Kellyanne Conway Tweets She Is "Receiving Deluge Of Warnings Against Romney As Sec Of State"

In a peculiar update on Thursday morning, just around 9am Eastern, Trump's former campaign manager and current transition aide, Kellyanne Conway, tweeted that she is "Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney Some Trump loyalists warn against Romney as sec of state."

Some Trump loyalists warn against Romney as secretary of state

'I’m still very unhappy that Mitt did everything he could to derail Donald Trump,' Huckabee said.

She linked to a recent Politico article according to which "some of Donald Trump’s allies are steering him away from tapping one of his fiercest critics to lead his State Department. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Wednesday morning both cast 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney as a detractor who's unlikely to be loyal to Trump."

Huckabee warned that appointments of disloyal Republicans could prove to be a distraction in a president’s administration, arguing that such a person could be a problem because he or she doesn’t have a sense of commitment to or compatibility with the president-elect.“It’s not about that I don’t care for Mitt personally, but I’m still very unhappy that Mitt did everything he could to derail Donald Trump,”

Huckabee told Fox News. “He didn’t just go after him from a standpoint of saying I disagree with his policy on immigration or I disagree with his policy on taxes. He attacked him on a personal level about his character, integrity, his honor.”

As a reminder, earlier this week, the WSJ reported that Trump is "inclined to select Romney" as Secretary of State. This, despite a long history of animosity between the "establishment republican" and the New York billionaire: "Romney delivered a blistering speech in March in Salt Lake City in which he called Trump a “phony” and a “fraud.” He also tried to pick a convention floor fight, boldly calling on voters to cast their primary ballot for whichever Republican had a chance to beat Trump in their state."

Romney could have stayed silent, or just supported someone else. But NOOooooooo. He was adamantly against Trump! Actually, this might be Trump's way of keeping his friends close, but his enemies closer.

You might be right.

You don't put your enemies in the most powerful cabinet position... the 4th man in succession to the Presidency.. maybe Secretary of Energy or Transportation but not Secretary of State.

Not just NO but Hell No this  mitt is one of the good old boys and a two faced lying Rat Ba****ed !!

Newt Gingerich would be the best Secretary of State and Romney the worst.

I have spent many years of my life (and that is a VAST amount of time) in the Military and in the Political Arenas (which have all been directed against corruption and waste).

The issue about "Romney" should be clear and clean-cut. His past remarks about "TRUMP" should be the deciding factor in the choice of him to hold "ANY OFFICE IN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION" !!!! NONE should be the answer and I couldn't be more emphatic !!!!

I understand that "Trump" wants to mend fences or  "keep his enemies closer", but Donald will be only inviting a sure "Agent Provocateur" into his midst, which he surely does not need. There will be enough dissenters for him to handle with the Democrats, Media, Soros', and every other Anarchist, Leftist and Communist supported group at his throat, he doesn't need any additional misery, especially one who has so publicly and viciously attacked him.

There comes a time when "WORDS" uttered, must  be considered in deciding a person's integrity. and truthfulness, especially in selecting someone to hold Office in the Government of the most powerful Nation in the world. Obama's government should be held as an example of "What NOT" to be. The AMERICAN PEOPLE have spoken in that regard, on November 8th. I think we should again, listen to their council. OMIT ROMNEY FROM ANY APPOINTMENT, and that goes for any of the Bush family  and John Kasich as well.

Put me with all the no-Romney surge. It's puzzling that Trump would even consider the back stabbing wonder boy. Same-Ole won't bring about any changes.

DONALD J. TRUMP is a SHREWD SUCKA..............

TRUMP doesn't have to say anything..................

rommy brought this all on himself..........

DID EVERYONE NOTICE THE 'CROW-SHIT' EATING look on ROMMY'S FACE AS HE LEFT TRUMP'S office.................................

GO MR. TRUMP..........................

VENGENCE IS YOUR'S................................

Absolutely... Trump has a way of shinning the light on the darkness of our government.  Like with Ryan, McConnell, McCain, Romney, and all the Stop Trump pro-establishment suckers, he is letting the American people shine the credibility light on their political gaming BS.

People, people...

Although Trump will make the final decision.  I simply do not trust anything about Romney.  I never have, and never will ... he is not only establishment's runner-up poster boy (McCain beat him out), but he is a globalist, progressive, who will say anything to feed his narcissistic appetite.  I don't pretend to know or understand President Trump's motivation, thus far, (and from the get-go), he has showed his absolute opposite motivation as opposite of politics as usual, he is not letting anyone know ... when-where-what-or who, ... just a great strategy for what he wants, (and has promised to accomplish)  it is a strategy that wins, the best team players, and a great game plan.  None-the-less, Romney would be a detriment to the Trump Team, and could actually cause a failure in a critical cabinet level position, which could effect the work of the rest of the team and advisors.  Romney would make a great Secretary of State for a liberal administration, he has a track record of making deals with foreign regimes and foreign markets.  But that experience is not for a Trump administration.

The Establishment must end. Constitutional republic only.

Gohmert: Dems Will Drag Out Impeachment — Try To Get ‘Best Socialist’ Nominated For President

During an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN on Thursday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) offered his best assessment of what House Democrats were trying to accomplish with their impeachment efforts.

Gohmert told WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show” impeachment could tie up the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign efforts but predicted Democrats would use the occasion to nominate “the best socialist” they can.

“They would lose in the Senate,” Gohmert said on impeachment. “And besides that, the entire time it was on trial in the Senate, the Democrats who are running for president wouldn’t be allowed to campaign. That’s in the Constitution. They wouldn’t be able to campaign. I just can’t imagine them wanting to do that because if they send it to the Senate, they have now perfectly set up the scenario of 1996, where they will reassure Donald Trump is reelected as president. They don’t want to do that. They’re probably going to drag this thing out as long as they possibly can … through Iowa, through primaries — try to get the best socialist they can to be nominated.”

“Then just end up and say, ‘Now we’re close enough to the general election. We’ve thrown mud at the president through the House,’” he continued. “What they’re really doing — they’re using taxpayer funds to campaign against Trump. That’s all this is — a campaign fund that taxpayers are paying for in order to try to throw mud at the president. I’ll be surprised if they have that vote, but I can’t imagine they want to set up this president for reelection by having a trial in the Senate where they lose.”
