Tancredo: Report Reveals Massive Indoctrination of Students at Universities Through ‘Transformative Civic Engagement’

Students at hundreds of colleges and universities are being systematically indoctrinated into the “New Civics” of social justice activism, according to a report released this past week by the National Association of Scholars.

The report’s findings suggest that the suppression of free speech on college campuses that is making headlines is only the tip of a very large iceberg. What lies beneath the surface is a massive, publicly funded program of indoctrination through a remaking of the curriculum as a vehicle for advancing the political agenda of progressivism.Image result for indoctrination

The full NAS report, MAKING CITIZENS: HOW AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES TEACH CIVICS, can be found here.

The “New Civics” can accurately be called indoctrination because it is far more ambitious and open than the left-liberal bias in classroom instruction encountered by students for decades. Yes, 90% of college faculty in the liberal arts and humanities are liberal and progressive, and classroom propaganda is a growing problem, but the “New Civics” has ambitions for transforming the entire institution and all academic disciplines into “change agents.”

The “New Civics” is replacing traditional “civic literacy,” and it’s campus-wide ambitions have the endorsement and support of university administrators. In public institutions like the four cases documented in the MAKING CITIZENS report, it sees no conflict in using taxpayer dollars to accomplish its progressive mission.

If you think this is a marginal or minor problem, look at this week’s story, “How Colleges Teach Students to Be Good Citizens,” in the January 13 issue of the premier trade publication for the higher education establishment, THE  CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION. The establishment is proud of the “New Civics” and hopes it will be “transformative.” Also, you can take a gander at the section of the Huffington Post devoted to Civic Engagement, where the goals of social justice indoctrination of students are praised by the pioneers of transformative social values like Ralph Nader.

Simply put, COMMUNISM!

With each passing moment this world is spinning faster and faster out of mans control and into God's control

Feel sorry for this generation of people.

Something must be done to reverse this as this is nothing but brazen Communist indoctrination.  When you start, they will say it is censorship to stop us but one answer and the best answer is to raise the voting age back up to 21 unless you served or are in the military and re-instate the draft.  These are serious options but the future of our republic is in peril otherwise.

It is time for the Trump Administration to work with the Department of Education to develop a list of academic institutions whose educational efforts violate a set of educational ethics which preclude institutions which violate those ethics from offering or receiving government guaranteed student loans...

Cut off their government grants, funding and student loan program eligibility... This should be a priority for the next Education Department Secretary and Congress... no more Marxist indoctrination or violation of students rights to a Classical Education... rather than liberal indoctrination.

Col.

You are absolutely right.

I could tell stories all day, what my son-in-law tells me that goes on every day at the Unv. of Cincinnati, supposedly a conservative school. Professor's who spend the better part of their classroom time talking about liberal issues and progressive ideals. Thank God, my son-in-law, is a strong conservative and refuses to listen to it and walks out. I ask him how he gets away with that and he says they don't know why he is leaving and don't care. If he wasn't on the Dean's list, I am sure he wouldn't do that.

The same thing is happening in our K-12 classrooms and it disgusts me. I cannot go to the school because I would get locked up.

But that is how we are losing our Republic, just like the muslims that teach their children to kill all those that don't agree with them. However, I still believe that it is God's Hands and we must keep the faith.

Now that the rest of the country knows it what's going to be done about it? What the Democrats and the liberal press is doing is setting Trump for a dirty fight the next 4 years. Trump can handle them because he's not afraid of either. The American people are going to have to keep fighting for America or its going to the liberal form of hatred ran control, but it will be detected at the people. And the fight for freedom will be gone.

“New Civics” ....an indoctrination course aimed at converting innocence into hard core malcontents by poisoning their minds with twisted LIES.

Once again, government is in control of something it should not be involved in. Education doesn't belong in government.

Common Core is the attempt to totally nationalize elementary and secondary education. The colleges and universities are nationalized by funding control (grants) and that is what has led to the ridiculous costs of a college education. Education is a business, based on money, not on dispensing knowledge and truth.

Harvard has stated through its President, that "Our A level grads we will keep for ourselves, and the B and C level ones can go into the corporate world." This perpetuates indoctrination and propaganda since only those that toe the company line will be A level upon graduation.

I am not an expert on education, or anything else for that matter. I taught High School for 5 years and left because I would not toe the company line, and I would not tolerate pot smoking dopes in my classes.

The NEA probably thought I was too harsh. The principal certainly did. But then he hid in his office when race riots broke out and left it to folks like me to deal with it.

The main thing I learned in college was that nearly all the instructors never knew what they were talking about.  I have always felt that one can educate themselves. If one can learn to read, carefully, and comprehend it, plus learn how to write just adequately, then one can educate themselves.

Socialist defund themselves when it collapses. I think they thought that Hillary would be in charge when it collapses. She would do like Venezuela and distribute the food to her loyalists but guess what b%^ches? Free market is going to distribute the food and there won't be money for these schools for many a year

Sort of like Lenin "taught" the Russian people about the people owning everything and everyone is equally free.

Well...seems to me that what We the People need to do is do what it takes to provide the opportunity to educate our young in an alternative venue..make new colleges and universities, stop supporting the commie ones...it can be done with unification and determination. Hillsdale College is one such venue. No indoctrination.

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
