John Conyers to push again for reparations legislation for African Americans

U.S. Rep. John Conyers Jr. said he will re-introduce in the 113th Congress legislation that calls for a seven-member commission to study reparations for African-Americans.

“It is the most important piece of legislation I have ever introduced, and I will re-introduce HR40 in the 113th Congress,” Conyers (D., Mich.) told the 400 attendees at the “Revitalizing The Reparations Movement” conference last week at Chicago State University. The 113th Congress first met Jan. 3, 2013.

He made his comments in the wake of 14 Caribbean nations demanding reparations and apology from Britain and other European countries for the trans-Atlantic slave trade. If the countries fail to negotiate with the Caribbean nations, they will sue them in the World Court, which is located in The Hague, The Netherlands. Thus far, Sweden is the only country that has indicated a willingness to negotiate reparations.

POLL: Do you think that the Democrats-Progressives have worn out the race card?

Introduced in 1989
Conyers said the actions by the Caribbean nations will revitalize the reparations movement in the United States. “I think it is going to be a springboard for reparations,” he said.

Conyers first introduced the legislation, titled “Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act,” in 1989 during the 101th Congress. The bill was referred to the House Judiciary Committee, where Conyers is the ranking member.

The eight-page piece of legislation, which was co-introduced by U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott (D., Va.), said the 4 million Africans and their descendants were enslaved in the United States and colonies that became the United States from 1619 to 1865.

Who wants to bet that if this reparation goes through there will be so many lawsuits against the United States government that we will probably go bankrupt, this whining has got to stop, quit playing the race card and grow up.

John Conyers will be 85 next week.  He is THE Representative of Detroit - from Grosse Point to the north to Wyandotte to the south ('downriver').  It is 33% white and 56% black.  That district voted 80% for Gore and Kerry, and 85% both times for Obama.  If you do the math, approximately 55% of the whites in that district voted Against Obama.  John Conyers was Mayor Coleman Young's 'man' in Washington.  They Destroyed Detroit TOGETHER.

Mrs. Monica Conyers is 50. She was on the Detroit City Council and was once President Pro Tem. She was sentenced to 37 months in prison for bribery and conspiracy and is Still under investigation by the F.B.I.  She was scheduled to get out of prison last month.

Kwame Kilpatrick was mayor of Detroit.  In October 2013 he was sentenced to 28 years in prison for Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, and Racketeering.

My family were Yankees, where is my check?

Seriously, the "minorities" are being favored more than ever. oblamea has his following of sheeples and minions, the useful idiots that voted him in twice.  Even without them he would of won, the elections were rigged, by the sorros/progressive commie regime, aka dumbocrats. Funny though, no one ever talks about oblamea's mother, (white), hmm, what about that?

I would vote for it, only if we would also include every other race that was put into slavery here in the United States.  Also, I would require that every African Nation who help support the Slave Trade to be accounted for and the families of the various Black Captains who gathered up, transported and received payment to deliver slaves [people of other tribes than their own] to have to help with the reparation.  It is a known fact, even though, some Black leaders and Congressmen will not recognize, that various African tribes who went to war and captured people sold those captives to the White and Black Slave traders.

So, I would like to see Rep. Conyers to include them.  And, while we are talking about slavery that every country though out the world would have to pay up as well.  Let us go back to the various slaves trades prior to the Egyptian Empire.  Now, this will really hurt, we would have to demand that the Muslim World would have to pay up for all of their slaves.

I do not believe that one race and one race only should have any reparations without having all races be paid.  That includes the number of White Slaves in the early history of this country and I am not talking about the indentured slaves.

Mr. Williams do you think Rep. Conyers will listen to common sense?

Yes, one of the first and before Africans were kidnapped by their own people for payoffs were the Germans! Should we pay them too? This guy is a racist because he refuses to support forgiveness for things that happened so long ago! He wants the black vote!

