Conservative firebrand Sen. Ted Cruz is spearheading an alternative to Obamacare in the GOP's latest bid to show the Supreme Court it has a Plan B if the court eliminates subsidies for millions of Obamacare customers.
The bill filed by the Texas senator Tuesday would remove the healthcare law's insurance mandate and allow residents in one state the option to purchase a health plan of their choice in any other state. It is co-sponsored by Sens. John Barrasso of Wyoming, Mike Crapo of Idaho and Marco Rubio of Florida, all Republicans.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced companion legislation in the House, according to a release on the bill, called the Healthcare Choice Act.
The court will hear oral arguments Wednesday on King v. Burwell on whether or not the federal government has the authority to offer subsidies to residents in federal-run health exchanges.

Ted Cruz might be proud.
This is an excellent paper. I love it. It would do well as a reference in an Article V COS discussion to limit the federal level with regard to items you mention in bullets 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8.
I would add it probably should expand a bullet for Tort reform and frivolous law suits. This would go a long way in reducing the medical practice insurance rates, making many of a doctor's services more affordable. Lawyers would hate this, but they are very much a part of this mess.
Thanks for sharing :)
You're right about Tort Reform. I'm playing that a little close to avoid drawing out all the snakes before we get a footing.
Upon reading the list for the 10th time, I got the sense that if we succeeded in getting people to think in the right priorities of personal responsibility and e pluribus Unum, frivolous lawsuits will fade back. Maybe I'm a Pollyanna, but that's how the nation succeeded.
Here's the expanded version attached.
lol...I gotcha about the snakes...probably very right.
However, I do think that there will always be an element of corruption in the system of justice and without the correct steps to head them off (tort reform) I think they will only continue. Quite frankly I think the law (or the practice of it) is yet another area of control we desperately need as much as government.
wow, the expanded version is great! I gotta take some time to read carefully through it. Thanks for sharing.
Along with this, I'd like to see us get rid of Obama himself.
Ted Cruz is in my view the only person in Washington that has the Testicles to say what we all are thinking, out of all the speeches we heard at CPAC he was the only speaker that did not have to look at any notes, spoke from the hart and his mind that showed me that he was not just giving a speech but telling us what was in his hart and he will do just what he say's .
I'm sorry, I just don't "get" Ted Cruz and I can't see what anybody sees in him unless you like medicine show preachers. I see a mind, alright, a very clever one but ZIPPO heart.
You can't love the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights while knowing them from the depths of one's being and not have a heart.
Maybe he's hitting a soft spot that you might want to reconsider.
(BTW - I'd still vote for Scott Walker first. Senators haven't done well as Presidents - at least until the 17th Amendment gets repealed.)
Ted Cruz is an East Coast LAWYER at HEART.
Ted Cruz is the only candidate running against Obama and the Washington establishment. Everyone else is just another politician.
He is right
Dictator Obama Care has nothing to do with health care.
