GOP leaders: National security will end Carson and Trump campaigns

Donald Trump and Ben Carson have demonstrated more staying power than anyone predicted. But now, after the terrorist attacks on an American ally, Republican elders think their party’s flirtation with inexperience is nearing its end.

The reemergence of foreign policy atop the Republican agenda will force voters to reevaluate the outsider candidates, particularly as both Trump and Carson display a lack of knowledge about national security and the terrorist threat, party stalwarts said.

“The losers are going to be Donald Trump and Ben Carson on national security,” said Katon Dawson, the former chairman of the South Carolina GOP. “As the Republican base sobers up, they are the two, if this story lasts a long time, it's going to hurt."

Indeed, in interviews with current and former GOP chairs, veteran operatives, lobbyists and strategists, the long-held conviction that neither Trump nor Carson will win the Republican nomination has only strengthened since the attacks in Paris last week.

Fred Malek, who has advised multiple Republican presidents and is not affiliated with any contender this cycle, said the inexperience Trump and Carson reveal in their rhetoric will drive GOP primary voters toward another candidate.

Vote for a 3rd party candidate like the Constitution Party. That will send a far better message to the moribund GOP.

You are right about the "moribund GOP" but It would also elect a democrat for president.........President Hillary Clinton.  The Constitution Party has to get a lot stronger before it could challenge both traditional parties.

They sound just like the liberal loons.

Don't hold your breath.  The GOP fat cats can't control Trump and that is the ONLY reason they want to defeat him. Trump is the David of the party who will kill the fat cat Giant Lobbyists and crooked insiders.  He is the most popular figure since JFk and they hate that.  When Trump gets elected, and he will I hope he takes out some time to clean out The Karl Roves and Reince Priebis crowd.  First, he has to clean up the mess Obama left ,  This was not just Obama's doing.  Karl Rove and the GOP machine helped him because they too are globalists who want to see America destroyed so they can pull us down to the low level where they have the rest of the world.  They like to keep people poor, unarmed and uneducated so they are easier to control.  We are having such a major upheaval in the world today because America is not going down as easily as the Elite like G. Soros and the Bilderberg group want.

We must elect Trump because if both sides, who have been screwing America for 20+ years, hate him, he certainly is the only good man left in America.

The gop (GOP) will try anything to stop Cruz and or Trump! Moderates, years ago, might have been electable Today, they have proven, they cannot be trusted! After all, they gave and are still giving this POS in the rainbow house everything he's wants!!! I feel the majority of republicans are NOT conservative!! Perhaps scumbags!

Probably unfaithful to their wives, too.

So, why would they be faithful to America?

They GOP will try anything to get rid of the nominees the people want, so they can keep putting in their Rinos (Democrats in sheeps clothing).  The people will still prevail.  God Trump, to hell with the GOP!!!

There are a lot of very smart people in this Country! Some are to smart get involved with the idiots on the Hill. They couldn't tolerate them!

Since the established politicians have done such a remarkable job carrying out National Security they use this as a reason to say Trump and Carson are the losers.

Is it not the established politicians that have allowed for the threat to our national security by allowing the flood of illegal aliens, that accused Americans of being inhumane over the influx of "children" from Central America, that are allowing enemies not only to enter the country but to operate training camps, that have allowed agencies like CAIR and La Raza dictate policy?

The brain dead POS in the white house is more worthless than Trump OR Carson

"NO" It will not hurt them because they are the ones which is called common sense and the RINO's and the democrats don't seem to have any between their ears.

The GOP truly is the party of spineless idiots

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
