Donald Trump torches influential congressman for supporting Marco Rubio

Real-estate mogul Donald Trump repeatedly blasted Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-South Carolina) on Sunday after reports emerged that the influential congressman is set to endorse Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) for president.

Trump, the Republican front-runner, pointed to Gowdy's high-profile October hearing on the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead.

"His hearings were a disaster. Everybody was looking forward to something that was going to be really productive. And he didn't win with those hearings. It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country," Trump said Sunday morning on "Fox & Friends."

Gowdy chairs the House Republican-led Select Committee on Benghazi, which grilled former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the attack for 11 hours, much of which was broadcast live on cable news. That day was widely regarded as a political win for Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, though some critics chastised that media narrative.

But Trump was clearly unhappy with how Gowdy managed that hearing.

"I mean, beyond Republicans it was very bad for the country," he said. "So I hope he does a lot better for Marco than he did for the Benghazi hearings. Because they were not good. That was not a pretty picture."

We all had high hopes for the Trey. But I had noticed as had others that nothing was 'really ' happening with the hearings. My conclusion after a while. Trey is a front man.....a pathetic poor excuse for a prosecutor. He is weak that;s all Trey the Weakling.

We were all gravely disappointed with the Gowdy ah maybe he had the gout at the time you know? Now he will support Rubio............oh man talk about showing your colors.............

Trump will shake the whole shit box....looks like Trump will be peeling some tomatoes too ! lol

Trey Gowdy like the rest of the politicians in DC caved from the presser brought by the good old boys in DC who don't want to change the status quo in DC . The good old boys in DC are afraid of Donald Trump because they know no amount of presser can force Donald Trump to move in their direction .

Trey sure let me down.

Biggest disappointment I've felt in years. Never thought that the boy would turn into the puppet! But I NOW KNOW there are no patriots left in oVomit's government . Mission accomplished, Transformation of our nation, COMPLETE~!!!!!!

I was trusting Gowdy to go the distance for the people.  Now I do not.

Boy, did Trump's remarks hit it!!

What everyone seems to forget is Gowdy was appointed by Boehner. The Benghazi hearings were never meant to go anywhere. It was to appease Republicans and keep them quiet a little while. It's all "political theatre". Boehner never had any intention to prosecute any of the criminals in office, as he was one of them. Gowdy is part of the Establishment, though he talks like he's fighting for us. Nothing has been done in any of the scandals since 2008. It's all theatre, while they destroy our country.

Exactly right, Julie!  I heard this morning that Marco has one foot in the establisment and the other in the conservative party.  Nothing good can come from that awkward position! And Tray Gowdy's support does neither one of them any goodl

Well glad you posted that ..that should, again, clarify Cruz's stand for those that believe he is a conservative.

Well look you know there are people who love the Hellary and will vote for her no matter what.....................

I will hold my opinion of Rep. Gowdy for now. Although I am VERY disappointed if he comes out and endorses Rubio. I have lost a lot of faith in him, if he does so.

I would like to think, and give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he has the "goods" on Hillary and is waiting to bring them all out into the open around June or July of next year so as to ruin her chances of winning. However, that remains to be seen.

Regardless, I cannot fathom how someone who has been, what appears to be, one of the best real conservatives in the republican party and still could endorse Rubio for president over the likes of Trump or Cruz. Let's pray that there is a LOT MORE behind this story and has yet to be told.

Trey is a man with a BIG mouth....but little to do about criminals in DC. No Guts ...No Glory!

SWEET: Republican Representative Introduces Resolution To Expel Nancy Pelosi From Congress

Louisiana Republican Rep. Ralph Abraham has introduced legislation to expel Speaker Nancy Pelosi from the House of Representatives.

Abraham’s resolution accuses Pelosi of a “vicious crusade” against President Donald Trump.

Above: Rep. Ralph Abraham

“Nancy Pelosi’s vicious crusade against our lawfully-elected President is nothing more than a politically-motivated witch hunt and it must be stopped,” Abraham said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “She has disgraced the people’s House and weaponized the Speaker’s gavel for her party’s political gain.”

“House Democrats spent nearly three years obsessed with election meddling only to dwarf any such efforts with their own deceitful plan to nullify the 2016 election and prevent President Trump from winning in 2020,” the statement continued. “I have introduced a resolution calling for her to be expelled from the House and for the Speaker’s Office to be vacated.”

The text of the resolution, which is most definitely not going to pass the Democrat-controlled House reads: “Resolved, That pursuant to Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, Representative Nancy Pelosi be, and she hereby is, expelled from the House of Representatives and the Office of the Speaker is declared to be vacant.”

Fox News notes that constitutional clause holds that “Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.”
