More than just being annoying or overly prohibitive, the politically correct fear of being labeled “Islamophobic” is becoming dangerous. Proposed legislation to stop federal funding to a UK charity that gives money to Hamas faltered after protests by Islamic groups and was withdrawn. Word of the Muslim win will spread everywhere as the U.S. sadly gives in yet again.

Representative Ron DeSantis, R-Fla had introduced the amendment that would ban giving any more funding to Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) because of the group’s repeated support for terrorist organizations.  In 2015 and 2016, America gave $370,000 in federal funding to IRW and Islamic groups are intent on keeping that money flowing.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations Chicago chapter (CAIR-Chicago) naturally flocked to stop the bill’s passage. They issued a press release calling for American Muslims to step up the pressure on Congress to reject the bill.

CAIR is a terrorist organization itself so it only makes sense they would be ensuring money goes overseas. This time they are supporting money for a group that has been banned by Israel. The country has refused to let IRW operate in the West Bank since 2014. They were accused of giving money to Hamas institutions outlawed by Israel.

Iyaz Ali, an IRW employee in Gaza made the transfers according to a statement by the Israeli prime minister’s office. A search of Ali’s computer uncovered evidence linking IRW with Hamas funds in the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Nablus. There were also allegedly dozens of photos of “swastikas superimposed on IDF symbols, of senior Nazi German officials, of Osama Bin Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, as well as many photographs of Hamas military activities.”

Israel is not the only one to recognize the danger of IRW. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) deemed them a terrorist organization last year. Britain’s largest bank also acknowledged IRW’s terrorist ties and will not do business with them.

It speaks volumes that the U.S. is still allowing money to be given to this group and others like it. Our passive stance is essentially funding terrorism and American money may very well be responsible for arming those who want to kill us, that can not continue to be a reality.
