From the very beginning, there has been a battle royal brewing between President Trump and the left-wing media. Actually, it preceded his election; at least on the part of the media. At first, they couldn’t get enough of him, although the attention came with a liberal dose of ridicule. After all, he made for good copy and was a lot more entertaining than the likes of Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Lindsey Graham, Rick Santorum, Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Rick Perry or Bobby Jindal. Besides, they knew that commie-Bernie Sanders never had a chance against the liar-Clinton machine, just as they knew that Donald Trump had a snowball’s chance in Hell of defeating liar-Hillary Clinton.

It was only when the snowball emerged victorious, thanks to the divinely-inspired Electoral College, that things got really serious. That’s when the Never-Trump resistance came together, uniting the media, the dummycrats-Democrats in Congress and the Fifth Columnists lurking in the Potomac swamp, in a mission to drive Trump from the White House one way or another.

Lest this come off as mere partisan sniping on my part, it’s worth comparing the lies told by both sides.

President Trump has lied about the turnout at his inauguration and possibly about being unaware of Donald Junior’s meeting with the Russian lawyer in order to gather dirt about Mrs. liar-Clinton.

On the other hand, he has told the truth about his reasons for pulling out of some multi-national trade treaties, getting us out of the Paris Accords and the Iran deal. He has told the truth about cutting taxes; limiting regulations; moving our embassy to Jerusalem; naming constitutionalists to the Supreme Court; calling out European nations who have failed to meet their financial responsibilities to NATO; about arming Poland and Ukraine; building up our military; challenging the unfair tariffs of our trading partners; doing his best to curtail illegal immigration from Mexico, Central America and the Middle East; and defending the religious rights of all Americans and not just Muslims.

What is clearly evident is that the media has no interest in pointing out the positive aspects of Trump’s record, just as they had no interest in calling out liar-nObama when he wiretapped the AP, Fox’s James Rosen and even Rosen’s parents; attempted to exile Fox News from the White House press conferences; and sicced the IRS on conservative groups and individuals.

To be fair, the media has generally told the truth when it comes to reporting the temperature, wedding announcements and baseball scores.

⦿   Although I have more good things than bad to say about Fox News, I think their slogan about being fair and balanced often works against them.

For instance, when Tucker Carlson often turns his shows over to dunces like Cathy Arue, a 47-year-old passing herself off as a teenager in order to serve up silly talking points on behalf of every childish fad coming down the pike; a Hollywood simpleton like Rob Reiner; a left-wing spinmeister like Richard Goodstein; or an scumbag-Adam Schiff-wannabe named Eric Swalwell; I find myself setting land speed records in fast-forwarding. I can’t help wondering how many people compete to break my record whenever Juan Williams, Leslie Marshall or Geraldo Rivera, pops up on Fox, uttering left-wing banalities.

Occasionally, on his Sunday morning show, Chris Wallace will host a panel allegedly split between two Republicans and two dummycrats-Democrats. But, as Jonah Goldberg and Karl Rove, are often seated representing the Right side of the aisle, even though both are Never-Trumpers, as is Wallace, the deck is clearly stacked against the President. On such occasions, the network should change its motto to unfair and unbalanced.

Just recently, during a week in which Trump got the EU to say “Uncle!” when it came to their outrageous tariffs, North Korea returned the remains of 55 soldiers to the U.S. and our GDP hit 4.1%, Wallace never mentioned the economy or the 65-year-old remains; instead, he and the panel devoted nearly the entire hour to rehashing Michael Cohen’s contention that Trump knew about Junior’s meeting with the Russian lawyer. Talk about trying to turn a molehill into Mount Everest!

Even though there is no law that forbids people from talking to Russians during a political campaign, the best that the leftists could charge Trump with was lying about it to the New York Times. Although I’m sure that liberals see it as tantamount to blasphemy, normal people would say fair’s fair; after all, day after day, the Times lies about him.

⦿   Comedian/social observer Evan Sayet quite properly pointed out “In San Francisco, it’s illegal to be given a plastic straw, but they’ll provide you with a needle so you can shoot up heroin.”

⦿   In case it has escaped your attention, political scandals aren’t what they used to be. When I look back over the ones that have destroyed careers and reputations during my lifetime, they almost seem like plotlines from “The Andy Griffith Show” or “Mayberry, RFD.”

People like Harry Vaughn, Sherman Adams, Bobby Baker and Sen. Edmund Muskie, were nearly run out of town on a rail or at least had their presidential aspirations shattered over such offenses as plagiarizing a speech, referring to Canadians as Canucks or accepting vicuna coats and stereo sets as bribes.

These days, when people who have led the FBI, the CIA and the NSA, don’t think twice about committing high crimes and misdemeanors for partisan reasons and refuse to even consider prosecuting a former Secretary of State for accepting bribes from hostile powers; using a private server to convey top security documents; and, in order to avoid having her family Foundation investigated, destroying her computer and cell phone, we have a Special Prosecutor, whose authority is based solely on a baseless dossier bought and paid for by a political party and its presidential candidate.

Rumor has it that Robert Mueller, who looks like the result of hanoi-John Kerry’s mating with Francis the Mule, has already subpoenaed Donald Trump’s third grade report card.

