A grand jury indicted Governor Rick Perry Friday for his attempts to remove Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg from office after she was arrested for driving while intoxicated last year in a case that made national headlines.

In April 2013, Lehmberg was arrested after a witness called 911, describing her as driving erratically, swerving back and forth into the bike lane, and into oncoming traffic. Officers at the scene reportedly found an open bottle of vodka in her car, and a blood sample obtained later that evening purportedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.239—almost three times the legal limit—even that many hours later.

Not only did her arrest attracted headlines, but her belligerent behavior after she was brought to the police station—all captured on video tape—drew attention, as well. Lehmberg is seen blaming the police for destroying her political career, yelling and insulting them; demanding that they call Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton; sticking out her tongue; making faces; kicking at the door to her cell; and eventually getting restrained with leg irons, being strapped to a chair and wearing what is commonly referred to as a “spit mask,” which is usually used when a detainee is spitting or biting. To be fair, the video does not expressly show that happening, and Lehmberg’s defense attorney later claimed that the mask was used to “protect her identity.”

What else could it be?

That women's drunk and digging herself a hole very deep hole. The cop gave her all the chances...Semper Fi Nam 66-67

Typical LOSER Demonrat response!!!!! I'm gonna sue you for telling me to shape up, or ship out

This classy lawyer lady, dressed to the "nines" in her stunning Sunday-go-to-meetin’ outfit, was simply showing all the signs of her approaching senior years. At 63, several of her gross motor skills are just starting to get a little rusty ... her arms, her feet, her legs, her hands, her balance, her mouth and several more; all of which are self-evident to any trained observer in the video. I'm sure her doctor prescribed a couple (only 2, no more) glasses of red wine at the end of every working day in court, to ease the debilitating pain in her failing left hip. Sadly she was fresh out of Red Wine (finished it up at lunch) and substituted an old bottle of vodka she just happened to have rolling around in her trunk. Therefore, she was just driving herself home from work, minding her own business and causing nobody any trouble; when some recalcitrant local tramp with a cell phone recognized her as the local District Attorney, and called in a totally false police report. Obviously that person had a vendetta against her from a prior court date. Those two local STORM TROOPERS were clearly guilty of committing Elder-Abuse and of providing unrequested standing-upright assistance and should BOTH be indicted for same, locked up forever and the key thrown away. IS THERE NO JUSTICE IN TEXAS ANY LONGER? Where was Eric Holder when she needed him; doesn’t she have him on retainer? God save us all.

Remember: Their ideology trumps everything else. And that would also include, race.

The Democrat DA stacked the County Grand Jury with Democrats...of course she got an indictment.

Doesn't make sense to give 7.5 million to a drunk to control.  Liberal attorneys force to work for a living instead of feeding from the State trough.

There was a coyote that came after Perry, and it did not fare well either.

If you think this is "something new", you don't know about a certain still sitting judge in East Tennessee that has gotten a reputation for his public drunkenness, that every cop in the county knows where he lives because they have had to take him home to "sober up"!  His reputation was so public and well-known, that the Court of the Judiciary in Nashville finally had to "do something" about him - like threaten to remove him from the Bench and force him to relinquish his "silent partner" status in a local BAR. He would get drunk at the Bar, but put his drinking buddies behind bars the next day in court for doing the same thing he was doing with them the night before!

Some say he was noticeably drunk in court, to the point of falling to sleep during testimony in court!

Rumor has it that he has sobered up, but the reputation still stands, and he keeps getting re-elected every time his name comes up for staying or leaving!

Yes, folks, that name-recognition deal has some people really fooled!

OMG!!! Ruth Bader Ginsburg Voted Best Real-Life Hero At MTV Awards

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday was crowned the best real-life hero at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The 86-year old judge — whose 2015 biopic The Notorious RBG help cement her as a cultural icon among Liberals — beat out tennis star Serena Williams, WWE wrestler Roman Reigns, and comedian Hannah Gadsby to take him the award.

Though it wasn’t a clean sweep for Ginsburg last night.

The RGB documentary lost the “Best Fight” category for “Ruth Bader Ginsburg vs. Inequality” to “Captain Marvel vs. Minn-Erva.”

The justice was absent from the ceremony in Santa Monica, California.

Last December, Ginsburg had surgery to remove cancerous growths on her left lung. She was released from the hospital in New York four days later and recuperated at home.

Earlier this year, Ginsburg missed three days of arguments, the first time that’s happened since she joined the court in 1993. Still, she was allowed to participate using court briefs and transcripts.

Ginsburg has had two previous bouts with cancer, in 1999 and 10 years later.

Flashback: Ruth Bader Ginsburg: A Pregnant Woman Is Not A ‘Mother’

Celebrated liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg argued in an opinion released Tuesday that a pregnant woman is not a “mother.”

“[A] woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a ‘mother’,” Ginsburg wrote in a footnote, which in turn responded to another footnote in the 20-page concurring opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas in the Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky Inc. case.

As Breitbart News’ legal editor Ken Klukowski reported, the case concerned a law signed by then-Governor (now Vice President) Mike Pence of Indiana in 2016, which required that the remains of an aborted fetus (or baby) be disposed of by cremation or burial. The law also prohibited abortion on the basis of sex, race, or disability alone.

The Court upheld the first part of the law, but declined to consider the selective-abortion ban until more appellate courts had ruled on it.

In his lengthy opinion — which delighted pro-life advocates, and distressed pro-choice activists — Thomas wrote that “this law and other laws like it promote a State’s compelling interest in preventing abortion from becoming a tool of modern-day eugenics.” He traced the racist and eugenicist beliefs of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, and warned that the Court would one day need to wrestle with abortion as form of racial discrimination.

In a footnote, Thomas attacked Ginsberg’s dissenting opinion, which argued the Court should not have deferred to the legal standard used by the litigants in the lower courts, but should have subjected the Indiana law to a more difficult standard instead, since it impacted “the right of [a] woman” to an abortion.

Ginsburg cited no legal authority for her claim that a pregnant woman is not a “mother.” The claim that a fetus is not a child is central to pro-choice arguments.
