Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu , burdened by ties to an unpopular president, lost her bid for a fourth term on Saturday to Republican Bill Cassidy.

With less than 1% of precincts reporting, the Associated Press projected that Mr. Cassidy, a physician and three-term House member, would win the state’s runoff election. Mr. Cassidy had 65% of the vote to 35% for Ms. Landrieu.

The outcome means that Republicans emerge from this year’s midterm elections with nine additional Senate seats and will hold a 54-46 majority when lawmakers are sworn in next year. Among its victories, the GOP swept five Democratic senators from office.

God is good!

Yeah,  one less Communist in office ! She is Obama's clone as she said herself, she will back Obama 100% of the time. She loves fellow Communist Obama.

Glad to see the marriage was broken up!

I so hope the "new" Congress follows the lead from Cruz and Paul and Gowdy, Ellison and Sessions (Jeff) and King (Iowa) and financially (Ryan), Bachmann and the other forward thinking/not "old boy" followers kind of Republicans - some too not in office but very important to the movement... Col. West, S. Palin, Dr Carson,  - I've missed many - many governors too - with the above - far ahead of the pack and who the people are listening to and hold hope in.

Most of the established "leaders" in our current government have become too complacent to deals that are good for only themselves and they few they wish to represent; and they have left themselves vulnerable because of their own crimes/ways they've uses their position for their own benefits are unethical and illegal - that's why our government is so insane right now - the "establishment" has to go along with - the technology and the man in charge (Obama) has made all of them a potential target to be taken to the wood shack publicly and ruined.  It's sad for us - anyway:

we have some extremely dedicated republicans - they need to group together and be the wall to stop the Feinsteins and the McConnells and McCains and Pelosis and Guetirrez' - and Obama & Co.

Whether or not Boehner et al said what they said only to get elected - the country meant for them to follow through with their pledges:  illegal immigrants, jobs for Americans, nix Obamacare, and get rid of the corruption however that needs to be done.

There is no choice other than to save the country.  The honest/independent/mavericks - above and many more and lots who will be Freshmen this January can do it.

The 2016 Prez Election depends on these same leaders - how they stay strong or if they cave (become one of the corrupt) - I know the whole country is watching...  if it had to be a third part - that would win this time - as long as all of you who aren't corrupt don't give in to their corruption/weakness - we get a great government again - and as we go into a world market (which is coming) we will be the leader of, not the third world tag along (heard CA now has the most people on welfare than any other state).  It was once the wealthiest.   The Gov did so on purpose - made lots of money for some breaking the state's economy.  That is the plan for the rest of the country under the criminal we now have (and Hillary) -  I don't know that much about Cassidy, but I hope he is on the side of the majority of the population and will be a good addition to our Senate's majority.

Yesiree  now get mcconnell out of there

Them Louisiana's finally came to life !

It's amazing how Demonic Rats lose when people are watching the voting to prevent fraud!

Do us justice Senator Cassidy!

Nothing new happens. The republicans chose Baynor and Macdonnelll and they still have their knees on the floor and their heads up Osama's arse. The major question is why did the new politicians decide to abandon the voters before they even took office. Every news cast I saw had the reporters interviewing voters who were constantly saying they were anti-Osama & anti-his failed policies. They are now in Washington on their knees with their heads up Baynor & macdonnellls arses. Nothing changed - we are still screwed.

So will the Republican Senate be able to use the Nuclear option the way Reed did?  I hope so, perhaps some good things will finally get accomplished.

That bitch needed to go.  Its about Obama and his failed policies, his dictator style of not leadership, but Chicago gangster politics. Now we stop his pen, no one will answer his phone calls.  This is what we needed.

We showed them the people is tired of obama, holder, Jarrett, rev al sharpton. The great divider.

AMEN

TRUMP:  Trump To Give ‘Start Your Engines’ Command At Dayton

President Donald Trump will give the command for drivers to start their engines before the Daytona 500.

Daytona International Speedway officials named Trump the grand marshal for NASCAR’s season opener, meaning he will deliver the most famous four words in auto racing. “Gentleman, start your engines,” has been a staple of races around the country and world for decades.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said Thursday the president plans to attend the race. Track president Chip Wile confirmed the news in a release.

“Daytona International Speedway has been privileged to have hosted several sitting presidents of the United States over our history,” Wile said. “We’re honored that the president of the United States has chosen to experience the pageantry and excitement of ‘The Great American Race.’”

Trump is the third sitting president to attend a race at Daytona, but only the second to attend the Daytona 500. George W. Bush attended in 2004. Trump is the first to be given an honorary role in pre-race ceremonies.

Trump is scheduled to spend part of the Presidents Day weekend at his private club in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a flight restriction for Sunday and the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for presidential security, also tweeted to fans that drones are prohibited within 30 miles of the race in Daytona Beach — a restriction put in place for presidential visits.

Trump has hosted previous NASCAR champions at the White House and last October awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to motorsports titan Roger Penske. Last year, Trump also praised retired driver Mario Andretti, the Daytona 500 winner in 1967, reminiscing about a ride Andretti gave him in a race car for his reality show “The Apprentice.”

“I said, ‘Mario, get me out of here. I want to get out of this car,’” Trump recalled. “We went so fast. We literally — we covered four blocks in like a second.”
