Homeowners Association: Veteran Can’t Build Furniture For Military Families In Need

NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) — A war veteran who builds furniture in his garage and gives it to military families in need could be forced to shut down the saws.

A homeowners association is telling Dennis Kocher he needs to close up shop after years of doing business, or he could be fined between $100 and $1,000.

“I may not paint, sand, cut wood or screw on the property at anytime,” he said.

The new mandate cuts deep, as he’s been building cabinets and dressers for a decade, donating most to military families.

POLL: Do you believe the United States government is beginning to resemble a totalitarian regime?

“Everyone who received my furniture or responsible for dispersing it gave me this gift and it’s something I’ll treasure forever,” he said holding a photo.

He builds to help make a better life for families who have very little.

“I don’t make a profit. The money I spend is my own money, my own time and talents and I build it to give to the Beale [Air Force Base],” he said.

sounds as if this Homeowner's Assoc. needs advice on civics and responsible decisions.  I wish this lovely man the best - and for others those too, who come forward in his defense.

Katherin , as a  retired military man and former owner of a wood working shop my only question who turned this man in to the association and for what,  someone must be upset because of the noise, if trere wasn't a complaint then they need to stay the hellll of his property

Judy, sadly you don't sound like a sane person to me. You're patently dishonest. Yet you believe in your hubris you're superior. I believe it's you who needs to seek the Lord.

Judy, what makes you think they are going to Heaven. My money is on them going the exact opposite direction.

I think you've misinterpreted Judy's view. She wants the people who reported the vet sent to Hell. That tells me she likely isn't a Christian. If she was she'd want them to repent.

Do you want them to repent?

Judy,

I think I read your words and your intent quite well. If "For the person(s) who reported this man for his goodness and kindness, I hope they are judged extremely by God. He will take care of them for their selfish, trouble-making way of life," isn't a call for God to send these people to Hell than I don't know what is.

Do you think God is going around condemning people or trying to save them? I believe it's the latter. That's not to say there aren't earthly consequences for going against His Word. I judged YOU not to condemn you but rather hoping you'd realize that how YOU judge others, which YOU most certainly did against whoever reported the vet, will be the way YOU will be judged so that you can avoid condemnation. I believe God is merciful to those who repent. Don't YOU?

By the way, isn't your comment, "Your attacks are typical coming from someone like you," quite judgmental? Is someone like me a Hispanic? Or is it because I spoke to your judgmental mind set?

Also aren't your comments,"most of those people were transplants from the Bay area mental hospitals. They love to make trouble for anyone and everyone. They have tiny little minds and too much time on their trouble making hands. Many of them are alcoholics and drive like NO ONE else should be on the road. The majority vote DEMONIC and really are mentally ill and morally bankrupt," in reference to HOA members you lived next to petty, mean spirited, slanderous, AND judgmental. Where do you get off judging others like that yet demand YOU NOT to be judged? That's what I call hubris. That's why I stated that I thought YOU were insane, dishonest, and not a Christian. I'd love to be proved wrong.

Again, my comments weren't meant to condemn you but to wake you up so that you might know God's greatness and mercy as I have. Believe me, God had to forgive a lot in me. For His mercy I'll be eternally grateful.

It was shown by a Christian brother who judged me with tough love; caring about my fate. He showed me through the Holy Spirit the God I know is the Father (Abba Yahweh), the Son (Yeshua ben Yosef or Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. How about you? I hope it's the same.

And hopefully I'm a brother in Christ.

Bob

Kathrine,

Most do.  None will listen.  The HOA's take on the mantle of  'Little Tin Gods', and make life misteable for anyone who doesn't 'toe the mark'.  Remember your Parents 'RULES', which if you didn't follow them you got a 'lickin''?  Well these people mainly don't have kids, but they love the POWER.  Unfortunately they have LAWYERS writing their 'covenents', and the courts go along with them.

Imagine, if you will, that his door is falling down, but!  He may NOT SCREW on the property AT ANY TIME.  All the door needs is a couple of screws tightened, but the HOA says he can't do it, and he can't afford to have someone come in to do it, and that person would violate the HOA rules anyhow.  The initial reason for them was fine, but they have gone too far.

Randal, isn't that what most dictators do, go too far?

Again....if you happen to live in or buy into a HOA..there are ways to make changes..just like I did...get elected to the board..you and one of your like minded friends..most boards are no more than 3 to 5 people.....there is a way to change the CC&Rs if they are too intrusive....just like in politics..it takes a little work..mostly leg work and canvasing of your neighbors to make a change but it can be done.....we got rid of all the nusiance garbage in our CC&Rs...most folks want to just be left alone to live their lives and not have any property values plummet...this man needs to be allowed to do what he does...he would be able to in our HOA. And know..do not assume that the board members are "retired"....I am retired Af but I work full time nights in a hospital...it can be done....

.

The progressives are trying to move into leadership positions in every field; education, government, business, bedrooms and now garages.  I suppose it's better than constantly residing in hell!!!

You forgot in front of your house too. I've seen where in certain cities they ticket for washing your car in front of your house.

of another young black gay escort was found at the West Hollywood home of Ed Buck, a top Democrat donor and political activist.

As previously reported, a black gay escort named Gemmel Moore died of a meth overdose at Ed Buck’s West Hollywood home in July of 2017.

The LA County District Attorney’s Office previously declined to prosecute Ed Buck saying the evidence was “insufficient to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that (Buck) is responsible for the death of Gemmel Moore,” which sparked an outrage from family members and others in the community.

Jasmyne Cannick told FOX and Friends nearly a dozen black men have come forward to speak on their experiences with “serial predator” Ed Buck.
Cannick also went off on the Democrat Party: “Over 77% of black people in California vote Democratic. We vote for Democrats.

It is a shame that when something like this happens, when you have the chair of your state party when at the time of this , Eric Bauman, who was willing to turn a blind eye as well as instruct others not to speak on it. As a black woman, as a black Democrat, I expect more from my party.

Last week, a black male was seen entering Ed Buck’s seedy LA apartment.
