Trump pitches 37 percent cut to State Department budget

Image result for state department budget slashingThe Trump administration is proposing a 37 percent spending cut for the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to multiple reports.

U.S. officials say the suggested decrease would likely require laying off employees, including security contractors at diplomatic facilities overseas, The Associated Press said Tuesday.

The AP said development assistance would likely take the biggest hit, citing officials familiar with the proposal.

The agencies together received $50.1 billion during the current fiscal year, it added, a little more than 1 percent of the total federal budget.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday said he would oppose drastic cuts to the State Department.

i wanted more but that is a good start for now

Good.  Still want to know what happened to $6 billion that "disappeared"   during hilary's tenure there  Mr. President, there has to be accountability.

Christine,

Yes I would also like to know????

It used to be when money went missing the managers were arrested... unless they could properly account for it.  If the State Department is missing 6 billion... the secretary of state, undersecretary's and others should be arrested and if they can not properly account for the money... they go to prison for a very long time.

The State is not required to prove where  the money went... only that it is missing... Banks don't have to prove what the Bank Robber did with the money they stole  ... only that they stole the money.

We are being lied to in so many ways... and the people just look out into space with a bank stare on their face... 6 Billion Dollars doesn't go missing... it was stolen... and those charged with authorizing its expenditures are responsible to prove it was properly spent...  or they are guilty of theft.  If it was improperly spent...they are guilty of misappropriation... in any event they are guilty of criminal negligence and or worse.

Colonel, I am very concerned and angry that no one is being held accountable for the many acts of theft, murder and treason that occurred during obama's regime.  I'm also concerned and angry that no one who has threatened Pres. Trump has been arrested by either the Secret Service or the FBI.  No accountability for criminal actions was obama's style.  Why has that drifted into the Trump administration?  When the criminals know there is no punishment for committing crimes, the crimes continue  What do you think is going on?

The problem is massive corruption... so advanced... that few in government are not indicated in the criminal conduct...  My mother would say: If one lives in a glass house they can not throw stones.  In other words if you are involved in government corruption (crimes) you can hardly accuse others without opening the door for counter charges ...

Our government is a House of Cards... a criminal enterprise just waiting to fall.  Take out one key player... say Hillary... and the House begins to fall... take out two key players... say Hillary and Holder... and the whole house of cards is likely to fall.

Hence, none of the Establishment is willing to drain the swamp... except Trump who has no skin in the game... Trump scares the criminals in DC and they are working to take him out... by hook or crook... legitimately or by framing him or thru entrapment... getting him to unwittingly commit some obscure crime.

37% cut for ALL departments except DOD.

"37%", NOT ENOUGH!  Of course, Sen. "Surrender Monkey" McConnell and the little pussy from South Carolina, Sen. Lindsay "lips fully engaged to McCain's rear end" Graham will fight any reduction in government spending and its bloated bureaucracies.  Thankfully, Trump has the last word on Executive Branch spending!

$54 Billion in additional military funding is HUGE in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA, but $50.1 Billion is trivial when spent by the anti-American State Department!  More, typical FAKE NEWS MEDIA HYPOCRISY!

Let Trump produce a graphic depicting the names of GOP Senators and Representatives who support big government and deficit spending for non-essential services.  Use the graphic to expose them and work to PRIMARY those on the list... too, remove them in the GOP Mid-Term Primary.

Screw what McConnell wants!  Do it, Boss!

OMG!!! Ruth Bader Ginsburg Voted Best Real-Life Hero At MTV Awards

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday was crowned the best real-life hero at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The 86-year old judge — whose 2015 biopic The Notorious RBG help cement her as a cultural icon among Liberals — beat out tennis star Serena Williams, WWE wrestler Roman Reigns, and comedian Hannah Gadsby to take him the award.

Though it wasn’t a clean sweep for Ginsburg last night.

The RGB documentary lost the “Best Fight” category for “Ruth Bader Ginsburg vs. Inequality” to “Captain Marvel vs. Minn-Erva.”

The justice was absent from the ceremony in Santa Monica, California.

Last December, Ginsburg had surgery to remove cancerous growths on her left lung. She was released from the hospital in New York four days later and recuperated at home.

Earlier this year, Ginsburg missed three days of arguments, the first time that’s happened since she joined the court in 1993. Still, she was allowed to participate using court briefs and transcripts.

Ginsburg has had two previous bouts with cancer, in 1999 and 10 years later.

Flashback: Ruth Bader Ginsburg: A Pregnant Woman Is Not A ‘Mother’

Celebrated liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg argued in an opinion released Tuesday that a pregnant woman is not a “mother.”

“[A] woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a ‘mother’,” Ginsburg wrote in a footnote, which in turn responded to another footnote in the 20-page concurring opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas in the Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky Inc. case.

As Breitbart News’ legal editor Ken Klukowski reported, the case concerned a law signed by then-Governor (now Vice President) Mike Pence of Indiana in 2016, which required that the remains of an aborted fetus (or baby) be disposed of by cremation or burial. The law also prohibited abortion on the basis of sex, race, or disability alone.

The Court upheld the first part of the law, but declined to consider the selective-abortion ban until more appellate courts had ruled on it.

In his lengthy opinion — which delighted pro-life advocates, and distressed pro-choice activists — Thomas wrote that “this law and other laws like it promote a State’s compelling interest in preventing abortion from becoming a tool of modern-day eugenics.” He traced the racist and eugenicist beliefs of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, and warned that the Court would one day need to wrestle with abortion as form of racial discrimination.

In a footnote, Thomas attacked Ginsberg’s dissenting opinion, which argued the Court should not have deferred to the legal standard used by the litigants in the lower courts, but should have subjected the Indiana law to a more difficult standard instead, since it impacted “the right of [a] woman” to an abortion.

Ginsburg cited no legal authority for her claim that a pregnant woman is not a “mother.” The claim that a fetus is not a child is central to pro-choice arguments.
