Paul Krugman, the liberal Nobel Prize-winning columnist for the New York Times, thinks California is making an economic comeback.

He attributes this mostly to the Republican party’s steady decline in the state, which left Governor Jerry Brown “free to push an agenda of tax hikes and infrastructure spending that sounds remarkably like the kind of thing California used to do before the rise of the radical right.”

But the results of Brown’s most recent tax increases are hardly relieving economic pressures on the nearly two million Californians that remain unemployed in the Democrat-dominated state, whose numbers are growing, not declining.

The truth is that the Democrats, who totally control policies in the state by virtue of "supermajorities" in both houses of the State Legislature, are making California increasingly poorer; the Census Bureau announced last week that California has the highest poverty rate in the nation for the second year in a row. Yet despite California's dreary economic conditions, some of California's Democratic lawmakers are making themselves or their campaign committees richer in a personal sort of "economic comeback," and, in some cases, they are doing so by breaking the law.

One recent investigation into payoffs in the State Capitol has been breathtaking. Powerful liberal Democratic State Senator Ron Calderon recently had his office in the state capitol building raided by the FBI’s Public Corruption Squad. According to the FBI’s search warrant, which was obtained and released by the Al Jazeera American Network, probable cause for the raid included allegations that the Senator had received hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for legislative favors, including: $60,000 in bribes from an undercover FBI agent; another $28,000 in bribes from a hospital executive; and tens of thousands of dollars more in bribes paid to the State Senator’s brother through a nonprofit organization.

In other investigations, a Democratic Assemblyman from Watsonville was fined by the state’s campaign finance commission for illegally coordinating his successful election with an independent effort that spent tens of thousands of dollars. Another former Democratic State Senate leader faces “record fines” for misusing his campaign funds on concert tickets, fireworks, and expensive dinners.

The same "one-party rule" worked wonders in Detroit.....LOL!!!

looks like the land of 'Milk and Honey' has become the land of 'Milk'um Honey'!

California is no longer the golden state but is now the "brown" state.

The brown in California is all over the state and not just their under-ware.

You're a lot of help.  Thanks a lot for being so snotty and so eager to kick us while we're down.  Ronald Reagan came from here.  I wish he were alive for you to say that to his face.  You think you're so funny.  Our state is about to be overrun, and not just by people from south of our borders.  We also have Chinese from mainland China buying up high value property in the middle of High Tech R & D.  Russia also has business dealings and they have offices in the Old Presidio smack in the middle of San Francisco Golden Gate Park, where the US Army used to guard our San Francisco Bay.  How dare those Russians step foot on soil purchased by US military blood.  The Left are sharpening their knives for more to follow.  Beware Americans from other states, you guys are next.

I was in Baghdad representing you, your family, and our country to protect our Constitution and our way of life.  I knew some of those kids who died some weeks after we had arrived (May 2003-July 2004).  Sometime after Christmas 2003 I checked the numbers of our KIA, just the KIA  (dead US military).   California had at or near 1000, more than the next three states combined:  Texas, Georgia, South Carolina.  And those soldiers (TX, GA, SC) used to brag that they bled red, white, and blue because they were Southerners who knew how to fight and use guns since they were little.  But the numbers could not be denied.  California military members, yes, the children of California, died in higher numbers.  We paid a price.  You can call California "kalifornia, californicate, pencil it in" but I know that our people, those Californians you call communists died in the service of the United States of America, and those Californians are not coming back to their families, but you get to see yours every day.

It's an honor to serve under the flag of the United States of America.  The flag I wore on my sleeve includes all 50 states, all of the states I vowed to protect and even die for.  I am sorry for the treatment your husband suffered under the hands of ungrateful liberal hippy malcontents.  They had no idea what we were fighting for:  protecting Viet Nam from being taken over by Communist China.

I am sure your husband would agree with me that one shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water.  Why hate the state of California?  Couldn't you just direct your anger against the Liberals who hi-jacked this state?  Do you also hate Hawaii for having covered up Obama's falsified birth certificate that Neil Abercrombie authorized?  How about Michigan, do you also hate Michigan for harboring kids in sleeper cells that will one day attack the United States when they get their orders?  How about New York?  Do you also hate the New York Jews and New York for being receptive to allowing a mosque to be built so close to Ground Zero, or that New York accepts the UN building on American soil?

As I write this, I think of those young people who died in Baghdad. There were a lot of Californians, and to their numbers are added Americans from all over the US.  It doesn't matter now from which state they came.  They paid the price in blood so you can have your freedom to think and feel how you want.  You can hate on any state you choose because the sacrifice of all those service members from every war allows you the freedom to do so.

to defend your position first you must understand it.

California has been used by agencies to degrade its purpose. As it was the bread basket of this nation at one time. n th 70's California had by itsself the 7 th largest economy in the world.  California was a republic when it joined the United States as was texas. But both states have had to defend against the Element which right now undertakes to remove the Peoples Constitution as it has removed itsself from it.

