Senate Democrats will try to resurrect a United Nations treaty on rights for the disabled that was rejected last year over GOP concerns it would imperil home-schooling.
The treaty fell five votes short of the necessary two-thirds majority in a 61-38 vote in December after former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) led a charge that it would give unelected UN bureaucrats the power to challenge U.S. home-schooling.
Treaty supporters say those worries were unfounded, and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), the new chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations panel hopes to win approval of the treaty, a Senate Democratic aide said.
Menendez hopes to strike a deal on a way forward with the panel's top Republican, Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, who voted against the treaty last year.
Where is it writen that you have to be a stupied, mentally ill, brainless Jackass,to be a senator
They are Hell bent on give ing our country over to the un ,and their agenda the new world order
No one from the UN has any right to say what happens AT ALL within the USA. I have watched the governments of the rest of the world and see their failed policies. Their unAmerican Ideas and ideals are repugnant and inapplicable within this Nation. Giving the UN ANY say on any of this will only set our Nation up for failure and a lack of human rights!!!....... not to mention that it will destroy all the rights of the Christians in our Nation.
Of course they will -- next up will be mandated preschool (babysitting) state run indoctrination programs.
F**K the U.N.
Core Communist training and the teachers union!
We need to get as far away from the UN as possible and their bed partners of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation! We don't need them to tell us anything. I worked with the disabled for over 30 yrs. and we already have good laws, programs and services in place. Some could be improved but that should be done within. The National Idiot would love to invite the UN into our bedrooms as they are very much a part of the New World Order delusion he operates on.
