Image result for dems want reparationsMembers of the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democrats this week re-introduced legislation that would set up a commission to consider whether reparations should be paid to black Americans for slavery.

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., has proposed the bill in each Congress for at least the last two decades.

A description of the bill said the legislation would set up a commission to both examine the possibility of reparations, but also an apology for the "racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans."

It's a response to the "fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States."

Give me a BREAK !

Ok IMHO we give reparations. On condition those that take it. Give up their American citizenship, passport and immigrate to Liberia the country that was made for them long ago ! That will stop this non-sense dead in it's TRACKS ! We'll hear no MORE from those crying for reparations.

Reparations were paid in BLOOD on the battlefields of the Civil War. By both sides ! Of course this comes from one of the most corrupt black politicians in DC.

Amen !

Yes,I want reparations for what these miscreants like Conyers have done to our country.

Ok, when they return all the money they have gotten for welfare, healthcare, EITC tax credits, food stamps, education funding, housing subsidies, free phones etc etc

Don't forget years of Affirmative Action where priority was given in hiring to color of skin vs actual job qualifications. Need to pay back all the talented people that were denied fruits of their hard work and talents so minimally qualified people of color could be hired. Also reparations should be paid to those of us that had to put up with these affirmative action hires attitude of I don't need to perform at a high level to stay working here because I will pull the race card. So those of us had to pick up their slack and performance gaps to keep our company afloat!

this is just pathetic...all they want is free money

how about doing away with  social security and returning the money to it's rightful  owners

let's see tax statements from the members of the congressional black caucus

Along with my guns, "out of my cold, dead hands!"

He should send the bill to the tribal chiefs in Africa who sold their people into slavery

Not this again!

First, there are no slaves alive... not even second generation survivors of slavery...

Next, the Black community has been receiving reparations since 1964, thru various Civil Rights Acts and Programs.  They have been the benefactors of massive welfare forums... housing, food, education, transportation, medical, etc.  Congress has passed various pieces of legislation which promote affirmative action including ... the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Opportunity Employment Act, Affirmative Action programs, set asides for minority businesses and government contractors, SBA cut outs and other programs, specifically designed to provide financial and other advantages to Blacks and their businesses. The Black community is a privileged minority which has enjoyed trillions of dollars in government reparations... it is time that these programs are closed... stopped not expanded.

Finally, our forefather's paid reparations, in the form of blood and treasure, during the Civil War... 600K dead and millions more crippled, the South in ruins, taking it nearly 100 years to recover.  I would think that any reparations owed have been more than satisfied.

It is disgraceful how some elements of our society believe they are owed  a living... claiming reparations from those who never owned a slave. It is further telling, how many of the Blacks today have NO ROOTS in America's slave days... because their families arrived in the US after the civil war... but rail about non-existent claims of injury and call for reparations.

These individuals are of the worst sort... and need to be soundly and roundly told NO.  If there is any slavery practiced in the world today it is happening in Africa... Black on Black slavery.

Joe Biden Talks To The Dead: – He Worked On Paris Climate Deal With Long-Dead Chinese Leader

Former Vice President Joe Biden mistakenly claimed on Monday that he worked on the Paris Climate Accord with former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping — who died more than 20 years before its signing.

Joe Biden claimed tonight that he worked with Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping on the Paris Climate Accord.

Except the current Chinese President is Xi Jinping.

Deng Xiapoing left office in 1992 and has been dead for 23 years.

Biden made the gaffe while citing his accomplishments in President Barack Obama’s administration.

“One of the things I’m proudest of is getting passed, getting moved, getting in control of the Paris Climate Accord,” Biden said in a speech at the College of Charleston. “I’m the guy who came back after meeting with Deng Xiaoping and making the case that I believe China will join if we put pressure on them. We got almost 200 nations to join.”

Xiaoping served as the leader of China from 1978 until his retirement in 1992, and passed away in 1997. Xi Jinping, China’s current president, came to power 2013 and signed the country onto the 2016 agreement.

In June 2017, President Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the agreement, stating that accord will “undermine the economy” and “puts [the United States] at a permanent disadvantage.”

In addition to the Xiaoping gaffe, Biden bizarrely declared in a campaign speech that he is a “candidate for the United States Senate” and that people could “vote for the other Biden” if they prefer one of his rivals.

“My name is Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over, if you like what you see, help out. If not, vote for the other Biden,” the 77-year-old said at the First in the South Dinner.

Biden’s confusing comments come as Democrat primary candidates are scheduled to debate in Charleston Tuesday evening. The former vice president faces increasing pressure to give a standout performance as his “firewall” in the Palmetto State crumbles in the face of a surging Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The Vermont senator is fresh off a decisive victory in Nevada caucuses on Saturday. Earlier this month, he placed first the New Hampshire primary and won the popular vote in Iowa. In a survey released Monday, the Public Policy Polling outfit said Biden leads South Carolina with 36 percent of support and Sanders is in second at 21 percent.