You see its always been the people who were the soveriegn which the federal government took  many years to tear down the soveriegnity of the people through mis-education, police intigration, drugs and by any other  means. i have reported in here many times of Hegelian Dialectic which has been used to remove the Republic and now comes forth to make itsself ruler over the masses.

The open borders and Goverment giving La-Raza and other Mexican organizations the monetary ability to fight with you  the people. Its all staged and psy-oped now youll see Black against white again as this terrorist group in power makes its final bid to secure your State, my State, and every state into 5 regions within their power structure.

good luck California.

To add insult to injury, we now have an outsider, Janet Napolitano, the former governor from another state, taking our hard-earned tax dollars to the tune of 5 million, and instead of helping lower the tuition for legal American (California) University of California students, will now freely give it to illegal aliens to help them study and take seats away from Americans.

I just don't know what it will take for Californians to see that where there is smoke there surely will be fire.

I'm shocked.  SHOCKED I tell you.  So the Demoncrap party is corrupt?  Oh, say it ain't so!

Isn't that why they buy votes and rig elections?   ... naw, can't be ....

This what you get when Liberals or running the show, Lies, Corruption, Immorality, and Economic  Woes,  and as long as they worship the Hollywood Elites it will continue.

Shocked. I'm shocked, I tell you. That politicians would misuse campaign funds and taxpayer dollars to line their own pockets and to consolidate their political power has become, at least to this observer, the norm. Nobody bats an eye at this behavior and the American press isn't even interested unless the transgressor is a Conservative or a Republican. One question that deserves to be asked is, "Why is Al Jazeera the network that gained and made this story public?" What happened to the AP, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, MSNBC and NBC? Doesn't anyone do any investigative reporting anymore? Or do they just reserve that for Republican administrations?

As for Krugman's observations about California's economic comeback, my first comment is the question, "What comeback?" Until the state stops offering free education, healthcare, housing, and welfare to every illegal that asks for it, there will be no recovery. As long as there are Californians that make more money by sitting home pumping out welfare babies than by working, the state's economy is doomed. Jerry Brown and the Democrat's absolute control of California's government will see the state's economy collapse of its own massive indebtedness. Taxing the crap out of the wealthy, spending more money than you have on infrastructure to provide jobs that go away at the end of each project, and massive welfare programs are the economic equivalent of alchemy where chemists would try to make gold from less precious materials. Good luck, California.

TOTAL BULLSHIT!: Trump Goes Off On Mueller Report, People Who ‘Take So-Called Notes'

After a 22-month investigation — with 2,800 subpoenas, 500 witnesses and 500 search warrants, which generated thousands of pages of information, all costing upwards of $30 million — the media boiled it all down to two words: “I’m fucked.”

The media, toeing the line for Hillary Clinton — who, after her shocking and humiliating loss decided that she needed someone or something to blame and pointed a crooked finger at Russia — decided that President Trump all but admitted his alleged crimes with those two words.

In his report revealed on Thursday, Robert Mueller described a scene in the Oval Office that allegedly took place right after he was appointed special counsel and charged with investigating allegations that Trump or his campaign minions colluded with Russia to alter the outcome of the 2020 election.

“Oh my God,” the president told then Attorney General Jeff Sessions, according to the report. “This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I’m fucked.” The interaction was recorded in notes taken by Session’s chief of staff, Jody Hunt.

Many media outlets did not include the context, which was plainly spoken by Trump at the same time. “Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency,” Trump said. “It takes years and years and I won’t be able to do anything. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me.”

Luckily for America, he has been able to work through it all, returning the economy to its past glory, achieving record lows in unemployment, and much more.

Now, Trump is taking aim at “people that take so-called ‘notes.’ “

“Statements are made about me by certain people in the Crazy Mueller Report, in itself written by 18 Angry Democrat Trump Haters, which are fabricated & totally untrue. Watch out for people that take so-called ‘notes, when the notes never existed until needed. Because I never….” Trump wrote Friday morning on Twitter.

Trump got worked up after that, calling some tales told in the report “total bullshit.”

“[I]t was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the ‘Report’ about me, some of which are total bullshit & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad). This was an Illegally Started Hoax that never should have happened,” he wrote.

Late Thursday night, Trump also praised Wall Street Journal opinion writer Kimberley Strassel, saying she “should get the Pulitzer. She is a treasure (and I don’t know her) who correctly called the Russia Hoax right from the start! Others who were soooo wrong will get the Prize. Fake News!”

Jump to "where the Mueller team lists its 'prosecution and declination' decisions . . . try not to picture Mueller 'pit bull' prosecutor Andrew Weissmann collapsed under mountains of federal statutes after his two-year hunt to find one that applied."

In a tweet on Thursday, Strassel perfectly summed up the contents of the Mueller report.

“1) What is in the Mueller report: –endless, unrevealing details of inconsequential interaction between trump folks and Russians. –remarkable details about the many and varied statutes the SC [special counsel] nonetheless debated using to tie someone up for something on the Russia front,” she wrote.