⦿   I heard from a reader who said that he will donate to specific GOP candidates, but not to the party because so many Republicans are RINOs. I understand his reluctance, but I reminded him that Republicans in Name Only are not only preferable to dummycrats-Democrats, but unless the GOP retains control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections, Trump will be a lame duck for at least the next two years. What’s more, any chance of getting to the truth about the Deep State and the role that Barack liar-nObama played and possibly continues to play in the illegal activities of the FBI, the Intelligence agencies and the State Department, will be lost forever.

⦿   A video that went viral recently showed people who voted for left-wing nebbish commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being asked how “dummycrats-Democratic Socialism” would be funded. The consensus was that they hadn’t the faintest idea; all they knew for certain was that they’d be getting all sorts of goodies they wouldn’t have to pay for. It’s easy to make fun of them. It’s harder to make fun of Ms. commie-Ocasio-Cortez and commie-Bernie Sanders, who also have no idea how in the world they would pay for free college tuition, health care, food and a universal pay check, but, unfortunately, one of them is a senator and the other will soon be able to cast votes in the House.

⦿   When it comes to the nonsense about Trump’s colluding with Russia, Antonio Branco probably summed it up best in a cartoon showing Trump holding Putin by the neck and punching him while a circle of stars floats above Putin’s battered head labeled “U.S. Military Buildup,” “Tougher Sanctions,” “Strengthen NATO,” “Increased U.S. Oil & Gas Production” and “U.S. Defense Aid to Ukraine.” Just as Trump is preparing to deliver yet another wallop, he’s distracted by a donkey standing behind him holding a microphone and demanding to know “Why are you being Putin’s puppet?”

To be fair, the donkey only had a passing resemblance to Chuck clown-Schumer.

ALERT ALERT

OMG!! -> Government Now Wants To Seize Your Car For Going 5MPH Over The Limit

We’ve discussed this on and off for several years now. Civil asset forfeiture is a legal process that allows the government to seize assets and cash from citizens without any due process or judicial oversight.

You don’t even have to be charged with a crime. You are assumed guilty unless you can somehow prove your innocence.

Of course, not everyone has this ability… if you aren’t local, state, or federal law enforcement, this is called stealing, and you go to prison.

But the government is actually a bigger problem than common thieves.

A 2015 report showed that law enforcement used civil asset forfeiture to steal more from US residents than every thief, robber, and burglar in America combined.

About $4.5 BILLION worth of cash, cars, homes, and other property is taken by civil asset forfeiture each year – hundreds of millions more than common criminals steal.

And it happens at every level. Your local cop can use civil asset forfeiture just like your state trooper. And then any one of the armed agents of the US government—from the FBI to the Fish and Wildlife Service—can rob you for whatever reason they want.

This travesty continues to grow because the cops who take your stuff get to keep it. Police departments and government agencies around the country depend on civil asset forfeiture to boost their budgets.

Cops will literally keep some of the cars they take as squad cars. And they make a fortune auctioning off the houses, boats, and anything else they confiscate.

Obviously this gives cops an incentive to steal, whether or not they actually think the property was used in a crime, or acquired illegally. Remember, civil asset forfeiture adds billions every year to their bottom line.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case of civil asset forfeiture.

Tyson Timbs was convicted of selling a small amount of drugs to an undercover police officer. He was sentenced to house arrest, and paid about $1,200 in fines.

But then police used civil asset forfeiture to take his $42,000 Land Rover which Timbs purchased with money from a life insurance policy after his father died. The money did not come from selling drugs, or any other illegal activity.

Timbs sued, and the case made its way to the Supreme Court, because every lower court in Indiana said the forfeiture was perfectly legit.

The case revolves around whether or not the seizure of the Land Rover was an excessive fine under the 8th amendment, and whether or not this protection against excessive fines applies to state governments.

And the public got some crazy insight into the government’s position.

The Indiana Solicitor General was arguing in favor of civil asset forfeiture when Justice Stephen Breyer asked him a hypothetical.

Breyer asked, if a state needs revenue, could it force someone to forfeit their Bugatti, Mercedes, or Ferrari for speeding? Even if they were going just 5 miles per hour over the speed limit?

And the utterly appalling answer from the Indiana Solicitor General was, yes.

That’s right… the official government position is that they can steal any amount of your property in “connection” with any crime whatsoever, no matter how trivial the crime may be… even exceeding the speed limit by 5 miles per hour.

This is how overbearing and authoritarian the government has become in the land of the free.

This is how much power your local cop has… and the power only grows as you go to state, and federal officials.

If there is any solace in any of this, it is that the other Supreme Court Justices were reportedly laughing at this exchange.

The justices seemed incredulous that Indiana’s top lawyer was using such absurd assertions and flimsy reasoning in his arguments.

So, for now, we can keep our cars if we get pulled over for speeding. But that may not always be the case…

Depending on how this is ruled, it could pave the way for even more egregious abuses of power… or it could curb the practice, and reign in these thieves in uniforms.

Just understand where the government is coming from. These politicians, bureaucrats and officers think they can do whatever they want. Absolutely anything goes, with no limitation whatsoever.

And that makes it a little tough to feel like you really live in the land of the free.
