On The Hunt: "We're Going to Find The Leakers And They're Going to Pay a Big Price"

As stories containing closely held intelligence details keep on coming, the White House and Congress have launched serious and expansive investigations into who is leaking information to the press.

While Press Secretary Sean Spicer said earlier this week former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn was asked to resign over an irreconcilable breach of trust, the issue of people inside government leaking damaging information for political purposes has been a main focus within the administration.

First, President Trump is livid. Over the past two days Trump has repeatedly called leaks a "criminal act" and said at the White House today, "We're going to find the leakers and they're going to pay a big price."

Leaking Confidential, or Classified information is a Crime, don't let anyone try to tell you it isn't.  We have become accustomed to the leaks cluttering the front pages of the rags called "News" papers, and we have accepted the leaks as good Journalism.  Well, it isn't.  They cover themselves by adding, "...the source will remain anonymous as he/she is not authorized to release the story".  If the source is not authorized, why is the press printing the story?  I, for one, find this ludicrous in that that would be classified as conspiracy; If one receives confidential, or classified information from someone that is not authorized, then prints it, that meets the definition of the crime of conspiracy, a Felony.  This is not news, it is a leak covered under the espionage acts.  Quit paying for and reading the news rags that report it.  They will stop as soon as it starts hitting their bottom line.

The FBI should start dragging some of these "reporters" that grab the unauthorized information and publicly release it.  Throw some of them in prison for the Felony charge of Conspiracy and you will see how quickly the leaks stop being reported in the "News".

Trump should have Sessions... select two or three high profile cases and then go after the Publisher, journalist and anyone on their staff that handled classified information... charging them with espionage, sedition and or treason... the case for treason should be the one's selected as that will certainly get everyone's attention.

Prosecute these reprobates... put them away Pres. Trump.

BRING IT ON PRESIDENT TRUMP...WE GOT YOUR BACK

I don't see how we will avoid blood in the streets this summer. Jail offenders and if they don't get the message jail them again. Back to law and order.

Go after these traitors, my gut says Soros Oslimball and Clinton have their embedded jihadist working as spy's in top intelligence agencies of the government. Surely their is a conspiracy to overthrow this government, the left is getting desperate that Trump will dismantled their infrastructure to do so. Then theirs the real possibility that they could be charged with high crimes and be severely punished. The possibility becomes greater every day Trump begins draining the swamp.

God Bless America and the State of Israel

LOIS LERNER -- the recent best example of what swamp most needs drained - the bureaucracy.

if President Trump is sincere in his pledge to drain the swamp, that's where his efforts will be most effective. The current reality of un-fireable political activists in key positions throughout the bureaucracy must end, Transferring or retiring them as 'punishment' doesn't accomplish a damn thing, other than putting the loyal political activist into another key position or living comfortably in their tax payer paid retirement..

If I was him I'd take this opportunity to focus on that - and probably start by de-unionizing federal employment - while at the same time putting some of them in jail for this incident.

But they can be discharged, if one is performing good honorable service keep them. If a person is not performing and becomes a threat or commits a crime send them to federal prison. Nobody is beyond the law, the problem is the justice dept needs to do their job. This is why I have such a problem with all politicians they are theatrical (performers) working to pacify us with one promise then another and another. I believe Trump is what he says but the rest are still professional politicians that have deep rooted friendships with those they would have to charge with crimes, bring to trial, sentence and imprison them. I doubt we will ever see that happen. A year from now you'll look back and see that compromise by the Justice Dept has persisted. All politicians have skeletons in their closets, dirt on their faces. Other than Trump tell me the last time any of us remember s a promise kept by a politican. Last, get yourselves ready it will be a bloody summer in America that's not a wish it's a prognostication. May the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob have mercy on America.

we're in agreement on - This is why I have such a problem with all politicians they are theatrical (performers) working to pacify us with one promise then another and another.

I equate them to snake oil peddlers, doing exactly the same thing - peddling laws as the solution/ointment to cure all our problems. what a bunch of hooey.

----

no doubt the swamp the politicians reside in needs drained too, but my position is that what's going on right now demonstrates how the bureaucracy full of progressive political activists is the bigger problem. We have the means to shuffle the snake oil peddlers every 2-4-6 years, but a change of guard at that level still has the same bureaucracy in place.

btw -- you're not the 1st to tell me I'm wrong about 'un-fireable', but over the decades I've not seen even 1 Lois Lerner fired. If I did a search I think it'd be pretty easy to find many articles/documents in the news throughout the past decade or so discussing stuff like federal employees drawing pay for doing nothing at all, some for years, due to their being 'punished'. I'm no guru on the matter, but decades of observation tell me they're essentially unfireable.

