Five IMPORTANT Facts You Did Not Know About This Flag

The confusion caused by the similarity in the flags of the Union and the Confederacy was of great concern to Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard after the first Battle of Manassas. He suggested that the Confederate national flag be changed to something completely different, in order to avoid confusion in battles in the future. However, this idea was rejected by the Confederate government. Beauregard then suggested that there should be two flags. One, the National flag, and the second one being a battle flag, with the battle flag being completely different from the United States flag.

  1. This is not the National Flag of the Confederacy. It is a battle flag.  Three national flags were tried before the final design was settled on:

  • The first National flag design looked too much like the Union Flag and caused confusion in commanding armies in maneuvers.

  • The second one looked too much like a surrender flag when there was no breeze and it was hanging limply..

  • A vertical red bar was added to the third and final version of the Confederate national flag.

  1. The Confederate Battle Flag was never a National Flag of the Confederacy. It was carried into battle by several armies such as the Army Of Northern Virginia and the Army of Tennessee. It was also used as a Naval Jack by the Confederate Navy.

  1.  The Battle Flag was not called the Stars and Bars. It was called the Southern Cross.

  1.  The original Battle Flag design was a square flag and not a rectangle.

  1.  No Confederate flag was ever flown on a slave ship.  English, Dutch, Portuguese, and the New England States ships were used in the slave trade.

It is necessary to disclaim any connection of these flags to neo-nazis, red-necks, skin-heads and the like. These groups have usurped this flag and desecrated it by their acts. They have no moral right to use this flag – it is a flag of honor, designed by the confederacy to distinguish itself from the Union  .

In fact, under attack, it still flies over the South Carolina capitol building. The South denies any relation to these hate groups and denies them the right to use the flags of the confederacy for any purpose. The crimes committed by these groups under the stolen banner of the confederacy only exacerbate the lies which link the secession to slavery interests when, from a Southerner’s view, the cause was to distinguish itself from the Union.

Huckabee: Confederate flag-waving South Carolina can’t be racist because it has an ‘Indian’ governor

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee - Meet The Press screencap

Appearing on Meet The Press, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee refused to condemn the state of South Carolina for flying the Confederate flag, instead saying the state can’t possibly be racist because they elected an ‘Indian’ governor.

Speaking with host Chuck Todd, the possible Republican presidential nominee continually avoided offering a personal opinion on the flag, failing to answer whether he would ever display one. Instead he turned the questions about flying the flag representing the Confederacy into a defense of the people of South Carolina.

“We’re asking, ‘Is South Carolina a racist state because of the flag on their capital grounds?'” Huckabee said. “Here’s what I can tell you. As a frequent visitor to South Carolina, this is a state that largely white people elected a female governor of Indian descent and the first ever African-American senator from the South.”

Huckabee went on to compare the diversity of South Carolina’s lawmakers to liberal bastions such as New York and Massachusetts, before Todd attempted, once again, to turn the discussion back to the flag.

“Let me just ask you this personally,” Todd queried. “Are you comfortable displaying the Confederate battle flag in public?”

“I don’t personally display it anywhere, so it’s not an issue for me,” Huckabee replied. “And so that’s an issue for the people of South Carolina. Do you display it? I doubt it. Does anyone on your panel display it? I doubt it. For us it’s not an issue.”

Huckabee added that he didn’t believe candidates for the presidency should concern themselves with the matter.

Failing to get an answer, Todd moved on.

Hey pretty soon I am going to turn mine upside down, "so what difference does it make"!!!!!!

Wake Up America, these political fools are damaging our Country almost beyond repair and they are worried about a Confederate flag makes me sick!!!!

Get real here these fools are stealing your Country and you worry about this crap???

Pretty soon we may all be flying the Mexican Flag they way things are going, or the United Nations Flag, but sure as heck not our own....Fire them all Raise your Flag and Wake Up America!!!!

They always sneak climate change into everything have you all noticed this fact????

If a lie is told often enough, it will be believed by the minions and kool-aid drinkers.

Would be nice if news media and others would read this but a good chance. They like to push false narrative

They are doing all they can to rewrite actual history by lies and ignorant tales.

Yes they are.  They want to wipe our history off the books.  Kind of reminds me of the old movie, the Time Machine.

Thanks for the 'right info'

Only the ignorant would in anyway attribute the flag as the contributor to existing race relations.  However, we are hearing that very noise coming from the left and even from some of the right, Romney as an example. How can we ever resolve the problems with blacks if we continue to tackle the problem with this mindset.

I've always known that the 'Stars and Bars' was nothing then a Confederate Battle flag. If those moronic fools want to see a flag that represents racist or intolerance just look at the piece of garbage used by ISIS.

If those idiots took the time to do a little research they would find that there was quite a few blacks that fought for the Confederate States of America. They were fighting for their beloved South.

