How about when Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman donated MILLIONS to your foundation when you were Secretary of State and then you conducted official US business with them?
As stories containing closely held intelligence details keep on coming, the White House and Congress have launched serious and expansive investigations into who is leaking information to the press.
While Press Secretary Sean Spicer said earlier this week former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn was asked to resign over an irreconcilable breach of trust, the issue of people inside government leaking damaging information for political purposes has been a main focus within the administration.
First, President Trump is livid. Over the past two days Trump has repeatedly called leaks a "criminal act" and said at the White House today, "We're going to find the leakers and they're going to pay a big price."
Leaking Confidential, or Classified information is a Crime, don't let anyone try to tell you it isn't. We have become accustomed to the leaks cluttering the front pages of the rags called "News" papers, and we have accepted the leaks as good Journalism. Well, it isn't. They cover themselves by adding, "...the source will remain anonymous as he/she is not authorized to release the story". If the source is not authorized, why is the press printing the story? I, for one, find this ludicrous in that that would be classified as conspiracy; If one receives confidential, or classified information from someone that is not authorized, then prints it, that meets the definition of the crime of conspiracy, a Felony. This is not news, it is a leak covered under the espionage acts. Quit paying for and reading the news rags that report it. They will stop as soon as it starts hitting their bottom line.
The FBI should start dragging some of these "reporters" that grab the unauthorized information and publicly release it. Throw some of them in prison for the Felony charge of Conspiracy and you will see how quickly the leaks stop being reported in the "News".
Trump should have Sessions... select two or three high profile cases and then go after the Publisher, journalist and anyone on their staff that handled classified information... charging them with espionage, sedition and or treason... the case for treason should be the one's selected as that will certainly get everyone's attention.
Prosecute these reprobates... put them away Pres. Trump.
BRING IT ON PRESIDENT TRUMP...WE GOT YOUR BACK
LOIS LERNER -- the recent best example of what swamp most needs drained - the bureaucracy.
if President Trump is sincere in his pledge to drain the swamp, that's where his efforts will be most effective. The current reality of un-fireable political activists in key positions throughout the bureaucracy must end, Transferring or retiring them as 'punishment' doesn't accomplish a damn thing, other than putting the loyal political activist into another key position or living comfortably in their tax payer paid retirement..
If I was him I'd take this opportunity to focus on that - and probably start by de-unionizing federal employment - while at the same time putting some of them in jail for this incident.
we're in agreement on - This is why I have such a problem with all politicians they are theatrical (performers) working to pacify us with one promise then another and another.
I equate them to snake oil peddlers, doing exactly the same thing - peddling laws as the solution/ointment to cure all our problems. what a bunch of hooey.
no doubt the swamp the politicians reside in needs drained too, but my position is that what's going on right now demonstrates how the bureaucracy full of progressive political activists is the bigger problem. We have the means to shuffle the snake oil peddlers every 2-4-6 years, but a change of guard at that level still has the same bureaucracy in place.
btw -- you're not the 1st to tell me I'm wrong about 'un-fireable', but over the decades I've not seen even 1 Lois Lerner fired. If I did a search I think it'd be pretty easy to find many articles/documents in the news throughout the past decade or so discussing stuff like federal employees drawing pay for doing nothing at all, some for years, due to their being 'punished'. I'm no guru on the matter, but decades of observation tell me they're essentially unfireable.
well said Phillip.
..and I don't intend to ignore your 'rants' or disapprove of your anger ;' / we're far too much in agreement to do that
Sessions had better start cleaning the Swamp very soon... or it won't happen at all. That will piss me off more than any single event. Trump needs to kick butt... he must have an effective AG.
