Sen. Rand Paul: Been told to ‘take it or leave it’ on Obamacare strategy

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, walks to a room on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, March 2, 2017, where he charges House Republicans are keeping their Obamacare repeal and replace legislation under lock and key and not available for public view. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)Sen. Rand Paul on Friday said conservatives are being told to “take it or leave it” when it comes to the emerging House GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, setting up a major clash with leaders hoping to mark up legislation as soon as next week.

Republicans are trying to repeal and replace as much of the Affordable Care Act as they can under a fast-track budget process that allows them to avoid a Democratic filibuster.

Leaders have outlined a three-week timetable to get the legislation over to the Senate, where it must meet arcane budget rules and gather consensus among Republicans who hold a 52-seat majority.

Yet a trio of Senate conservatives — Mr. Paul of Kentucky, Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah — have objected to the House GOP approach, on top of centrists who are worried about unwinding Obamacare’s expansion of Medicaid for the poor or defunding Planned Parenthood over its abortion practice as part of the draft plan.

For 114 years, National Wildlife Refuges have helped people get outdoors and connect to nature.

Mail from the U.S. Department of the Interior

Happy 114th birthday to the National Wildlife Refuge System! Founded in 1903 by President Theodore Roosevelt, the system now includes more than 560 national wildlife refuges across the country. With at least one national wildlife refuge in every state and a refuge within an hour’s drive of most major cities, there’s no reason you shouldn’t explore America’s best kept secret.

Check out more stunning wildlife refuges across the country.

Have a great day,

;'  /   REALLY??

given what I've seen of 'public lands' these days these refuges are likely fenced off, with big signs saying 'We are government. We will hurt you if you pass this point!'

When we were kids 'public lands' meant free usage of those lands for all of us. Today it usually means stay the hell off of it.

Exactly, in my youth public lands were to be used by citizens... open access was the rule not the exception.  Many if not all of our public parks, forests, and national treasures were FREE no admission fee... with some fees for camping but very minimal... too, cover waste removal and maintenance of camp sites.

Today. the public lands are basically closed and where they are open they have heavy fees for use and many are contracted to private agents who set the fees for profit.  We need to return all federal lands not held in accordance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17: the Capitol, Forts, Magazines, shipyards, docks and other needful buildings are the only Constitutionally authorized lands to be held by the Federal Government.

All Territories within a sovereign State, which are now under direct Federal administration need to be reviewed for their Constitutional use and if the Federal Government has no Constitutional claim the lands should revert to State Control and management. National Parks, Monuments, Forests and reserves included.  The States can operate them, as many of them are already under civilian contractor administration...  they are being supported on a fee for service basis...

Get the Federal Government out of the land business... turn over all federal lands not provided for by the Constitution... to the several States.

Well stated Ron.

Medical Health Coverage in America.

If Donald Trump does not take great care to protect and repay the Elderly who live solely on their Social Security AFTER ALL THEY DID TO GET HIM ELECTED AS WE PUT HIM AND THE GOP BACK ON THE THRONE OF AMERICAN POLITICS-----He must want to be a 1 term president and quite possibly he may also not care If the GOP stays in power.

THE ELDERLY, RIGHT NOW, ARE THE LIFE BLOOD OF THE GOP AND FOR THIS REASON THEY DESERVE TO BE IN THE FOREFRONT OF THOSE PROTECTED BY ANY NEW OVERALL HEALTH CARE COVERAGE IN AMERICA. TRUMP NEEDS TO STEP IN AND STEP UP AND PROTECT ALL THOSE WHO ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY BY NEVER TOUCHING DECREASING THE S.S. AND BY PROVIDING ABOVE AVERAGE COVERAGE AS THESE PEOPLE HAVE PAID THEIR DUES TO THE GOP AND THEY DESERVE PROTECTIONS INSTEAD OF LEAKY BOTTOM RUNG COVERAGE AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR IT FROM THE SKIMPY SOC. SEC. THEY ARE GETTING.

