Obama: New citizens can skip pledge to take up arms and defend the U.S.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Tuesday said it will no longer require incoming U.S. citizens to pledge that they will "bear arms on behalf of the United States" or "perform noncombatant service" in the Armed Forces as part of the naturalization process.

Those lines are in the Oath of Allegiance that people recite as they become U.S. citizens. But USCIS said people "may" be able to exclude those phrases for reasons related to religion or if they have a conscientious objection.

USCIS said people with certain religious training or with a "deeply held moral or ethical code" may not have to say the phrases as they are naturalized.

The agency said people don't have to belong to a specific church or religion to use this exemption, and may attest to U.S. officials administering the oath that they have these beliefs.

USCIS said it would take "feedback" on this policy change through August 4, 2015.

What was good for the previous new citizens is good for the current. If they can't pledge allegiance to the new country then they have no rights to become a citizen. They need to return to their home countries. They pledge to uphold our laws and protect this country. If they can't do that then they don't want to be a part of our country, only take what they want and support their home country.

Exactly!

If these new citizens are not willing to fight and proteck this country then they do not belong here !

Would this also exempt them from the draft? You bet it would!

Treasonous bureaucrats need to be dragged out onto Pennsylvania Avenue and tarred and feathered.

They should be arrested and jailed indefinitely.

Now THAT'S a plan I can get behind....

what do you have against tar.  We need the roads fixed.  We need to just vote these bas----- a place in hell

But they have to get vaccinated ! Can't use religious or philosophical reasons to opt out of vaccinations.

foreigners have a right to stand on their "deeply held moral or ethical code" but citizens who are Christians do not!!!!!   The fuehrer declares it so shall it be by dictate of the fuehrer and no one may oppose it.  Hello Nazi Germany!!!!!  We the People need to get this asshat on a gallows el pronto!!!!!

There you have it. Giving weapons to people WHO ARE NOT, US CITIZENS.

Who said they were giving weapons to people who don't take the pledge?  I didn't read that anywhere. Only that they could skip the pledge of protecting our country by joining the military when the law requires.

CONFUSION:   Pelosi Says Constitution Spells Out ‘Two Co-Equal Branches’ Of Government

No Nancy. No.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi must be taking night classes at the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez School of Government.

Pelosi, the 79-year-old third-highest ranking official in the U.S. government, was speaking to the Center for American Progress today when she mistakenly said there are “two co-equal branches” of government, before correcting herself to say there are three.

Watch:

“First of all, let me just say, we take an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pelosi said.

“Democrats take that oath seriously, and we are committed to honoring our oath of office. I’m not sure that our Republican colleagues share that commitment, and I’m not sure that the president of the United States does, too,” she claimed.

“So, in light of the fact that the beauty of the Constitution is a system of checks and balances— two co-equal branches— three co-equal branches of government,” she corrected with a laugh.

“A check and balance on each other,” she continued. “Con— Constitution spells out the pri— pa, uh, the duties of Congress and one of them is oversight of the president of the United States, another one of them is to impeach the president of the United States,” Pelosi said.

In November, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rallied supporters on Facebook to pitch in and help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”

“…the Progressive movement works and it wins in all districts…If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress– three chambers of government…,” she said during the virtual appearance.

She clarified that she meant the “presidency, the Senate and the House.”

According to the Constitution, the three branches of government are the legislative, executive and judicial.
