With the help of an impatient news media, a global taste for drama and Russia’s provocative posturing in the Ukraine, the White House is now wedged in the put up or shut up position.

Are we in a Cold War now? A Cool War? Maybe it’s just tepid.

War and the rumors of war, like relationships, are complicated these days. Choices are many. Threats of economic sanctions, stern warnings and the withdrawal of diplomatic officials may or may not dissuade Russian President Vladimir Putin. Blunt force is effective, but not always efficient.

The mere suggestion of blunt force and dire consequences, however, has been helpful in the past. Recall that strategic deterrence and the old Strategic Air Command’s “peace through strength” motto persevered in difficult decades, back when Russia was the Soviet Union. But wait. There’s already some strategic deterrence afoot. Consider that when Mr. Putin simply parks a warship in Cuba or assembles black-clad, unidentified troops somewhere, he gets much press, and worries challengers plenty. The Russian president is tactically image-minded: Mr. Putin shaped the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sochi Olympics, which proved to be both global spectacle and handy political vehicle.

Another factor. A little saber rattling goes a long way: It is instantly magnified in the press, and even more so on social media. Why, imagine if Hollywood were to craft a buzzworthy, tweetable message that America’s arsenal and resolve are fully intact. So uh, look out.

A NEW PETITION to get this ball rolling !!!!!!!! Please sign and pass on !!!

Thank you for posting this. Hope all will read and circulate the link. I would add petition for voter ID's to eliminate fraud all together.

Thank you Robert I will be sure to watch for it !

Whoever wrote that petition is missing other issues that are involved with voting laws, although those issues have to do with state government laws on voter fraud.

There is the issue of no ID requirement in some states. There is also the problem of the electoral college, but this is only a concern of the presidential vote. Plus we have a problem of voter dollars, the escalation of costs for political campaigning has gone wildly out of control, and seems there may be no end in sight. Democrats are silencing the voice of the individual patriot while allowing those of the Union, Big business, and foreign interests have unlimited spending on political campaign donating to whomever will support their ideals of back door deals. These problems continue to allow those of the political left to continue their socialistic agenda by way of polluting the leftist media with lies and deceit that are then taken as "The Honest to God's Truth" by the weak minded.

Sorry Johnny, your petition is weak.

Wow Joseph , thank you for your constructive criticism always appreciated . Just trying to accomplish something for the good while I was sitting here listening to others groan and moan ! You could always write one that is more efficient and I will promise to pass your more efficient one around . Or you can just pat yourself on the back for correcting my weaknesses ! I can handle it !

I regret the fact that I did not proof read my own comment, therefore making my message weak as well. For that, I am sorry. The petition that you found has potential, but is riddled with a weak statement. I applaud you for bringing it to light, and having the guts to say anything. We all want the same thing and try to put into words of how we feel about injustices, and are trying to find solutions to obvious (only obvious to those with their eyes open to the world around them)problems that are targeting our freedoms. I also thank you for not being offended.

Currently, with a high-jacked ballot box, petitions are all rather weak -- your criticisms are not much more than what we get out of the ankle-biters that resist the enforcement of the existing, protective laws, that are being swept away.

If there is no alternative but armed revolt, all the comments and conversation are just pointless and only delays the onslaught that must ensue, is that what is wanted? I don't think so.

Generate your own assessments and assertions and add that to the many that must appear to get a greater growing number moving in the right direction. Constructive criticism followed by appropriate action is what gets it.

To put a finer point on it: Have you signed it?

Anyone remember Munich, 1938?  Anyone remember the aftermath of that appeasement?  Anyone????

The above picture is way off, it should show hussein obama on his knees.  Putin has what it takes.

All those that voted for Obama should be exceedingly proud of what they did.  If you look at all transgressions this President has made and how he and his "band of merry socialists" have put OUR Country on a downward spiral to destruction, it is nothing short of criminal. On Hannity last night he asked his audience why people have not stood up to the Administration?  I was thinking very loudly:  Because NO ONE LISTENS TO US!!!  As I see it, the ONLY way we are going to be heard is to get out and Vote, and take everyone we know with us.

Joe Biden Vows: Give Taxpayer-Funded Obamacare To All Illegal Aliens In U.S.

Former Vice President and 2020 Democrat presidential primary candidate Joe Biden is vowing to give Obamacare, funded by American taxpayers, to all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States.

During an interview with Telemundo’s Jose Diaz-Balart, Biden forgot that Obamacare technically bans illegal aliens from enrolling in healthcare plans — although illegal aliens are still able to obtain subsidized and free healthcare at Americans’ expense — and promised that under his plan, all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens would be able to get Obamacare.

The exchange went as follows:

DIAZ-BALART: When I … NBC moderated that first debate with you, I didn’t … I don’t recall a clear answer, under your plan should … would the 11, 12 million undocumented immigrants that live in the United States, that have been here many for generations, would they have access …

DIAZ-BALART: — to health insurance.

BIDEN: Yes, they … if they can buy into the system like everybody else.

DIAZ-BALART: Because you know, in [Obamacare] they can’t.

BIDEN: Yeah. Yeah, I know. Well they can, that’s my point. They continue to be able to do that.

DIAN-BALART: They cannot under the ObamaCare.

BIDEN: Well and that’s my point, they will though. They will be able to buy into … [illegal aliens] would be able to buy in, just like anyone else could.

Biden joins Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg — among other 2020 Democrats — in committing to forcing American taxpayers to pay for healthcare for illegal aliens who arrive in the U.S.

Already, due to loopholes, American taxpayers are spending nearly $20 billion every year to provide illegal aliens with subsidized healthcare, emergency room visits, and other health services.

Under the 2020 Democrats’ plan to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to all illegal aliens living in the U.S., Americans would be billed potentially $660 billion every decade just to cover the costs. Other research has found that the plan would cost Americans at least $23 billion every year.

As Breitbart News has reported, experts have said that giving taxpayer-funded healthcare to effectively all foreign nationals who can make it to America’s borders would drive “strong incentives for people with serious health problems to enter the country or remain longer than their visas allow in order to get government-funded care.”

Despite 2020 Democrats’ continued push for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens, American voters are overwhelmingly opposed to the plan. The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey revealed that the healthcare-for-illegal-aliens plan is the least popular policy position, with opposition from 62 percent of U.S. voters.

Similarly, a CNN poll from July discovered that 63 percent of likely swing voters oppose providing healthcare to illegal aliens, along with nearly 6-in-10 of all likely U.S. voters and 61 percent of moderates. A Rasmussen Reports survey also found that likely voters, by a majority of 55 percent, oppose giving healthcare to even the most low-income illegal aliens.
