The White House made the announcement right after the president indicated he would make a decision “very soon” about Price. “I think he’s a very fine person, I certainly don’t like the optics,” Trump said when asked by reporters about the investigation.

“I think he’s a very fine person, I certainly don’t like the optics,” Trump said. He added that Price was a “very good man” but that he was not pleased with the news.

The investigation spearheaded by Politico uncovered about $1 million in taxpayer-funded private, charter, and military planes during the eight months of his time in office.

“I’m not happy, I can tell you,” Trump said.

Price tried to apologize for the flights, vowing not to do it again and even offering to refund taxpayers for some of the cost, but it was apparently not enough for the White House.

Trump told reporters that the White House would be putting a stop to cabinet officials traveling on private flights.

“We put in an order … no more planes,” Trump said, pointing out that the Obama administration spent a lot of time and money on airplane flights.

He stated at the time that Price had not offered to resign, but said “we’ll see” about the future of his job as HHS Secretary.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the White House released its statement announcing Price’s resignation.

Replies to This Discussion what?  Is that it?  He stole one million dollars from the taxpayers and he won't be charged with any crime or have to pay it back?  And NOT just part of it-----ALL OF IT!

As of 2014, Price was estimated to have a net worth of $13.6 million.  So...he HAS the money to pay off the money he stole from US.   DAMN, he really managed to stash away a boat load of money as a doctor.

People such as Price, if they had any sense, would announce publicly that, " since my job as HHS Secretary requires that I personally attend, along with staff, these upcoming meetings, I am hereby letting the public know that I need to hitch a ride to get us there. If none is available, and I am expected to provide it myself, then I am calling on my boss, the President, to clearly say so and thus remove any doubt or confusion about travel expenses.

I bring this matter to the attention of the public in order to separate my conduct from that of the previous Obama administration, who, along with his Sec. of State and Attorney Generals,  would liberally lavish public funds upon themselves as if it grew from the ground like corn from Nebraska or wheat from Kansas,  and are even to this very day enjoying it without fear of accountability in the least.

I, on the other hand, am honest to the bone, and will do my job with honor an integrity as I have sworn to do upon my acceptance of it.

Thank you, very much."

I don't think you can write off your honeymoon as a legitimate business need.....

But the Leftists could, and it would not only be defended by the criminal media but also deemed to be an example of National caring and concern for the future and happiness of such a beloved public servant.

And that was my point. IF Price had any sense.....and he didn't.   People in Trump's administration must not only conduct themselves directly opposed to the previous thugs, but blast the difference in the ear of the media to show the difference pointedly to the public.

Price proved to be just another weasel in the hen house. Picks like this make Trump look like he chooses people without examination of character, and government is so damned big that it is impossible for him to properly vet people personally, the media knows it, and blames him anyway.

I don't have any confidence in the swamp draining anyway.  Even if you could drain it what would find at the bottom but more slime with stink to high heaven.

The best Trump can do is to have his administration act righteously, with honesty and honor for four, possibly eight, years and then it will be game on again in spite of the short respite.

Meanwhile, the world worsens daily under the influence of pure evil that only God can clean up.

The Good News is that He will do just that.

New York's Green Light Law - Allows Illegal Aliens To Get Driver’s Licenses

New York passed a law to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses earlier this year but it was held up by challenges.

Now it is set to take effect this week.

In typical leftist fashion, supporters claim this is going to somehow make New York’s roads safer for everyone.

Could it really be about voting?

FOX News reports:

Illegal immigrants to be able to get driver’s licenses in NY after legal challenge fails.

Illegal immigrants in New York will able to obtain driver’s licenses starting next week after a last-minute legal challenge was dismissed — making it the 13th state to allow the practice, but one that critics say is unconstitutional.

The Green Light Law, signed by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo earlier this year, allows anyone to apply for a driver’s license regardless of immigration status and does not require a Social Security number.

Illegal immigrants can use a combination of documents that include a valid passport from a foreign country and a valid foreign driver’s license, as long as it has been expired for less than two years.

“After waiting 18 years to have their right to drive restored, thanks to our legislature, New York can now officially join 12 other states in making driver’s licenses legally available to all residents,” New York Immigration Coalition Executive Director Steve Choi said in a statement this week, arguing that it will make roads safer and the economy stronger.

County clerks in New York have concerns and are sounding an alarm.

CBS News in Albany reports:

County clerks concerned by loopholes in Green Light law.

Undocumented immigrants now have the green light to get a driver’s license in New York…but several county clerks in the Capital Region are concerned.

Saratoga County Clerk Craig Hayner said, “We found that everything we were concerned about as far as fraud and all sorts of other things are in that bill, in that regulation and we’re very concerned.”

Hayner tells CBS6’s Lynsey Smith there are a few loopholes in the Green Light Law.

Loopholes, such as a person coming in to get their license and not having to provide their social security number.

“That could lead to criminals coming from other states, coming in and use that as a way to defraud by just simply saying they don’t have a social security number…and that’s a very dangerous loophole,” replied Hayner.

Does anyone believe this is going to make New York safer or that this is really about driving?
