Military Ousts Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt

On Wednesday, Gen. Abdel Fatah Said Al-Sisi announced a military coup in Egypt. He said that the Constitution had been suspended, that early elections would take place, and that there would be a “code of ethics” for the media. He stated that the chief of the Constitutional court would be taking charge during a transitional period before another election. He said the new government would be “diverse and include all the people,” and that the constitution would be revised to reverse changes made by ousted Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi.

Al-Sisi said there would be a code of ethics for the media that would “establish values and ethics for the media to follow.” He also stated that there would be a committee for reconciliation from leaders who are credible. The armed forces, he said, call on the great Egyptian people with its various groups to continue to have peaceful protests and end the crisis. He also said that the military warned it would take action against anyone moving beyond peaceful protest.

“May Allah preserve Egypt and its people,” al-Sisi concluded.

UPDATES: A Morsi aide has said that Morsi has been removed to an undisclosed location.

Good for them! Maybe we can learn something from this.

Hope so Julie....

What a great idea" Removed to and undisclosed location" seems Obama but his backing on the wrong horse this time. Hopefully the idea of a government for the people will catch on!

Without the Muslim Brotherhood in control Egypt has a chance.

Wonder what happens to all the aircraft and tanks Obama sent.

Yes agree with you Andy.

Why we are not doing the same thing here in America i have not figured out yet. They are two to our zero on removing evil from our government. All it would take is for We The People to get out of our comfort zones and do what our children deserve for their future.

When will our military act?

Their military acted when the people acted. If We The People marched on D.C. we would have 10 times or more the people they did. Im ready, someone come pick me up, i don't think my truck would make it,lol.

??????????????

HURRAH !!!!!!!

EXCELLENT ! NOW THE DOMINO EFFECT BEGINS AND TYRANTS AROUND THE WORLD NEED TO START QUAKING IN THEIR BOOTS. THEY ARE NEXT .

Joe Biden On Violence Against Women:   We Have To Keep ‘Punching At It, And Punching At It, And Punching At It’

The audience laughed as he said this.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said that America needs to be “punching” back to combat violence against women during Wednesday’s Democratic debate.

Biden was asked if he would tackle specific issues regarding the #MeToo movement at the beginning of his presidency, if he were to be elected. The former vice president previously sponsored the 1994 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which aimed to protect victims of domestic violence.

The presidential candidate responded to the question about assaulting women by using the phrase “punching” repeatedly, apparently not thinking about the implications of using such a word.

“No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman in anger other than in self-defense, and that rarely ever occurs,” Biden said. “So we have to just change the culture, period, and keep punching at it and punching at it and punching at it. No, I really mean it.”

A few people laughed in the audience as he said this.

Biden added that it is important to pass the Violence Against Women Act, which has passed in the House and held up in the Senate. The former Vice President also suggested that America has to “fundamentally change the culture” of how women are treated, noting that it is “everyone’s responsibility.”

“It’s a gigantic issue, and we have to make it clear from the top, from the president on down that we will not tolerate it,” Biden said. “We will not tolerate this culture.”
