With the number of Californians demanding secession soaring post-election, President Trump maybe just about to give them another reason for Caliexit.  While all eyes and ears were focused on his Russian comments, President Trump had some choice words for Californians during his recent interview with Fox's Bill O'Reilly.

As McClatchy reports, responding to a question from O’Reilly about efforts by Democratic state legislators to make California a de-facto “sanctuary state” that would restrict state and local law enforcement, including school police and security departments, from using their resources to aid federal authorities in immigration enforcement.

“I think it’s ridiculous. Sanctuary cities, as you know, I’m very much opposed to sanctuary cities. They breed crime, there’s a lot of problems,” Trump said.

“If we have to, we’ll defund,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly before the Super Bowl. “We give tremendous amounts of money to California, California in many ways is out of control, as you know.”

Trump told O’Reilly that he didn’t want to defund a state or a city and would like to give them “the money they need to properly operate.”

But the president added that “if they’re going to have sanctuary cities, we may have to do that. Certainly that would be a weapon.”

The number of Californians who would rather see their state a sovereign nation than part of the United States jumped to 32 percent, a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll showed earlier this week. In 2014, it was only 20 percent.

Perhaps the new border wall will look more like this after all?

As a reminder, a proposal for California to break away from the United States has been submitted to the Secretary of State's Office in the state capital. If it qualifies, it could trigger a vote on whether the most populous US state should become a separate nation. As RT reports, the group behind the proposal, Yes California Independence Campaign, was cleared on Thursday by Californian Secretary of State Alex Padilla to begin the bid to collect some 600,000 voter signatures required to put the ambitious plan on the ballot, AP reported.

Yeah! Works for me!

Let the country of Mexico fund California, considering that 1/4 of the Mexicans from Mexico are in the US now.
Put that moron in an institution.

they are seceding anyway...go for it

We don't need California anyway. It's a failed state. It's the sixth largest economy in the world and we would be second behind China if California seceded. So, we would still be four spots ahead of the losers in California. Get rid of the failed state. We American patriots don't need these communists.

obama and his ilk need to be on the mexifornia side of the wall if they do secede, and the conservatives need to be moved to the USA side.

Easy does it Oren, California isn't going to secede, it will probably be divided up into smaller states long before that were to happen. There are a lot of conservative strongholds in California, the only serious problem areas are most of LA, San Jose, San Francisco, and varying parts of Sacramento. As a matter of fact roughly seventy five percent of California geographically is Conservative, and if those areas were to secede the wall would be much smaller. It would be more like a prison wall, and given the demographics of the area, isn't a bad idea.  And again, I stand by my previous post. ( obama and his ilk need to be on the mexifornia side of the wall if they do secede, and the conservatives need to be moved to the USA side.) Thanks for your reply, and God Bless America!!!

Well, remember the movies Escape from New York and Escape from LA... I'd have to say the people that made these movies had what's happening in America today in mind. You have a good day.

So, what is your point?  It has to pass a majority in order to take place.  Besides, at last count,  The tax payers in the US send over 356 billion to California every year.  To me that is tooooooooooooo much to support the largest insane asylum in the world.  If you have not figured out, apparently you haven't, California marches to a different drum than the rest of the Country.  I say, bye bye.  Just a change in the direction of the wall!!!!!!!!!!!

Oren..., Thank you...!! I am a native Californian...., it really saddens me to hear other Americans so quick to give up on California...! For pete's sake not all the people of California like what is going on in this State..! There are still a little over 40% Conservative voters here. You don't hear the Marines ever say.., " just leave him behind....!! " It's..., " no man left behind...!! " You start giving up and it will never stop....!! WE certainly have more then our share of LIBERAL morons in this state..., BUT DON'T GIVE UP ON US AMERICA....!!

Lynn, my heart goes out to you and all the other true Conservatives stuck in CA!! We were part of the "white flight" exodus of 2008, as hardcore Conservatives, who were sickened by CA.'s reaction after Ovomit was elected ! We've had quite an adventure, living in multiple states since then !! All the people in the other states,(all VERY CONSERVATIVE), HATE Californians, so we are pretty quiet about where we originated from !!  The sickness from the rabid liberalism and suicidal ideology of the Left is so noxious to real Americans, that it's difficult to remember that there even ARE any decent Conservatives left there, because you are so overwhelmingly outnumbered by the Democ-RATS  !!  We know there are many beleaguered Conservative, good, common sense Americans stuck in California, but unless you're from there, it seems very hard for the rest of the country to muster up much sympathy for them !! We have LIBERAL  family in the Bay Area, we have not spoken to in years, and may not, ever again !!   God bless you, keep your powder dry, and we will be praying for you ! You are NOT FORGOTTEN !!
