Police Can Ransack Your Vehicle Without Your Presence?

police check car for drugs

A Tampa man is upset after returning to his expensive, decked out business truck after a concert to find it had been broken into and trashed. When he read the 2×3 scratched out note attached to the truck, he was most surprised to see that it was from Tampa police.

Sir, your car was checked by TPD K-9. The vehicle was searched for marijuana due to a strong odor coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. Any questions call Cpl Fanning.

That was the only notice left behind. Of course, no drugs were actually found.

POLL: Is the United States becoming a Police State?

Unfortunately, they ripped out the very materials he needs to run his business – like horns that no longer work and expensive electronics. And they are going to fight any legal attempts for compensation.

The department says it was legal, but an attorney said it’s an illegal search and only allowed under extreme, urgent circumstance.

Has he contacted his attorney??? AND IF not - why not???  THIS IS BS! and still against the law!  What little we have left. Talk about a  "Police State". The police are what I FEAR MOST in this country. I would rather die bleeding to death than to call the cops for ANYTHING!!!

Did they ever find out WHERE the smell was coming from?  Or did they CARE?  Or WAS THERE EVEN A SMELL?

El Fuzzo need to be taken to tsk for this kind of nonsense.  I hope he is able to recover the losses he suffered at the hands of the out-of-control Tampa fuzz.

I'll bet a drug dog to be the usual alibi. Since the dog can't explain how the odor was first encountered, guess who explains away how the drug dog just happened along?

Property searches based on probable cause or warrantless condition may easily devolve into property being ransacked wthout the interested party as monitor, because the interested party wasn't there.

Sounds like WWll Germany to me.

YEP Mark Smithey. Your Right IT feels that way to me as well.

Your right Randal H. but it's not just Tampa The shame of it ,it's every where and the more they get away with the worse it gets, hell here in Pa we have a Republican sepream court Oath Breaking Judge that says that the 4th amendement is no longer pertnent and the cops don't need probial cause or even a reason to pull you from your car and search it for any reason and arrest you on the spot for suspecian of anything, the courts and these unconstitutional judges and courts are makeing the cops, judge, jurry and in some cases exacutiners. Yet one Phycopath stabes 3- and shots 3.- and oh the public out cry and rage against Guns . But these guys are murdering and brutely beating and mameing  and killing inocent citizens they estimate that the numbers will be well over 600 hundred KILLED this year alone  and YET were is the Public out cry to dissarm or reduce their force sizes.

What's next? If a Police Officer likes your car and decides he wants it, can he ask a judge to force you to give it to him?!

What do you think will take place when you put commies in office?

sure now they can plant drugs in your car??

Yep , Josephine, with something like this they may only be limited by what their evil minds can think up.... Can you imagine if you made someone mad and then he has friends on the force that could do that... you are up a creek after that !! They could wipeout whoever they want and make it look legal

Terrance,

NO way in H*** will ever be subjects.   We have reached a tipping point in LE.  A very close confidant of mine turned in his retirement notice because he's become so dissatisfied and frustrated with the Politics and BS with Senior level LE.

The time has come when we as citizens must hold anyone and everyone in any positions of authority accountable for their unlawful actions and if need be make a citizens arrest and have them served for prosecution.  If need be have a jury demand case.   What we cannot afford is to be the ones who break the rule of law because they will take advantage of any actions they deem unlawful as a reason to mount an assault .

If it comes to an all out conflict we must be prepared to re-establish the rule of law, without it anarchy and mob rule  will destroy our communities and our Country.

I'll leave you with this one final thought.  The hardest thing any oboe of us will have to do in  out lifetime is harm another individual.  I would highly recommend that we all read up on the psychology of war, death, disaster and mental healing because it looks like we are just about at the point of no return.

What happens when the cops find a car or any vehicle they want, to say they found drugs in your unoccupied vehicle, so they are impounding it for the police department. NO defense, no right to question the police action at all. Just total out of control police. We have no power at all, we can be arrested for any back talk to these traitors. It's time to Restore not Change America. I Don Cordell can stop this if I'm elected President in 2016. google my name for answers to solve this problem.

Yikes !!! Ocasio-Cortez: We Need A ‘Multigendered, Multigeographic’ United States

The United States of America needs to be “multigendered” and “multigeographic,” according to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who endorsed fellow socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at the “Bernie’s Back Rally” in New York on Saturday.

The freshman lawmaker and “Squad” member officially endorsed Sanders during a rally in Queensbridge Park in Long Island City, New York, on Saturday and called for more diversity in the U.S., arguing that it should not only be “multiracial” and “multigenerational” but “multigeographic” and “multigendered.”

“We need a United States that really, truly, and authentically is operated, owned, and decided by working – and all – people in the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez said to applause.

“That is what it – it is multiracial, multigendered, multigenerational, and multigeographic,” she said, failing to elaborate on what that specifically looks like.

“We have to come together, not ignoring our differences but listening to them, prioritizing them, understanding injustice,” she continued.

The socialist lawmaker also implied that rampant racism is still alive and well in the U.S., telling the crowd that it is essential to understand “that we operate in a context where slavery evolved into Jim Crow, evolved into mass incarceration, [and] evolved into the realities we have today.”
