The long-simmering feud between Sens. John McCain and Ted Cruz boiled over this week.

McCain mocked Cruz after the Texas senator claimed he had lobbied McCain to let U.S. troops carry their personal firearms around military installations.

McCain, the Arizona Republican who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he had never heard from the 2016 presidential hopeful or his staff about the controversial topic.

“You know, I was fascinated to hear that because I haven’t heard a thing about it from him. Nor has my staff heard from his staff,” a jovial McCain told reporters late Monday. “Where did that come from? I have not a clue.”

Cruz, a Tea Party favorite from Texas, on Tuesday morning confessed he had misspoken and later formally sent a letter to McCain asking the chairman to look into the topic.

He brushed off any suggestion of animosity — but then offered a back-handed compliment to McCain, who is well-known for talking to the media.

“Oh, I like John McCain,” Cruz said. “He can always be counted on for a good quote.”

The back and forth highlights the role that McCain, the presidential nominee for the GOP in 2008, might have in an election year in which three senators already joined the party’s presidential primary.

A fourth, Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), is expected to join them. A close friend of McCain’s, he shares the same outlook on national security and foreign policy.

McCain and Cruz have battled before, and the Arizona senator also has a testy relationship with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), another presidential contender. The third GOP senator already in the race, Florida’s Marco Rubio, worked with McCain and Graham on a controversial immigration bill in 2013.

Shame on you printing this BOB SIP trash!!!!!!!!!

Get lost!!!

McCain does his Party no good, fighting with the other Members.     Hey, Dummy, we're trying to defeat the Democrats, not each other.      "When you can't say something nice, Shut-Up"!!!

As a 20 year veteran I have a great deal of respect for Sen McCain but I'm sorry to say in the last few years I've heard a lot of words but little to no action.  IE; we now have a panel considering eliminating and reducing active duty & retired benefits but have heard nothing from him.  There is also a proposal to close 15 military instillations and he has been silent.  What we veterans need is action not words.

Wyman, thank you for your service!  What the VA is doing to the vets is outrageous, and now I understand that vets will only get medical care for 5 years after they leave the military.  That is just not right, and not the way it was set up by Dr.Michael DeBakey.  It was intended that vets get life-time care for the injuries they received or illnesses they developed due to exposure to Agent Orange.  And, it's a battle to get care at a near-by clinic, which was named after, of all people, Charlie Wilson!  It's because of him getting involved in the Russian-Afghan war that led to the development of the Mujahaded, which Osama ben Lauden joined.  Remember the movie, Charlie's War?  It's about him and his involvement in that war.  Now look where we are in Afghanistan.  If the Russians couldn't beat them, then we sure as heck aren't going to be able to.  As for McCain, he needs to retire.  And, I'll also support a candidate who'll be running against him in 2016.  However, I don t know if there is any TEA party group active in Arizona.  I checked 2 and the last post on one was in 2012!  Looks like the TEA Party needs to really get fired up again!

"Old Timer's Disease" McCain. Go out to pasture, John, we do not need the likes of you.

Maybe Mccaine should have contacted Cruz before embarrassing him in public. Idiot Republicans just can't stick together. We'll never win another Presidential election. Not only is the media after them but the public seems to Attack them and threaten them. On top of all of that they have some Idiot Old Man Mccaine trying to save face as if he's so righteous. It's sad but we have no chance of winning the presidency ever again. The numbers aren't there. To manny dumb young people have been encouraged to vote and the stupid Old out of touch kiss ass white Liberals are to dumb to figure out what's going on. Republicans will not win the presidency in 2016 or ever again.

Is this not the same McCain that lied through his teeth to his constituents about closing the borders to get reelected? Then of course he reverted back to his old crummy self. Arizona needs to stop falling for the bullsh** and vote right.

The media love McCain and Graham because those two lovebirds enjoy mocking true conservatives. They're pathetic and should just jump ship and join the Demon party.

It is unto the people in Az to get rid of this idiot once and for all!wake the hell up Az he is a liberal rino and does not deserve to be in the United States Senate! He deserves to be in the BIG HOUSE FOR TREASON!

VOTE THIS LOOSER OUT NOW!

A GOOD RULE OF THUMB........THE MORE THE ESTABLISHMENT RINOS HATE SOMEONE....TE MORE WE SHOULD SUPPORT THEM....I LOVE TED CRUZ......HES A TRUTH TELLER AND A VERY GOOD MAN...LIKE HIS FATHER....REMEMBER THIS FOLKS......ITS A GOOD COMMON SINCE APPROACH.......

ALERT ALERT

Joe Biden Vows: Give Taxpayer-Funded Obamacare To All Illegal Aliens In U.S.

Former Vice President and 2020 Democrat presidential primary candidate Joe Biden is vowing to give Obamacare, funded by American taxpayers, to all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States.

During an interview with Telemundo’s Jose Diaz-Balart, Biden forgot that Obamacare technically bans illegal aliens from enrolling in healthcare plans — although illegal aliens are still able to obtain subsidized and free healthcare at Americans’ expense — and promised that under his plan, all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens would be able to get Obamacare.

The exchange went as follows:

DIAZ-BALART: When I … NBC moderated that first debate with you, I didn’t … I don’t recall a clear answer, under your plan should … would the 11, 12 million undocumented immigrants that live in the United States, that have been here many for generations, would they have access …

BIDEN: Yes.

DIAZ-BALART: — to health insurance.

BIDEN: Yes, they … if they can buy into the system like everybody else.

DIAZ-BALART: Because you know, in [Obamacare] they can’t.

BIDEN: Yeah. Yeah, I know. Well they can, that’s my point. They continue to be able to do that.

DIAN-BALART: They cannot under the ObamaCare.

BIDEN: Well and that’s my point, they will though. They will be able to buy into … [illegal aliens] would be able to buy in, just like anyone else could.

Biden joins Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg — among other 2020 Democrats — in committing to forcing American taxpayers to pay for healthcare for illegal aliens who arrive in the U.S.

Already, due to loopholes, American taxpayers are spending nearly $20 billion every year to provide illegal aliens with subsidized healthcare, emergency room visits, and other health services.

Under the 2020 Democrats’ plan to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to all illegal aliens living in the U.S., Americans would be billed potentially $660 billion every decade just to cover the costs. Other research has found that the plan would cost Americans at least $23 billion every year.

As Breitbart News has reported, experts have said that giving taxpayer-funded healthcare to effectively all foreign nationals who can make it to America’s borders would drive “strong incentives for people with serious health problems to enter the country or remain longer than their visas allow in order to get government-funded care.”

Despite 2020 Democrats’ continued push for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens, American voters are overwhelmingly opposed to the plan. The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey revealed that the healthcare-for-illegal-aliens plan is the least popular policy position, with opposition from 62 percent of U.S. voters.

Similarly, a CNN poll from July discovered that 63 percent of likely swing voters oppose providing healthcare to illegal aliens, along with nearly 6-in-10 of all likely U.S. voters and 61 percent of moderates. A Rasmussen Reports survey also found that likely voters, by a majority of 55 percent, oppose giving healthcare to even the most low-income illegal aliens.
