Less than two weeks after one of the nation's deadliest school shootings, the No.2 Democrat in the U.S. House, Steny Hoyer, compared Republican tactics for dealing with the nation's debt limit to someone threatening to shoot a child hostage.

"It's somewhat like taking your child hostage and saying to somebody else, 'I'm going to shoot my child if you don't do what I want done.' You don't want to shoot your child. There's no Republican leader that wants to default on our debt, that I've talked to," Hoyer said at a Capitol Hill press conference.

Hoyer's comments came in response to a question about the Treasury Department's notice that the nation was approaching its debt limit. He criticized Republicans for previous resistance to raising the debt ceiling and used the gun analogy to argue that the issue should not be part of the negotiations involving the fiscal cliff.

Darn tablet ! Ha, ha,... It is acting up today... Can't someone with a great pair of stelleto heels just kick him in the , NADS ??

Ms. Freedom Butterfly, I do think Steel Toed boots would be more fitting for the job........

Gene...... I wear both. My Harley boots would also work! Lol...:))

Democrats are so stupid. They should change their name to commucrats or demonists or something that is more fitting to their agenda.

All our mocking the ignorant will not help the cause.

We need to think above them.

We know they speak their stupidity over and ... like a mantra.

Now we must find ways to show them how wrong they are; without being ...obtuse ourselves.

They mostly post on liberal sites. Try communicating with them; was it Stossel or the comedeian who was  blindsided in Wisconsin?  He spoke on the streets with people asking the questions about what they were trying to think... then they started realizing what they were listening to was the talking points of MISTER Obama.

The Democrats are seeming started to making it a habit of using our children as hostages for getting what they want a way of life. Gov. Brown did it with prop. 30s tax raise in the last election for the state of California, by stating that he was going to cut education funding if it did not pass. Not once did I hear about cutting the funding to illegal aliens or for anything else for that matter.

What is even sadder was that the teacher unions as well as the union csea (california school emplyees association) I was forced to belong to went right along with it.

what a dick's not be too honest about a guy like him.

Hoyer and O'Malley, Maryland, both need to go hand and hand to another country.  They don't help our state and think only of casinos so the poor people can get false hope up and play away their meager incomes; mostly gov't checks.

Why even carry a story such as this? We all know that there is no one in congress who is in possession of their right mind (no pun intended), and they will say the dumbest shit imaginable. They're all fruit balls without balls, so please allow some respit from the daily bullcrap that pours forth from their pie holes. Damn, I am so sick and tired of the constant whinnying about what they thing and /or do. NO ONE IN CONGRESS GIVES A SHIT ABOUT ANY OF US!!! And that includes the tea party supported ass holes.

Semper Fidelis!

Ed Allen you may be fed up but you go to far when you say the "TP supported assholes" don't care. The Tea Party is us!! We just got started three years ago with no expertise and all citizen generated efforts. Now we have many types of groups some more effective then others, but the difference is the motivation and the abilities of the people involved. As I said if you don't like the way your group operates get in there and work harder. The people who identify themselves as TP legislators suffer from all fronts and should be backed by us in their efforts.Concentrate your anger in a positive direction,we can not lose this fight .Your slashing out in all directions is like monkeys flinging poop at each other, lots of noise and activity but little accomplished.Be angry as the rest of us are but focus your energy into help that the rest of us can use to save our families and our country.Be a Patriot or be quiet. We are the only ones fighting back, you are a Marine so step up and help we need everyone pushing in the same direction. Thank you for your service ,now be a leader like you were taught.

The debt is the problem too much spending. What has Hoyer done to cut spending. He brings  up child, well he acts like one. Those Republicans won't let us keep spending so It's their fault. We wouldn't have a fiscal cliff if they would cut spending. Keep raising the debt limit every year and never quit spending. It's so ridiculous that they actually think It's a spending cut to not increase spending as much as they had planned. How long can we spend more than we take in by 1.5 TRILLION dollars every year?  Even politicians can't be that stupid can they?

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
