Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced an investigation has uncovered that hundreds of non-US citizens are registered to vote in the state, and dozens of them voted illegally.
According to a release from Husted, 385 people who are not citizens of the United States are registered to vote in Ohio. Out of those, 82 voted in at least one election in the last year.
Husted’s office says the 82 non-citizens who are registered to vote and cast ballots will be immediately referred to law enforcement for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“In light of the national discussion about illegal voting it is important to inform our discussions with facts. The fact is voter fraud happens, it is rare and when it happens, we hold people accountable,” Secretary Husted said.
19 of the 82 non-citizens voted in the central Ohio area. 14 of those were in Franklin County, 2 were in Delaware County and 1 each in Fairfield, Licking and Union Counties.
The 303 registered voters identified as non-citizens who have notcast a ballot will be sent letters both informing them that non-citizens are not eligible to vote and requesting that they cancel their registration. A follow-up letter will be sent to any individuals that still remain on the rolls after 30 days. Any non-citizens identified that remain on the rolls after being contacted twice will then be referred to law enforcement, according to Husted.
@ Marilyn----------Right, much less expensive, and "Yuge" penalties for re-entry. O'Reilly had that one right, with "Jane's Law". I can't see feeding, housing and giving them Medical Care, when they are not our responsibility, let their Country bear the expense. Get them off our Dollar!
Yuge penalties levied against indigent illegal aliens is not a deterrent... these individuals don't have the resources to pay fines and never will. They don't fear United State Prisons as the living conditions in a US Prison that are better than their homes in Mexico. Putting them in prison gives them access to better living conditions, medical and educational benefits, they don't have in Mexico.
What America needs to do is to find ways to penalize Mexico... bill them and attach their assets in the US, until they stop aiding and abetting the invasion of America, by their citizens and those who transit Mexico for the purpose of illegally entering the US. We must consider heavy sanctions .. financial, commercial, and cultural.. Send all their citizens here legally... back to Mexico... until they cooperate.
Yes, yes, yes.
Being from Ohio, AG Husted has and is doing a good job.
The only problem is, he will probably be overruled by our not-so-great gov. john kasich, since he is so pro-immigrant.
There are many good conservatives here in Ohio, but sometimes they are fighting a losing battle with him at the helm. I cannot wait till his term is over. The real problem is, we don't know at this point who will take his place. It could be a liberal demorat.
New info on Cinci Spirit of America
Oh darn, because of an over crowding???????????
BS???? Thousands of people go to that mall on the weekend.
The demorat mayor of Cinci. told the powers to be, "Don't let them meet at the Kenwood Mall, because there are to many people who go to that mall and most are high dollar people. Send them to Sharon Woods Park, which is a park in the middle of no where and the only people who will know about it or see them, is themselves."
And by the way, it is NOT nearby. About 15 miles away in a lower income area of Cinci. That park is noted for drugs and other sorted activities.
I would bet anything this is the case. ANY TAKERS??
They should have held it in Butler County, just north of Cinci. (30 min) where 95% of the people are conservative!!!
You are right. The Cinci mayor, who proclaimed Cinci a sanctuary city, is a D rat and should be arrested with the rest of the traitors.
Yep, the now, city of losers! A demorat mayor, losing baseball team and losing football team.
The city has gone to the dogs ever since he took over and will look like Detroit very soon. But what should one expect when 52% of the population is black and close to 20% is hispanic.
Cinci has done nothing but go downhill the entire 0 terms.
Yep, and it doesn't look like there is any hope for the future of Cinci. Ever since all the good people started moving out of Cincinnati proper, it has went down so fast it would make your head spin.
The only reason it still remains a nice city, is most of those "good" people work down town. Otherwise it would just be a matter of time before it looks like Detroit.
Then you good people need to change the "helm"
Thank God John Kasich is not the AG of Ohio.
