The Tea Party has had an up-and-down political ride since the movement helped Republicans take control of the House in 2010, but those elected in the midterm elections still appear to wield considerable power in the fiscal negotiations.
The roughly 50 members elected to the House two years ago have been a challenge for the more moderate House Speaker John Boehner since they took office. Perhaps most memorably, many of them refused last year to support a debt-ceiling bill because they said it didn’t reduce federal spending enough.
Just last week they squashed Boehner’s fiscal plan by refusing to compromise and vote on a tax increase for any American, despite the House speaker -- in his so-called “Plan B” -- having suggested extending tax cuts only for those making more than $1 million annually.
And their most powerful vote might be yet to come, should Tea Party-backed House members reject a possible Senate proposal over the next two days to extend tax cuts and perhaps avert massive federal spending cuts that start January 1.
“They lost in November, rather resoundingly, but still appearing to be doubling down,” Democratic strategist Christy Setzer told Fox News on Saturday.

Where can we get the details for the April 15th march?
Permalink Reply by National Director, Dee on December 30, 2012 at 5:05pm Then you will be sitting there doing nothing. There are a lot of permits that have to be obtained, facilities have to be brought in and there has to be arrangements made for a speakers. All that costs....and it is very very expensive. If you don't do it right...the police will not let you do anything.
Adam Kokesh got arrested for dancing with others in a silent protest. The video is on youtube...I watched it live.
If you don't do it right, you will be arrested....that's pretty much the bottom line. If you are okay with that...fine. Just don't mention this site....
You are on a social site. We provide you with information to educate the masses. We expect people to learn and take what they have learned into their own communities. That is how you influence elections and DC because politics flow upward. What is done in your town and your state ultimately will be reflected in Washington...as this article clearly illustrates.
We do activism usually via email, phone and fax one issue at a time. We let our Congress critters know how we feel.
I see this all the time with people new to the site.
I will stress again, if you want to do something...do it in your town and your state. It does work. Are you a precinct committeeman? They can have the power to choose who gets on the ballot. That is how the Dems did it...and we can do it too.
I googled a 2013 March on DC...I got ONE hit. A Red State blog with zero comments. If the big sites don't know about it, it ain't happening.
Permalink Reply by john smithson on December 30, 2012 at 5:32pm Dee, youre 100% right, but theres another side of the coin. I have to use an example to explain. We have the right to assemble under our Constitution. EX either Georgia Or N. Carolina, I'll get the details sorry I dont have them now. TEA PARTY event Jan Morgan was guest speaker. They held this event in a large fiend, very low cost, folks brought their own lunchs all food, cleaned up after themselves, porto potties were set up, low cost, volunteers built a stage, low cost-most donated. P.A. system donated, generator donated. We can live on a low budget, Ive probably forgot some things, Just had a small Tea Party event held in an American Legion hall donated, this goes on all over the country. Now DC thats another issue, I can hardly wait, I'll get back to you on this, plans & talks lay out are under way, I'll keep you informed If you wish, you'll be the 1st to know if you wish-stating progress or whatever or answer any questions if I can. or give you some names of those involved, I have to ck w/ whoever first. If OK w/ you & command center volunteers from here can be asked, donations can be asked, I know I forgot some things, anyone please feel free to ask anything, If none of this is OK thats OK. Ive done many events simular to this including Billy Grahm Crusades, Militia events etc. God Bless

Just imagine this Administration wants to disarm the American people after they committed 'Fast and Furious' killing thousands of mexicans and some U.S. border Patrol guards like Brian Terry !!!! But Feinstein won't mention 'Fast and Furious' will she..
Permalink Reply by Gene Szymanski on December 30, 2012 at 2:05pm YES! YES! "We The People" do have a VOICE in congress, THANKS to the alive and kicking TEA PARTY. Yes we do and will keep backing those in government that adhere to our CONSERVATIVE IDEALS.
Permalink Reply by Conjetta Michele Condra on December 31, 2012 at 12:34pm We can do several things. First, urge your representatives to vote "present" when then"fiscal cliff" vote comes. Put the onus on the Democrats and let them answer at the polls in two years. Second: think about how you spend your enteretainment dollars. Support conservative entertainers avoid liberal ones. This includes TV, theater, and music. Make liberal entertainers poison. If you insure with Progressive, change your insurance--even if it means higher premiums. Contact sponsors of programs whose stars are liberals, and tell them you won't buy their products while they support these actors. In other words, vote with your checkbooks. Will it cost you more? Probably, but it is time for us to put up or shut up.
Money is the most important factor in this society. Make it work for us.
Permalink Reply by john smithson on December 30, 2012 at 2:19pm Thanks Dee: Ibelieve theres 23,000+ registered with this group now Im not sure of the total count how ever theres millions in support. Plus theres many other large & small Tea Party Groups with millions in support. I receive many E-Mails & FB, Twitter plus I go to many Tea Party sites. At the present time Im seeing a hugh growth in all or at least most Tea Party groups. All dumb dem strategists like Christy or Bob Beckel on fox cant & dont want to get the facts straight Allen Combs is another dumb dem. Fox is also losing its grip on reality. Ive supported Fox since their beginning, however they have problems now. To support Fox they invite many good conservatives such as Michelle Melkin, Ann Colter, Laura Ingram & many more Judge N went to Fox Business hes great- Glen Beck had his problems W/ Fox Beck is great. Long live & God Bless the Tea Party & America