You are correct, we are on the same page, I am focussed on a Justice Dept that could if it did its job, which it will not, could charge these people for their treasonous leaking but it will not happen. Hillary Clinton, Obama and all the rest stole money from the state Dept to the tune of 6 billion sold arms to our enemies, sold uranium to Russia, used a tax exempt charitable to wash money international on and on and FBI Director Comey, L.Lynch and now Jeff Sessions will I qurantee you not bring these people to justice.
I am totally fed up with this garbage Trump cannot do it alone. The GOP sets on there right thumb while sucking their left.
You do a fine job just like most TP activist, keep do what you do. Please overlook my rants, I get so angry with the lies of politicians and their failure to do their jobs. Listen to them on the TV, they are so absorbed with self, constantly stroking self, it's actually sickening. The Democrats are what they are, they're my sworn enemies justified by my oaths.
Republicans are getting close to that line in the sand for their cowards behavior of talk and no action, that is why I claim they will do nothing. All of them democrat or republican walking about all puffed up, look at me I'm so important.
I love our Country, I fear no man, I do fear trashing a nation that's foundation was a covenant with God. Politicians have given away what doesn't belong to them, that angers God. If for no other reason for Trump to retain my support and respect for him it is his unwavering support for Israel. We have the promise of God to be Blessed if we first stand with Israel.

God Bless America and the State of Israel

Live Free or Die

well said Phillip.

..and I don't intend to ignore your 'rants' or disapprove of your anger  ;' /   we're far too much in agreement to do that

9thA, I never was In disagreement with you I am angry at a Justice Dept that is doing nothing, past and present. Thank you, most of us here have very similar hearts.

Sessions had better start cleaning the Swamp very soon... or it won't happen at all. That will piss me off more than any single event.  Trump needs to kick butt... he must have an effective AG.

ALERT ALERT

Breaking:  FBI Admits Comey Leaked Memos
 That Were Classified   Material!

The FBI turned over the Comey memos to Congress today after missing their deadline earlier in the week.

Congressional leaders threatened to impeach deep state leaders if they continued to stall on the memos.

Fired FBI Chief James Comey wrote about the memos in his book and leaked the documents to reporters last year. Congress has not yet had a chance to look at the memos — Until tonight.

AND—– THE MEMOS ARE CLASSIFIED!

Meaning Fired FBI Chief James Comey leaked CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS TO THE PRESS.

From the report:

From the DOJ to Congress:

Therefore, pursuant to your request, we are providing the requested memoranda in both the redacted and unredacted formats for your convenience. Consistent with your request, we are providing an unclassified version of the documents redacted to remove any classified information.

The DOJ wrote Congressional leaders this evening.

Hannity: Good news for Trump, crushing blows for the left

GOP Congressional Leaders Nunes, Gowdy And Goodlatte Release Statement On Comey Memos

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Ca.), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) issued a statement on the memos later tonight.

The House chairmen note that the memos prove that fired Director Comey never felt obstructed or threatened from his relationship with the president.

And… former Director Comey leaked at least one of these memos for the stated purpose of spurring the appointment of Special Counsel.

The Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence published the statement tonight:

Today House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Ca.), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) issued the following statement:

“We have long argued former Director Comey’s self-styled memos should be in the public domain, subject to any classification redactions. These memos are significant for both what is in them and what is not.

Former Director Comey’s memos show the President made clear he wanted allegations of collusion, coordination, and conspiracy between his campaign and Russia fully investigated. The memos also made clear the ‘cloud’ President Trump wanted lifted was not the Russian interference in the 2016 election cloud, rather it was the salacious, unsubstantiated allegations related to personal conduct leveled in the dossier.

The memos also show former Director Comey never wrote that he felt obstructed or threatened. While former Director Comey went to great lengths to set dining room scenes, discuss height requirements, describe the multiple times he felt complimented, and myriad other extraneous facts, he never once mentioned the most relevant fact of all, which was whether he felt obstructed in his investigation.

The memos also make certain what has become increasingly clear of late: former Director Comey has at least two different standards in his interactions with others. He chose not to memorialize conversations with President Obama, Attorney General Lynch, Secretary Clinton, Andrew McCabe or others, but he immediately began to memorialize conversations with President Trump. It is significant former Director Comey made no effort to memorialize conversations with former Attorney General Lynch despite concerns apparently significant enough to warrant his unprecedented appropriation of the charging decision away from her and the Department of Justice in July of 2016.

These memos also lay bare the notion that former Director Comey is not motivated by animus. He was willing to work for someone he deemed morally unsuited for office, capable of lying, requiring of personal loyalty, worthy of impeachment, and sharing the traits of a mob boss. Former Director Comey was willing to overlook all of the aforementioned characteristics in order to keep his job. In his eyes, the real crime was his own firing.

The memos show Comey was blind to biases within the FBI and had terrible judgment with respect to his deputy Andrew McCabe. On multiple occasions he, in his own words, defended the character of McCabe after President Trump questioned McCabe.

Finally, former Director Comey leaked at least one of these memos for the stated purpose of spurring the appointment of Special Counsel, yet he took no steps to spur the appointment of Special Counsel when he had significant concerns about the objectivity of the Department of Justice under Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

As we have consistently said, rather than making a criminal case for obstruction or interference with an ongoing investigation, these memos would be Defense Exhibit A should such a charge be made.”
