Republican doctors running for Congress amid O-Care fiasco

Eleven Republican doctors are running for the Senate, hoping that voters will see their medical expertise as an asset amid the administration’s botched rollout of ObamaCare.

“Doctors are in a very unique position to look at the financing of healthcare,” Rep. Paul Broun, a family physician running for the GOP nomination for Georgia’s open Senate seat, told The Hill.

“We go into medicine for one reason, and one reason only: Because we care about people, we want the people who we serve to have a productive, happy, healthy life,” he added. “That’s the kind of policymaker we should have in place in dealing with healthcare policy.”

Doctors running in Senate races from North Carolina to Oregon are all pitching voters on their experience in the medical field.

been saing the same thing for many years but when will that happen?

What could be better than a great conservative?  A great conservative doctor.  Believe me, we need all the medical expertise we can get on the right.  The left wants to control the entire health care insurance and deliver systems in this country with virtually no medical expertise involved.  How scary is that.

well at least their not lawers!!!

Frankly, I think it's about time we had some REAL professionals in Congress. Most doctors have the courage to stand up for what they care about. No one else seems to have the guts to really fight Obamacare.... Maybe these people will...even if it means more money for them... It is certainly one way for a few of the benefits to trickle down to those who need medicl treatment. I don't think they would in any fashion tolerate the death panels both Obamacare and Medicare have recently acquired. A lot of people don't believe they are included in this recent fiasco but, I guarantee that when the non-believers or one of their family members face these death panels, they will believe then! And by that time, it will be too late for them ...and the rest of us!

Hi Twila Harris:

You stated---I don't think they would in any fashion tolerate the death panels both Obamacare and Medicare have recently acquired.

My response is that---I wouldn't be so sure that they would not tolerate death panels.  Not all physicians  hold Conservative values.  Some Medical doctors are very Liberal-leaning, Hippocratic Oath be damned.  They take an oath to "First, do no harm," which is a paraphrase of the whole oath, not necessarily a direct translation of the original Greek, but there are doctors who willingly perform abortions on minors without the parental consent of the patient, and then some doctors willingly ask certain private questions that do not pertain to health but will be submitted in a data bank that will be accessible to Government entities.

I worked for the Government some time ago, and my Clearance allowed me to over-reach into personal data of private citizens.  How far will doctors go if they get into office and they turn out to be "in the tank for Obama?"

Hi Oren:

Once bitten twice shy.  As Conservatives we already know the drill.

There is just not enough of us to turn this Leviathan around.

All the warnings, all the cautions we gave out and still the people, the masses

voted against themselves.

I am not a Conspiracists; I rely on cold, hard, provable facts.  Numbers can sometimes

lie, but eventually the truth wills out.  By the way, do you think Government-employed

lackeys are reading these Conservative sites and taking names?  Sometimes I wish I hadn't used my real name.  But my name is already out there in cyberspace.  I believe there's a list being compiled for "enemies of the Obama state."

Obamacare just keeps on giving.  Doctors replacing lawyers, hearing-aid coverage congress can live with..Semper Fi

good but check out their math abilities! have yet to see anyone elected that is truly non-self serving except for Governor Scott of Florida and Representative Rich Nugent!

Gohmert: Dems Will Drag Out Impeachment — Try To Get ‘Best Socialist’ Nominated For President

During an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN on Thursday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) offered his best assessment of what House Democrats were trying to accomplish with their impeachment efforts.

Gohmert told WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show” impeachment could tie up the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign efforts but predicted Democrats would use the occasion to nominate “the best socialist” they can.

“They would lose in the Senate,” Gohmert said on impeachment. “And besides that, the entire time it was on trial in the Senate, the Democrats who are running for president wouldn’t be allowed to campaign. That’s in the Constitution. They wouldn’t be able to campaign. I just can’t imagine them wanting to do that because if they send it to the Senate, they have now perfectly set up the scenario of 1996, where they will reassure Donald Trump is reelected as president. They don’t want to do that. They’re probably going to drag this thing out as long as they possibly can … through Iowa, through primaries — try to get the best socialist they can to be nominated.”

“Then just end up and say, ‘Now we’re close enough to the general election. We’ve thrown mud at the president through the House,’” he continued. “What they’re really doing — they’re using taxpayer funds to campaign against Trump. That’s all this is — a campaign fund that taxpayers are paying for in order to try to throw mud at the president. I’ll be surprised if they have that vote, but I can’t imagine they want to set up this president for reelection by having a trial in the Senate where they lose.”
