Five IMPORTANT Facts You Did Not Know About This Flag

The confusion caused by the similarity in the flags of the Union and the Confederacy was of great concern to Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard after the first Battle of Manassas. He suggested that the Confederate national flag be changed to something completely different, in order to avoid confusion in battles in the future. However, this idea was rejected by the Confederate government. Beauregard then suggested that there should be two flags. One, the National flag, and the second one being a battle flag, with the battle flag being completely different from the United States flag.

  1. This is not the National Flag of the Confederacy. It is a battle flag.  Three national flags were tried before the final design was settled on:

  • The first National flag design looked too much like the Union Flag and caused confusion in commanding armies in maneuvers.

  • The second one looked too much like a surrender flag when there was no breeze and it was hanging limply..

2nd flag

  • A vertical red bar was added to the third and final version of the Confederate national flag.

3rd flag

  1. The Confederate Battle Flag was never a National Flag of the Confederacy. It was carried into battle by several armies such as the Army Of Northern Virginia and the Army of Tennessee. It was also used as a Naval Jack by the Confederate Navy.

  1.  The Battle Flag was not called the Stars and Bars. It was called the Southern Cross.

  1.  The original Battle Flag design was a square flag and not a rectangle.

  1.  No Confederate flag was ever flown on a slave ship.  English, Dutch, Portuguese, and the New England States ships were used in the slave trade.

It is necessary to disclaim any connection of these flags to neo-nazis, red-necks, skin-heads and the like. These groups have usurped this flag and desecrated it by their acts. They have no moral right to use this flag – it is a flag of honor, designed by the confederacy to distinguish itself from the Union  .

In fact, under attack, it still flies over the South Carolina capitol building. The South denies any relation to these hate groups and denies them the right to use the flags of the confederacy for any purpose. The crimes committed by these groups under the stolen banner of the confederacy only exacerbate the lies which link the secession to slavery interests when, from a Southerner’s view, the cause was to distinguish itself from the Union.

This is just another cave by the Progressive Republicans. Maybe we should start applying the terminology 'Low Information Voter" to them, complete ignorance.

I did read this article yesterday.  I admit it  I had no idea.  So good info.

Awesome history!

Maybe it is time we fly them all together

Let's Remove Spineless Elected Officials in SC Rather than the Confederate Flag

CONFEDERATE FLAG? Erase History, All Will Be Well!
The Confederate Flag represents many things; it's history is a complicated one. Leftists want to change past history by simply erasing it.

CONFEDERATE FLAG? Erase History, All Will Be Well.

Who’dathunkit. After all these years and all those national conversations on race, all we gotta do to fix it is remove the confederate flag from public view?

That is what we’re being sold. Remove said flag and a new era of peace, love, and understanding will commence. Never again will mobs burn a CVS once that flag is taken down.

Thing is, the confederate flag isn’t representative of a singular topic. Progressives want it to be because that’s how progressives operate. Construct a narrative, attach it to a person or a thing, and then use it as a vehicle to ease in their agenda. In this case the narrative is racism represented by the confederate flag which must be removed to make way for the progressive agenda.

Obviously the confederate flag represents much more. It was a Democrat symbol from the 1850s well into the previous century. Democrat luminaries waved that flag as they attained electoral victories. The confederate flag represented income inequality. The pre-Civil War American economy featured unique paradigms north and south.

In the south, a very wealthy plantation owning elite dominated poor whites and blacks alike. My ancestors were among those poor whites who struggled to subsist in that economy. Slavery was, of course, a national holocaust. Even in places like Augusta, GA – where slaves lived in their own neighborhoods off the plantation and commuted to and from work – the relatively benign flavor of slavery doesn’t alleviate it’s evil. It’s worth noting that through the process of manumission slavery could have ended, and become a part of history’s vast dustbin.

The confederate battle flag, which is the one people are upset about as opposed to the national flag of the Confederate States of America, represents the Civil War itself and Americans that suffered through a war that nearly ended the United States itself. It doesn’t represent slavery or racism. Rather, it represents a trying time in our collective history where ideological entrenchments severed our country and even households. The battle flag isn’t retained, then, as a symbol of jubilation but rather, as one of somber reflection. Through Reconstruction the former Confederate States of America were restored to the United States and our nation began to heal.

CONFEDERATE FLAG MUST GO? Then So Must the Democrats Since They Created It
If the Confederate flag must go, then so too must the Democratic Party which is responsible for it.

CONFEDERATE FLAG MUST GO? Then So Must the Democrats Since They Created It

Political and cultural elites have informed us the Confederate flag must go since they say it is a sign of racism, and if this is the case the Democratic Party, which created it, also must go. Failure to dissolve the Democratic Party is not an option. We must act.