We note that a nation's healing comes from forgiveness. Many of us have forgiven the German people, headed by an insane dictator! He took the media over and we see that here in our own Country of Marxist supporting fools. We have loved our Japanese Citizens who also served along side other Americans! They proved themselves to be honorable! History tells us that American Japanese were sent first into Italy and did our Country proud! We need to face it; when people are not brainwashed they can do wonders for supporting what is real and not against us all! We see this man should of never been elected as he does not support America!

reparations : money that a country or group that loses a war pays because of the damage, injury, deaths, etc., it has caused

Yep sounds like a good use of Tax-Payers Money to me - - - -  re-introduce in the 113th Congress legislation that calls for a seven-member commission to study reparations for African-Americans. [See above]

Also sounds good IF One is Looking to Get Re-Elected - - -  By the 14 Caribbean Nations - - -  Conyers (D., Mich.) told the 400 attendees at the “Revitalizing The Reparations Movement” conference last week at Chicago State University ...  in the wake of 14 Caribbean nations demanding reparations and apology from Britain and other European countries for the trans-Atlantic slave trade

I wonder if they are going to sue the Chiefs that sold em?

Then we  "whites" want reparations for all who fought and died against slavery and fought wars around the world to free people.

this is a very good point but the civil war wasn't about slavery, which happened to evolve from it.  it was about the south wanting to be a nation of its own, wanted to part from the rest of the colonies.... read about it in your history books....

It had to do with slavery.  That is why the south wanted to form their own nation so they could continue with slavery.

YIKES!!! Chelsea Clinton Emphatically States A Person With A Beard And A Penis Can ‘Absolutely’ Identify As A Woman

  • The one issue Hillary and Chelsea don’t appear to agree on entirely is transgender self-identification
  • In an interview with The Sunday Times, journalist Decca Aitkenhead asked the Clintons about transgender self-identification
  • Chelsea Clinton replied ‘yes’ emphatically when asked if someone with a beard and penis can ever be a woman
  • ‘It’s going to take a lot more time and effort to understand what it means to be defining yourself differently,’ Hillary said
  • Aitkenhead said Hillary became ‘uneasy’ when the question was asked while Chelsea shot a ‘furious stare’ at the journalist as her mother answered
  • Hillary added: ‘It’s a very big generational discussion, because this is not something I grew up with or ever saw’

(Daily Mail) – It may appear Hillary and Chelsea Clinton always see eye-to-eye, but in a recent interview one topic cracked the facade of the like-minded mother-daughter power duo.

The one issue Hillary and Chelsea don’t appear to agree on entirely is transgender self-identification.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, journalist Decca Aitkenhead asked the Clintons if someone with a beard and a penis can ever be a woman, to which Chelsea replied emphatically, ‘Yes.’

However, as Aitkenhead describes it, Hillary looked ‘uneasy’, and blamed generational gaps for being less accepting.

‘Errr. I’m just learning about this,’ Hillary responded. ‘It’s a very big generational discussion, because this is not something I grew up with or ever saw. It’s going to take a lot more time and effort to understand what it means to be defining yourself differently.’

The Clintons sat sown with Aitkenhead to promote the book they co-authored, The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience.

The book features Danica Roem, the first trans woman elected to a U.S. state legislature.

According Aitkenhead’s account, she tells Hillary during the interview that many British feminists of Hillary’s generation have a problem with the idea that a ‘lesbian who doesn’t want to sleep with someone who has a penis is transphobic.’

Hillary nods in agreement, while Chelsea ‘stiffens and stares at me’, according to Aitkenhead.

The journalist then adds that many women of Hillary’s generation are uncomfortable with biological males sharing women’s bathrooms.

‘I would say that, absolutely,’ Hillary nods firmly. ‘Absolutely. Yes.’

That’s when Chelsea begins shooting a ‘furious stare’ at Aitkenhead, who points it out to her.

‘I’m a terrible actor’, Chelsea laughs.

Chelsea then says she is thrilled with the National Health Service’s decision to assign patients to single-sex wards according to the gender they identify as, instead of their biological make up.

‘How can you treat someone if you don’t recognize who they feel and know in their core they are?’ Chelsea says.

‘And I strongly support children being able to play on the sports teams that match their own gender identity,’ she adds. ‘I think we need to be doing everything we can to support kids in being whoever they know themselves to be and discovering who they are.’

At this point Hillary looks conflicted.

‘I think you’ve got to be sensitive to how difficult this is,’ Hillary says. ‘There are women who’d say [to a trans woman], ”You know what, you’ve never had the kind of life experiences that I’ve had. So I respect who you are, but don’t tell me you’re the same as me.” I hear that conversation all the time.’

Despite the clear tension in the room, the pair say they don’t argue about this topic.

But according to Aitkenhead, ‘I get the impression they don’t like to present anything less than a united front to the world.’
