Republicans suspect the White House is hiding ObamaCare fallback plan

Some Republicans say they simply do not believe that the Obama administration isn’t developing a fallback plan in case the Supreme Court dismantles a piece of the healthcare law this summer.

Sylvia Burwell, the secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), has repeatedly said there is no plan B if the high court rules that subsidies for insurance cannot be distributed through the federal exchange HealthCare.gov.

Burwell said Tuesday that the White House has “no plans” if the subsidies become illegal.

"No credible person would believe that," Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) told The Hill on Wednesday.

"It would be executive malpractice not to have a plan, a contingency plan, for what happens when that court ruling comes down, and I'm going to assume that this government doesn't practice executive malpractice,” he said.

Burwell’s warning, which was delivered to several GOP offices on Tuesday, dramatically raises the stakes for King V. Burwell. The high court will hear oral arguments in the case on March 4.

Both parties have repeatedly said that a plaintiff victory in the case could cause massive damage to ObamaCare, perhaps even crippling the law.

With such high stakes, Republicans say the administration must be crafting a plan to avert disaster.

"It's hard to fathom that the administration would bury its head in the sand and fail to engage in any contingency planning," said Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), who chairs the health subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The only plan they should have is to dismantle it. The Seniors who are more prone to needing medical care are getting slammed with doubled co-pays and deductibles. Many are putting going to specialists or not going at all. This thing is a mess. I want all of Washington to have to be on this stinking plan. Maybe then they will do something about it.

President Obama was allowed to destroy everything for the elderly and all Americans and nothing but talk is being done about.

I think when these politicians come to speak at events, there should be a hang-mans-noose hanging near where they are speaking.  Just to give them something to think about.

They have 'one' fallback plan.  And that is a mandatory single payer system.  OF course the 'lawmakers' , The illegals, and the croonies of a corrupt regime ...won't have to abide by it.

HIS BACK UP PLAN IS PROBABLY A GUN TO OUR HEADS TO PAY UP OR ELSE . THESE ARE COMMIES AFTER ALL .

Justice Roberts has been plan B from day one. Not sure if he's Obama's dog or pony...Semper Fi Nam 66-67

They can suspect all they want, they lack the cohones to do anything. VIVA LA Teaparty!

This Administration has had one Plan since inception, dismantle the United States of America.   If our Representatives, after thousands of speeches, promising to protect us, look out for our welfare, blah, blah, blah, are afraid to do their Job, then we have an elected body of Cowards.    If these people are so crooked, so compromised, so dastardly incompetent, then we have little hope for a future free of slavery.

Although we may never get it through the senate, there could be letters of impeachment drafted now and this sorry ass President be made aware.  I'm at a point where all of those independents who take offense to that impeachment will only solidify what I've always said, an independent are not trustworthy and are not worth a s--t, they have no principles and would sell out their own parents.

Come on guys!!!  ALL Americans should know by now that TRAITOR President Obama THINKS LIKE A CRIMINAL.  Obama has "contingency plans" for every corrupt, criminal and illegal policy and action that he is CONTINUALLY trying to FORCE onto Americans --- the VAST majority of which disagree with his crimes and power grabs.

Call a spade a spade --- Obama is a corrupt criminal TRAITOR, and his actions and statements reinforce that description every day.

If they have a plan count on the fact it will be far worse than the original.  Its about money not health care.

What do the republicans care anyway?  It's not like they're doing ANYTHING to stop Obama and his thugs from trampling all over us, the Constitution, and our civil rights....

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.
