic and political interests are forcing them ... "

"As in the case of the U.S. Constitution, we are more likely to make progress by pressing the existing instrument to the outer limits of its potentialities through creative use, seeking amendments only on carefully selected matters where they seem both necessary and capable of adoption by the constitutionally required majority."

If we can't trust them to follow the Constitution, how can we trust them to re-write it?

Barry, I do not see how it can be worse! Obama commits treason all the time and shoves it in our faces with Liberal treasonous media supporting most anything he does. The Liberal media, years ago, claimed Tea Party members were racist. After this wore down, since we were telling the truth, Liberal media began calling us Nazis! This reminds me of the young woman giving the camera her two middle fingers since most of her fingers point back at her!

We know this is use of Psychology on many unaware Americans. The truth is opposite of what they Liberals are claiming. Hitler used this many times! Americans need to know the absolute treasonous nature of Liberal media!

Hi Barry,

I just noted what you stated, you took Convention Of States out of content, and very very carefully created fake news.

Convention Of States is to do one thing, and one thing only, restore the States under we the people and take back the Constitutional Authority over the Federal Government.

One main issue is, removing Council on Foreign Relations, from the controlling hands of London England. But of course CFR members do not want Council on Foreign Relations Of London England to be noted in a sentence, So tell me Barry, if thats your opinion, it is very creative.

I will and I have sent this message before, Convention Of States belongs to We The People Of America, where it was noted In God We Trust, and thats why we will have a Convention Of States, you nor CFR Of London England can stop this now.

You may ask how come we or I am so positive about this, its easy, my dad, he has been right about issues, and a plan went into effect in 2014, to take our time and wait, for 2017, our team helped to destroy Ted Cruz, and Hillary Clinton, and has reached out and slapped Obama in the mouth for basiclly being a lair.

We Will Have A Convention Of States

I would think the third American revolution would have to start.

Oren,

Why would the elite in the Federal Government not ignore them.  The have no respect for our laws or the Constitution as it was written.  There always has to be a carrot and a stick.

1.   "They won't let it happen".   This is ridiculous on its face.   If that were the case, how have 27 States already signed up?

Never under estimate your enemy! Hitler was under estimated and look how far he went in a very short time and it took the whole of the western world to stop the machine! If you have a plan and letting the enemy bring half of it together without your moving a finger... so much the better!

2.   "Powerful forces will take over...".    Again, this is ridiculous.   It is the same as #1.   If they are that powerful, how have we gotten this far?

The answer is the same as No. 1!

3. ...If we could achieve a One-Term Limit for Members of Congress, we would throw out all the life-time, career, self-serving, PROFESSIONAL politicians and completely gut the Washington power structure.   In its place we would have a Peoples and States Congress that would be much more likely to UPHOLD the Constitution, not IGNORE it.

This sounds good, but one question is... do the people foot the bill for their retirement for their short time service and if so it would add quite a few freeloaders to the budget plus benefits that tag along!

The People need to control SAA not the Senate. This way we have some teeth for those who would counter our move by sending some or all alphabets after leaders of our movement and they suddenly disappear and put a kibosh on what we THOUGHT we had!

Barry

I agree with many of your points except a major one.. term limits! it would be better to make adjoining States vote for removal since we are so limited with Congresspersons that support their oath! Those that do will also be taken out with term limits, which mathematically means we are full of Rhinos and Demoncrats!

Our own nation's friends are telling us many things and they are better suggestions than we get from, even our Tea Party Members! They have been telling these for years, after Obama took office and we failed to listen! Now Obama has attacked them with insistence on support of his doctrines. We have seen this in the Philippines, just recently! We should note, a very honorable people with somewhat a corrupt government. A world problem for sure! However, we do know Obama and how treacherous he can be!

Richard Park,

I do agree with you on this. If we can't make them support our laws now how can we make them support them later including any amendments to the Constitution the states might make. I think things are so out of hand, so broad and so well controlled that we have little power in the conventional sense.

My state won't do bing about anything, My senators and state reps could care less about what I want or our constitution and more about what they want.

I came here to fill you in on Jeb being Hispanic. I see you're ahead of the game. What do you suppose the odds are they are going to try to force him down our collective throats anyway? Anyone want a piece of the action, place your bets ..

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