Understanding why the Democratic Party must be dissolved first requires examining what has happened in the past few days involving the Confederate flag and the U.S.’ suddenly deciding that it is a symbol that needs to be destroyed.

I’m not from the South and so I don’t care about the Confederate flag. But I understand propaganda and controlling a narrative. Thus, I understand that those exploiting Dylann Roof slaughtering nine people are in control of a narrative meant to make another fundamental change to the nation. And the usual suspects of the GOP and the conservative establishment are playing into their hands by joining the calls to ban the Confederate flag. They are united in conditioning people to cry, “Racism!” merely at the sight of the flag, and subsequently to think of Southerners as the evilest of evil white men.

Nevertheless, some conservatives argue that removing the Confederate flag is the “right thing to do” even if the Democrat-Media Complex will use it to advance its cause. The Democrats also say it is the right thing to do even as that’s not what they really believe. Both groups have declared that the Confederate flag is undeniably a symbol of racism. Some have even compared the Confederates to the Nazis, saying we wouldn’t have dared allow the swastika to remain after the defeat of the Nazis. Therefore, all involved, communists and conservatives, have gone on record as saying that “doing the right thing”—regardless of how many people support it—is why the Confederate flag must go. And in making this decision and using these arguments they have all unknowingly condemned the Democratic Party.

If a failure to banish the Confederate flag is equivalent to a would-have-been failure to banish the swastika, then the failure to destroy the Democratic Party is equivalent to a would-have-been failure to destroy the National Socialists. After all, the Democratic Party created the Confederacy and the Confederate flag.

Therefore, the nation is now in an interesting position: allow the Democratic Party to continue existing and by our leaders’ own words allow the equivalent of the Nazi Party to continue existing, or do the right thing and forever dissolve it.

Fact Check:   'Joe Biden Claims ‘We Didn’t Lock People Up In Cages’

CLAIM: Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed, on immigration: “We didn’t lock people up in cages.”

VERDICT: FALSE. The “cages” were built by the Obama-Biden administration.

Univision moderator Jorge Ramos asked Biden at the third Democrat debate at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, why Latinos should trust him after the Obama administration continued deporting “undocumented immigrants.”

Biden claimed that the Obama administration’s policies were more humane than those of President Donald Trump: “We didn’t lock people up in cages,” he said.

In fact, the “cages” were built by the Obama administration to deal with a surge of unaccompanied minors who crossed the border illegally in 2014.

Originally, the Obama administration was “warehousing” children — literally — in overwhelmed Border Patrol facilities. Breitbart News broke the story of the surge, which was partly triggered by Obama’s policy of allowing illegal alien children who entered the country as minors to stay in the country (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA).

The above photo was published by the Associated Press in June 2014, and the photo below is of Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, touring a Border Patrol facility with “cages.”

The “cages” are chain-link enclosures in Border Patrol processing facilities that are meant to protect children from adults in custody. They are not permanent accommodations.

In mid-2018, as the Trump administration began enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy that stopped the “catch-and-release” policy of letting illegal aliens go after they were arrested. Detaining adults and children meant that children had to be processed separately; the enclosures prevented adults from harming children.

As Breitbart News reported at the time, children were not housed in “cages.” They were processed and then taken to shelters, where they were given medical care, toiletries, education, recreation, and counseling, and where staff attempted to find relatives or sponsors to whom they could be released.

Democrats began tweeting images of “kids in cages” to condemn the Trump administration. Journalists, too, shared those images.

One problem: they were taken during the Obama administration.

Public outrage at the images led President Trump to end the policy, and require families to be detained together.

Democrats keep repeating the mistake, however: in July, they had to delete a tweet that used an image from the Obama era and cited the “inhumane treatment” of children by the Trump administration.

Republicans argue that not detaining illegal aliens is actually the cruel policy, because it encourages migrants to undertake a dangerous journey, often guided by cartels and smugglers.

As Breitbart News’ Alana Mastrangelo noted recently:

But what’s worse than “cages,” however, are reports of migrant children also being handed over to human traffickers during the Obama administration — while Biden was vice president — according to the New York Times. Between October 2013 and July 2015 alone, nearly 80,000 unaccompanied children from Central American countries were detained by U.S. authorities.

It remains unclear how many of the tens of thousands of children were handed over to human traffickers — including sex traffickers — during that span of nearly two years, as those cases are reportedly not tracked.

“Others were ransomed by the very smugglers to whom their families paid thousands of dollars to sneak them into the United States,” reported the New York Times in 2015, during Obama’s presidency and Biden’s vice presidency. “Some lost limbs during the journey or found themselves sold into sexual slavery.”

Biden told voters in South Carolina last month that he would close all border detention facilities, guaranteeing that the migrant flow would continue.
