Gun Toting Tea Party mom wins $1.12M for false prosecution

A Long Island mother of three arrested for taking pictures of an Air National Guard base in the Hamptons – while armed to the teeth with a licensed assault rifle in her car — has been awarded $1.12 million by a federal jury over her false prosecution by Suffolk County authorities.

The Central Islip jury on Thursday sided with Nancy Genovese, 58, in a 2010 lawsuit she filed against Suffolk County, its Sheriff’s Office and other parties, claiming she was only arrested during the July 2009 incident because she belonged to the Tea Party.

Genovese was arrested while taking pictures of a decorative helicopter in front of the Gabreski Airport Air National Guard base in Westhampton Beach for a “Support Our Troops” website. She was charged with criminal trespass and spent four days in jail before the charges were dropped.

Southhampton cops searched her and found a legally owned rifle that she was transporting from a nearby rifle range. She contends a deputy sheriff arrived on the scene later and said to her, “I bet you are one of those Tea Party people.” When Genovese said she’s gone to Tea Party rallies, he allegedly said, “You’re a real right-winger, aren’t you?” and “You are a ‘Teabagger’” and then added that she’d be arrested for terrorism to make an example of other “right wingers.”

“Ms. Genovese was subjected to a level of abuse because [authorities] did not share the same political views as she did and saw this as an excuse to deny her even the most basic civil rights,” her lawyer Frederick Brewington said.

I love it, keep suing these liberal idiots, bankrupt their departments and let them explain to their tax base why the have no money.

Ultimately, when the government gets sued, it's we the people that pay.  It comes out of our pocket.

I have no objection to her having the money, but, I'd be happier still if I knew that those that were responsible, for this outrage, were themselves arrested, tried and jailed.

Some of them might lose their job over this, but, that hasn't been much of a determent to other law enforcement officers that share the same UN-American and UN-constitutional beliefs, when enforcing their idea of what the law is.

These people need to understand that they can and will go to jail, for this kind of harassment of American citizens.

Unfortunately, many of those who apply for deputy sheriff positions are not rocket scientists. The vast majority have an education?? from our disastrous excuse of a "system". The Dept. of Education should be relabeled the Dept of Indoctrination (into stupidity).

Ralph, You just posted a note that woke me up when you stated "Un-American" and "UN-constitutional" It occurred to me the answer was "UN", the United Nations. Just saying.

Oh!.......your not just saying, you said it!

UN, Small Arms Treaty, for instance, It's not someone's imagination, Kerry signed it.

Thank God that, alone, his signature is still as useless as it was in Vietnam.

Hopefully she will use some of that money to fight the crap we have in WH! I would! I would donate A LARGE sum to TEA Party! I would use what I needed to slap Obama in the face!

Agreed, when on the 6 O'clock news, you see members being taken away in handcuffs and jailed. Then lets see how fast they think differently.

It's a feel good story.  I only wish this would happen more often, those in government positions, when they feel they do not have any accountability, are totally out of control.  Hopefully situations like this will highlight the need for more accountability for unelected government officials.

My hat's off to her. I probably would have shot the a$$h0le deputy sheriff..

I love the pictures with this story.  The patriotic spirit lives on in America!

We can and will be victorious if we stand united!

God bless America!

Joe Biden Talks To The Dead: – He Worked On Paris Climate Deal With Long-Dead Chinese Leader

Former Vice President Joe Biden mistakenly claimed on Monday that he worked on the Paris Climate Accord with former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping — who died more than 20 years before its signing.

Joe Biden claimed tonight that he worked with Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping on the Paris Climate Accord.

Except the current Chinese President is Xi Jinping.

Deng Xiapoing left office in 1992 and has been dead for 23 years.

Biden made the gaffe while citing his accomplishments in President Barack Obama’s administration.

“One of the things I’m proudest of is getting passed, getting moved, getting in control of the Paris Climate Accord,” Biden said in a speech at the College of Charleston. “I’m the guy who came back after meeting with Deng Xiaoping and making the case that I believe China will join if we put pressure on them. We got almost 200 nations to join.”

Xiaoping served as the leader of China from 1978 until his retirement in 1992, and passed away in 1997. Xi Jinping, China’s current president, came to power 2013 and signed the country onto the 2016 agreement.

In June 2017, President Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the agreement, stating that accord will “undermine the economy” and “puts [the United States] at a permanent disadvantage.”

In addition to the Xiaoping gaffe, Biden bizarrely declared in a campaign speech that he is a “candidate for the United States Senate” and that people could “vote for the other Biden” if they prefer one of his rivals.

“My name is Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over, if you like what you see, help out. If not, vote for the other Biden,” the 77-year-old said at the First in the South Dinner.

Biden’s confusing comments come as Democrat primary candidates are scheduled to debate in Charleston Tuesday evening. The former vice president faces increasing pressure to give a standout performance as his “firewall” in the Palmetto State crumbles in the face of a surging Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The Vermont senator is fresh off a decisive victory in Nevada caucuses on Saturday. Earlier this month, he placed first the New Hampshire primary and won the popular vote in Iowa. In a survey released Monday, the Public Policy Polling outfit said Biden leads South Carolina with 36 percent of support and Sanders is in second at 21 percent.
