As they whistle past the post-election graveyard, Democrats have found a new tune: Voters may have rejected their candidates for everything from U.S. Senate to dogcatcher, but they really still agree with them on the issues.

Of course this clearly isn’t true when it comes to Obamacare, which just dropped to its lowest approval ever in the most recent Gallup poll. And as we examine the election results in more detail, it’s apparent that voters don’t much like other liberal ideas – like tax hikes – either.

Kansas is exhibit A. Democrats and much of the media were convinced that Republican governor Sam Brownback’s decision to slash state taxes would doom him. Brownback cut the personal-income-tax rate by more than a third, from 6.45 to 3.9 percent, and Kansas became the first state ever to completely eliminate taxes on pass-through income (income earned by individual business proprietors). The papers were full of stories suggesting that Brownback was “an object lesson in the limits of conservative governance,” according to the Washington Post. “Tax Cuts on Trial in Governors’ Races,” echoed a headline in the New York Times. TheFiscal Times warned “Brownback Feeling Big Backlash to Tax Cuts in Kansas.”

But when the smoke cleared, Brownback was reelected.

So were other tax-cutting Republican governors. Obviously taxes were far from the only issue in these races. Still, it is interesting that of the two Republican governors who lost reelection, the most prominent – Tom Corbett in Pennsylvania – was one of the few who raised taxes.

And the beat goes on.

I tend to think that the progressive liberals do have the upper hand. Way too many people do agree with them on issues, even though many political/national issues are fabricated by government regardless of which party initiates them.

Immigration being broken is one of those fabrications. Immigration isn't broken. The law concerning immigration is.

But, back to the topic. 2014 was a midterm election.  The low turnout reminds me of the joke Lincoln made in a speech in 1856 about an ugly man riding horseback through the woods where he encountered a lady on horseback. The lady exclaimed, " Well for land's sake, you are the ugliest man I ever saw."

"Yes, madam," he replied, " but I can't help it."

"No, I suppose not," she said, "but at least you could stay at home."

I think that may have been what the uglies (progressives) did. Stay at home. But, in 2016 it may very well be another story. At any rate, I do not think for one minute that folks are turning towards the Republicans. Why should they?

The election was won by "the people", the Tea Party movement!
Hundreds of organizations, Faith & Freedom Coalition, Tea Party Patriots, FreedomWorks, Americans For Prosperity, Tea Party Express, Moore Tea Citizens, Grass Roots North Carolina, The Conservative Senate Fund, Club For Growth, SarahPAC and dozens of local Tea Parties thru out the country won this election!
There are millions of us!

I think you're right (nobody get a big head, but):  from what I hear being whispered by individuals, all that false bad stuff they've been throwing at you for the last years, individuals are realizing - one by one:  you aren't nuts, you're not thinking about yourselves, you really do know what you've been talking about, you care about the country enough to make a stand - and it all makes sense.

The real question is not "who" won the election. It is "what" did we really win?

YEA!   Another reason to be proud of my state!  ;o)

When you don't do as the people want .... you get booted out of office. It is that simple.... Do what the majority wants and you will remain in office !

Tax's are the way of the commies.

The right won the vote because the left is stealing over and over again. They gain we lose.  Enough already.  It is plain to see this nation is ready for fairness and not communism.

Judicial Watch->  Emails Show Dossier-Connected Obama State Dept Officials Set ‘Face-To-Face’ Meeting On ‘Russian Matter’ Shortly Before 2016 Election

Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation on Thursday released 84 pages of documents showing Obama’s State Department was central to pushing the ‘Trump-Russia’ hoax shortly before the 2016 election.

The email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, a very close associate to Christopher Steele, show them discussing a ‘face-to-face’ meeting in New York on a ‘Russian matter’ in September of 2016.

Via Judicial Watch:

Judicial Watch and The Daily Caller News Foundation today released 84 pages of documents, including a September 2016 email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, a close associate of dossier author Christopher Steele, discussing a “face-to-face” meeting on a “Russian matter.”

(In June 2016 Nuland permitted a meeting between Steele and the FBI’s legal attaché in Rome. Nuland told CBS News that the State Department knew about the Steele dossier by July 2016.)

According to an op-ed Winer wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, also in September 2016, “Steele and I met in Washington and discussed the information now known as the “dossier… I prepared a two-page summary and shared it with Nuland, who indicated that, like me, she felt that the secretary of state needed to be made aware of this material.”

A September 17, 2016, email exchange between Nuland and Winer – that was classified in the interest of national defense or foreign policy – discusses the political situation in Libya, but also brings up a “Russian matter:”

Good. I’ll reach out when im there Sunday. [Redacted]

If Victoria Nuland’s name sounds familiar it’s because she has been on Judicial Watch’s radar for a long time and in many of TGP’s previous reports.

In December 2018, Judicial Watch released documents revealing that Victoria Nuland was involved in the Obama State Department’s urgent gathering of classified Russia investigation information and disseminating it to members of Congress within hours of Donald Trump taking office.

In a related lawsuit, Judicial Watch is suing the State Department communications between Ambassador Nuland and employees of Fusion GPS, as well as top ranking Department of Justice, FBI, and State Department officials.

“The Obama State Department was central to the effort to target President Trump with the Russia smear,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These new emails further show that senior Obama State Department advanced the Russiagate hoax just before the 2016 presidential election.”