The following was the true flag of the CSA.

  • A vertical red bar was added to the third and final version of the Confederate national flag.

It is very easy for those that are not born in the South to want to  remove the Confederate flag.  But for those of us that were born in the South, and have ancestors that fought and died.  To remove the flag is like removing the memory of those ancestors.  My ancestor enlisted in a Georgia unit, March 2, 1862 and surrendered at Appromattox, April 9, 1865.  He was 44, had a wife and two children.  He did not fight for slavery, or states rights.  He had no slaves, he was a farmer, and went to fight to protect his family and property.

Gene, I don't know if I had any family that fought for the CSA but if I had I would be just as proud and the way I see it there were a lot of men, both black, white and brown, that fought for those that they loved.

May the Great Spirit watch over you and yours and guide yours and their steps for all eternity.

US Combat Veteran: Vietnam, '68-'69; Door gunner, 228th Avn. Bn. (ASH), 1st Cav. Div. (AM) and former Armored Cavalry Scout (19D30) and damned proud to have served and would do it again if this wonderful country and its people ever needed me because my oath of enlistment does not have an expiration date. (However, not under BHO and his Socialist Regime.) Enlisted into the Army Dec. 20, '63 and retired from the Id. Air National Guard Apr. 1, '92 as an E-6.

Gene, I wasn't born in the south, I was born in ILL.  I never had anything against the south.  I now live in Arizona.  Am pretty happy here.

Gene, thank you for sharing how your family was dedicated to his family. Unfortunately, the left is lying and changing history that many have lived into outright lies, allusions. Moreover, they are intolerant of those who know and speak the truth. It must be their way and only their way. May God bless you and your family, Gene. We had been a stronger nation because of the sacrifices made. Now, the libs take everything for granted and refuse to serve as your ancestors had.

ALERT ALERT

1 Billion Dollar Net Worth!!! Oberlin College Claims Poverty To Avoid Paying Punitive Damages To Gibson’s Bakery

Although IRS reports show the university is worth around $1 billion, Oberlin College still claimed poverty to avoid paying punitive damages to Gibson’s Bakery.

As Breitbart News reported this week, the far-left Oberlin College lost a defamation case filed by Gibson’s Bakery after a local jury found the university liable for falsely accusing the family bakery of racism.

The jury ordered Oberlin on Friday to pay Gibson’s $11.2 million in compensatory damages for defamation and intentional interference with a business.

Legal Insurrection reported on Thursday that “the jury awarded a total of $33 million in punitive damages, which will probably be reduced by the court to $22 million because of the state law cap at twice compensatory.”

Legal Insurrection has been following the case for two years — since the beginning — and reports that the school’s only defense against a sizable punitive award is to pretend it is poor, despite holding assets that amount to a billion — with a “b” — dollars and despite paying some of its staffers more than a half-million dollars a year:

Oberlin College was so hellbent on getting the message out that their cash liquidity was in such dire straits — as the eight-person jury was figuring out if they wish to add $22.4 million to the school’s legal verdict bill — that they brought out the school’s president, Carmen Twillie Ambar to the stand to tell that part the story.

“We’ve created deficits … and over the next ten years, if this continues, that is unsustainable and we will not exist,” Ambar told the jury. She even indicated the school’s grants — about $60 million a year from the school, and lots of students get those scholarships as only 10% of them pay the full $70,000 a year — were important to preserve as “the accessibility of education” was a key component of the school’s purpose.

However…

The college has more than $1 billion in funds and net assets according to the latest IRS 990 form, an endowment fund that had grown from $440 million to $887 million in the last 20 years, and because of its non-profit status, pays no taxes on any property it owns.

It also had 18 members of their administration making more than $100,00 a year. The president and chief financial officer of the school were both making more than $500,000 a year.

Grifters gonna grift…

The day after Donald Trump won the presidency, this nutball school apparently decided to take out its impotent woke-rage on this poor bakery, which has been part of the Oberlin community for more than a century.

It all started when three Oberlin students (who would later plead guilty in a plea deal) attempted to steal bottles of wine.

The proprietors caught the students and, while attempting to hold them until police arrived, were allegedly roughed up by the shoplifters. But because the students are black and the proprietors white — and with no respect for due process or facts — Oberlin staffers and students decided some vigilantism was in order and did everything in their considerable power to destroy this local bakery forever, to smite it off the map.

Classes were canceled so hundreds of students could protest in front of the small store while enjoying free food and drink, courtesy of the school. School staffers handed out fliers that basically described the family-owned bakery as the local branch of the KKK.

As a result, the bakery had to lay off almost all of its employees and barely avoided bankruptcy.

In the end, the three shoplifters said race had nothing to do with what happened.

For those of you interested in incurring $200,000 in debt before you even enter the workforce, it looks as though you can major in Mob Justice at Oberlin.