IT WOULD BE CRIMINAL OF TRUMP TO MAKE THE ELDERLY PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR ANY HEALTH CARE.

THEY SIMPLY CAN'T AFFORD IT!

Rumor has it that the proposed expanded Health Savings Accounts will no longer be able to be spent on natural remedies and dietary supplements. Tell your representatives to protect access to natural means to health here: http://tinyurl.com/naturalremediesHSA

Absolutely... natural remedies are often superior to pharmaceuticals... fewer side effects, lower costs and better for one's overall health.  God said... every herd and seed, plant and tree were placed in the earth for the health and welfare of his children... mankind.  Natural remedies are a powerful source for good health..

1. Nets Omit Key Details of the CBO’s Assessment of GOP Health Care...

Late Monday afternoon, the Congressional Budget Office released its report on the House Republican’s proposal to repeal and replace the crumbling ObamaCare law, and it wasn’t pretty. “It finds that under the replacement plan, there would be more 14 million more uninsured people next year than under ObamaCare, and 24 million more uninsured a decade from now,” announced ABC anchor David Muir during World News Tonight. But ABC and the rest of the Big Three networks omitted key details of the bill and it’s only fair to report them.

Diane Black Unplugged: Patient-Centered Health Care

As a registered nurse, Diane Black knows what it’s like to actually provide health care. The fundamental problem with Obamacare was that it disrupted the personal relationship between patients and their doctors while rising costs put real care out of reach for many Americans.

This week, the Budget Committee will act on the American Health Care Act as it moves through the legislative process. Listen to Diane Black, in her own words, discuss how the failures of government-run health care and her commitment to helping patients inspired her to get involved in public service.

The CBO verdict on Trumpcare is in, and the results are somehow even worse than expected — more than 24 million people could be uninsured (or closer to 26 million, if the White House is correct) over the course of the next few years after the overhaul. To be clear, this means thousands upon thousands of people could die. Trump isn’t discouraged though; he’s signaled a willingness to make even more cuts.

Then there’s Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), who thinks lower premiums for some people are more important than keeping peop.... Premiums which, mind you, would be low for all the wrong reasons

Liberals, Progressives, same people just different names used to describe them, are saying that We The People are wrong in wanting PPACA of 2010 repealed. We should keep Obamacare as is. Even though the cost of the premiums continue to rise and most to the major health insurance companies are getting out of the federal, state exchanges.

Angry Dem Impeachment ‘Witness’: Pam Karlan Donated Thousands To Hillary And Was On Clinton’s List For Potential SCOTUS Nomination

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jerrold Nadler, kicked off its first impeachment circus Wednesday morning.

The four ‘witnesses’ testifying have never actually witnessed any of Trump’s dealings with Ukraine firsthand — the four witnesses are law professors offering legal analysis.

One of the witnesses the Dems rolled out is an angry Hillary Clinton donor who was on Crooked’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

No wonder why this unhinged, dowdy woman is so pissed off!

“Professor Pam Karlan donated thousands of dollars to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination. So she certainly has no vendetta against President Trump,” GOP Rep. Mark Walker said.

Congressman Walker also pointed out that Noah Feldman, the Dems first partisan witness in Wednesday’s hearing tweeted about impeaching Trump right after he was sworn in.

Meet Noah Feldman, House Democrats first partisan witness.

Look at the date of this tweet. He has been trying to get @realDonaldTrump impeached since 46 days into his presidency.

His reason? Trump criticized President Obama.

This is a sham impeachment with sham witnesses. https://twitter.com/NoahRFeldman/status/839185127494254592

The next witness, Karlan, has donated thousands to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

So she certainly has no vendetta against @realDonaldTrump.

These witnesses are as serious as House Democrats impeachment case: not at all.

The entire sham show trial is stacked with partisan hacks who have wanted to impeach Trump from the moment he won in November of 2016.

Norm Eisen, the Democrats’ counsel who is blasting Trump and questioning witnesses in Wednesday’s show trial, tweeted about impeaching Trump before Donald Trump was even sworn into office!
