Homeowners Association: Veteran Can’t Build Furniture For Military Families In Need

NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) — A war veteran who builds furniture in his garage and gives it to military families in need could be forced to shut down the saws.

A homeowners association is telling Dennis Kocher he needs to close up shop after years of doing business, or he could be fined between $100 and $1,000.

“I may not paint, sand, cut wood or screw on the property at anytime,” he said.

The new mandate cuts deep, as he’s been building cabinets and dressers for a decade, donating most to military families.

POLL: Do you believe the United States government is beginning to resemble a totalitarian regime?

“Everyone who received my furniture or responsible for dispersing it gave me this gift and it’s something I’ll treasure forever,” he said holding a photo.

He builds to help make a better life for families who have very little.

“I don’t make a profit. The money I spend is my own money, my own time and talents and I build it to give to the Beale [Air Force Base],” he said.

While I applaud Mr. Kocher's activities, he should have realized that in buying into a community with a "homeowners' association" he was giving up his freedom to do with his property as he wished.  I have never lived in a "homeowners' association" community myself - and would never do so - but friends and acquaintances have.  And it seems that in most - if not all - cases, the "associations" are invariably controlled by the most petty, dictatorial, power-mongering individuals in the community.  But!  When you buy in, you accept this. And this in addition to the normal constraints placed by the city/county.   Time to move?

OR gather your neighbors and dissolve the HOA!

Just like the business' should "dissolve" the labor unions!!!

this is the new America, freedom lost many years ago,,,

this is why I do not live in a property with a association,

city restrictions are bad enough .

time to restore property ownership and freedoms to America . for a start.

After listening to my parents recount nightmares with their home owners association, I bought a house last summer with that being my #1 proviso, no homeowners association. I think they're on their way out...Semper Fi Nam 66-67

Those of us that follow the actions of our leaders knew in 08 what was about to happen to this country.  The liberal socialist democrats have taken over. Remember Joe McCarthy was going after the communist in this country and was stopped by ignorance of the people. Top leaders from both parties are to blame along with many ill informed voters. This man probably pissed off  one of his anti-American neighbors so they went after his kindness to military. Lets get behind this gentleman and bury this association for good.

Where's MY America? Please, someone, give me another cup of TEA!

HOAs
for the most are run by persons that feel they have a right to rule their small
community. They also have family members working directly or contracting for
the HOA. They make rules and change existing rules to fit their whims. This is
a rare occasion where I believe the State government should rain in the HOAs
with laws that limit their power and should also give the home owners recourse
when they feel the HOA has gone to far in their power. Contact your state
officials and press then to act.

Time to take the home owners association down piece by piece starting with a huge law suit.

I  for one would never live where their is a homeowners Assoc. and i will fight like hell to keep them out, Their bad news they clame it benifets every one, but the truth is they  only benifet a few. And they make your life a liveing hell. They regulate ,and limit every faset of your life. They are No better than Big goverment with over reaching power . why would freemen and woman do this to themselves . It makes no sence at least not to me .I love Freedom to much. and this is  a shame.

HOA's in housing are the same as unions in business; good for the progressives in charge and the demoncrap party, but very bad for patriots and other ordinary citizens!!!

Amen to that Robert

of another young black gay escort was found at the West Hollywood home of Ed Buck, a top Democrat donor and political activist.

As previously reported, a black gay escort named Gemmel Moore died of a meth overdose at Ed Buck’s West Hollywood home in July of 2017.

The LA County District Attorney’s Office previously declined to prosecute Ed Buck saying the evidence was “insufficient to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that (Buck) is responsible for the death of Gemmel Moore,” which sparked an outrage from family members and others in the community.

Jasmyne Cannick told FOX and Friends nearly a dozen black men have come forward to speak on their experiences with “serial predator” Ed Buck.
Cannick also went off on the Democrat Party: “Over 77% of black people in California vote Democratic. We vote for Democrats.

It is a shame that when something like this happens, when you have the chair of your state party when at the time of this , Eric Bauman, who was willing to turn a blind eye as well as instruct others not to speak on it. As a black woman, as a black Democrat, I expect more from my party.

Last week, a black male was seen entering Ed Buck’s seedy LA apartment.
