The inquiry, which seeks to determine whether the 2016 Democrat standard-bearer violated federal government protocols for handling, storing, and transmitting classified information, also includes her aides. However, Clinton will retain her security clearance as the investigation continues.

The State Department would not say when its inquiry began, but Fox News noted it is separate from the conclusion of the FBI’s investigation into the matter — which, in case you’re just waking up from a year-and-a-half hibernation — ended with then-FBI Director James Comey recommending that Clinton not be charged with any crime.

The State Department’s inquiry is running concurrently with the Senate Judiciary Committee’s look at Clinton’s handling of classified information. Judiciary Chairman Sen. Charles Grassley, an Iowa Republican, is heading that investigation. He confirmed to Fox News that the State Department’s investigation is ongoing.

In a March letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson requesting that the State Department investigate Clinton’s security clearances, Grassley made his position clear:

“Any other government workers who engaged in such serious offenses would, at a minimum, have their clearances suspended pending an investigation,” he wrote. “The failure to do so has given the public the impression that Secretary Clinton and her associates received special treatment.”

In the letter, Grassley cited Comey’s statements during his infamous July 5, 2016, news conference that there is “evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information” and that the former secretary of state and her staff were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Clinton and her aides could have their security clearance revoked if the investigation finds that she acted improperly. The emphasis, however, should be on the word “could,” since Clinton and her crew have evaded responsibility for her private email server more often than Whitey Bulger evaded RICO statutes.

Needless to say, Democrats are in conniptions over the State Department’s inquiry.

“Nothing’s been more thoroughly dissected. It’s over. Case closed. Literally,” said Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill.

Unfortunately for Merrill, it’s not. Even though Clinton literally has no role in government after her November loss, she retains her security clearance at the State Department. While the Washington Examiner notes that “it’s not unusual for former senior officials to maintain some level of access to classified information,” it’s unusual for those individuals to do so after they run private servers that improperly handle classified information out of their bathroom.

If Merrill really wants to close this case and forestall an investigation, Hillary and her aides can simply surrender their access. However, there’s about as much chance of that happening voluntarily as there is of Washington Redskins Daniel Snyder changing the name of his team to the Washington Safe-Spacers.

Thus, the investigation is necessary — and one hopes the outcome is different than the shamefully tainted probe conducted by James Comey’s FBI.

Would some one please tell me what a 'Probe' is?  I mean truly. Other than the standard make believe investigation.

That has already been done.

Indict her. Then you can probe away at her lies.

Heh-Heh.   :-)

these 'investigations' are no different than the dozens of repeal votes were when Rs knew obie wouldn't sign it, skits to hopefully impress potential voters. How many can they pretend to do without actually getting anything done??

out of their bathroom? They usually say closet. Either way, continually highlighting that demonstrates the lack of sincerity by whoever is saying or writing it. MOST communications equipment and servers are in an out of the way closet somewhere. There's nothing nefarious or unusual about that.. it's entirely unimportant to the primary point of the supposed investigation.

Angry Dem Impeachment ‘Witness’: Pam Karlan Donated Thousands To Hillary And Was On Clinton’s List For Potential SCOTUS Nomination

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jerrold Nadler, kicked off its first impeachment circus Wednesday morning.

The four ‘witnesses’ testifying have never actually witnessed any of Trump’s dealings with Ukraine firsthand — the four witnesses are law professors offering legal analysis.

One of the witnesses the Dems rolled out is an angry Hillary Clinton donor who was on Crooked’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

No wonder why this unhinged, dowdy woman is so pissed off!

“Professor Pam Karlan donated thousands of dollars to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination. So she certainly has no vendetta against President Trump,” GOP Rep. Mark Walker said.

Congressman Walker also pointed out that Noah Feldman, the Dems first partisan witness in Wednesday’s hearing tweeted about impeaching Trump right after he was sworn in.

Meet Noah Feldman, House Democrats first partisan witness.

Look at the date of this tweet. He has been trying to get @realDonaldTrump impeached since 46 days into his presidency.

His reason? Trump criticized President Obama.

This is a sham impeachment with sham witnesses. https://twitter.com/NoahRFeldman/status/839185127494254592

The next witness, Karlan, has donated thousands to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

So she certainly has no vendetta against @realDonaldTrump.

These witnesses are as serious as House Democrats impeachment case: not at all.

The entire sham show trial is stacked with partisan hacks who have wanted to impeach Trump from the moment he won in November of 2016.

Norm Eisen, the Democrats’ counsel who is blasting Trump and questioning witnesses in Wednesday’s show trial, tweeted about impeaching Trump before Donald Trump was even sworn into office!
