Sen. McCaskill: Move Ferguson Protests to 'Green Space' and Screen for Guns

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) says she'd like to move the ongoing and frequently violent protests in Ferguson to public space that is away from the business district:

"Maybe we can move it to some green space and do some kind of just minimal screening to make sure guns are not going in," McCaskill told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday.

"But right now, there is surveillance going on, and there is a real effort to try to find the people who are actually wanting the confrontation and causing the violence and seeing if we can't begin to be more aggressive about making arrests of those people with the guns, with the weapons, and therefore make it safe for everyone.

"We over-policed for a few days, and then we completely under-policed," she continued. "I think what they're doing now is what they feel they have to do to keep it safe under these dangerous circumstances with these instigators in town."

McCaskill said the media is giving a one-sided view of what's happening in Ferguson.

The confrontations are well-covered, but "nobody's interested in covering any of the efforts that's going on with healing," and that is having a dire impact on small businesses, she said:

"One of my projects now is to figure out how we can pull people back n to shop in Ferguson -- it is perfectly safe in Ferguson during the day. There are many stores and businesses that need our commerce. I hate to see all these great small businesses in Ferguson suffering so terribly because their community is being portrayed in a way that frankly just isn't true."

What the hell she is talking about?  The genius lost me.

I can'tcomment I can't stop laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do they find these people....., what pea brained IDIOT.....!!

The voters.

I am ashamed to say that Claire McCaskill is one of my U.S. Senators.  I opposed her re-election last time around.  She is a dedicated Demonrat/Marxist and total supporter of Barack Obama's MARXIST/COMMUNIST agenda..  That means she has and still is betraying the people of Missouri and the people of the United States.  I hope she can be defeated in her next election cycle.....we wiil be working on this important task.

Exactly... but she only won with the RNC/GOP's support...

You will recall that Todd Akin a former U.S. Representative for Missouri's 2nd congressional district, serving from 2001 to 2013, was running against Sen. Claire McCaskill as the GOP's dully elected candidate...  However, he was summarily thrown under the bus by the RINO's after he misspoke regarding abortion.

He was 10 points ahead of Sen. McCaskill and a sure winner, but the RINO's did not want him to run for the US Senate, from the beginning, and had tried to defeat him in the primaries and lost.  The RNC/GOP Missouri chose to keep him out of the Senate, because he was a very, very strong moral Tea Party Candidate and with a history of being his own man.

The GOP decided they would rather see Sen. McCaskill elected than Rep. Todd Akin. So they sabotaged his campaign siding with Sen. McCaskill and the MSM's misrepresentation of Todd Akin's statement regarding abortion.   This speaks volumes about who is running the GOP today. The Grand Old Party is not the Party of Reagan... not at all.

Col  Nelson,

You are exactly right......that is what happened.  It does prove that the GOP does not represent the interests of the American People or America itself.

I also agree.  Thank you Mo GOP for re-electing Claire.

Until Missouri can get rid of McCaskill & your Governor, I personally will not spend one dime in or knowingly buy anything from Missouri.  I am sure there are many good & decent people in Missouri but maybe if your Democrats/Marxists start losing revenue they will rethink their positions.

We already are losing money. Businesses are fleeing the state. All we have left is the UAW in wait for it ! St. Louis, where it employs mostly blacks. You've seen the video of what they do on breaks with the heavy drinking and drug use. That explains all the recalls and highway deaths cause by p*ss poor cars build in the USA now !

Yea, the voters, the democrats, mostly from KC and St. Louis, keep voting this kitwit back in.

when is the last time mc caskel was ever in Missouri ?

it would be difficult to shop in burned out liquor stores or any burned out stores in furgerson mo. will alternate side of the street parking rules be suspended during riot time ?

don't forget a majority of Missouri voters voted for her.

TRUMP:  Trump To Give ‘Start Your Engines’ Command At Dayton

President Donald Trump will give the command for drivers to start their engines before the Daytona 500.

Daytona International Speedway officials named Trump the grand marshal for NASCAR’s season opener, meaning he will deliver the most famous four words in auto racing. “Gentleman, start your engines,” has been a staple of races around the country and world for decades.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said Thursday the president plans to attend the race. Track president Chip Wile confirmed the news in a release.

“Daytona International Speedway has been privileged to have hosted several sitting presidents of the United States over our history,” Wile said. “We’re honored that the president of the United States has chosen to experience the pageantry and excitement of ‘The Great American Race.’”

Trump is the third sitting president to attend a race at Daytona, but only the second to attend the Daytona 500. George W. Bush attended in 2004. Trump is the first to be given an honorary role in pre-race ceremonies.

Trump is scheduled to spend part of the Presidents Day weekend at his private club in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a flight restriction for Sunday and the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for presidential security, also tweeted to fans that drones are prohibited within 30 miles of the race in Daytona Beach — a restriction put in place for presidential visits.

Trump has hosted previous NASCAR champions at the White House and last October awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to motorsports titan Roger Penske. Last year, Trump also praised retired driver Mario Andretti, the Daytona 500 winner in 1967, reminiscing about a ride Andretti gave him in a race car for his reality show “The Apprentice.”

“I said, ‘Mario, get me out of here. I want to get out of this car,’” Trump recalled. “We went so fast. We literally — we covered four blocks in like a second.”
