Cruz: 'Do Democrats Understand They Need to Control the House to Impeach?'

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told the Conservative Political Action Conference outside D.C. today that "many times" since Jan. 20 he has "raised a glass and toasted Harry Reid."

"Because Harry Reid employed the so-called nuclear option, broke the Senate rules to change the Senate rules, lowered the threshold for confirmation from 60 votes to 51 votes. And it is a direct result of Harry Reid that we now have the most conservative Cabinet in decades," Cruz said. "...Let me on behalf of CPAC thank Harry Reid, thank you for Attorney General Jeff Sessions. And also, we should be thanking Harry Reid for EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. For Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. And very, very soon, I look forward to thanking Harry Reid for Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch."

"Should we thank Keith Ellison, too?" Cruz quipped to applause from the crowd.

Democratic National Committee leadership elections are Saturday, and Cruz dubbed the Minnesota congressman "likely to be the next chairman of the DNC."

"And I'm sure the vast majority of Americans, given his background with Farrakhan, will be very excited about that. Shall we get behind him at CPAC? What do you say?" the senator continued. "Listen, I will commend the Democrats for one thing. If they name Keith Ellison as the head of the DNC, then I'll commend them for truth in advertising."

Cruz panned impeachment talk a month into President Trump's term.

"Impeachment is a constitutional function. Yes, the left keeps talking about impeachment. I mean, they were talking about impeachment before the inauguration," he said. "And, you know, I think impeaching Obama in January probably would have been a mistake."

Thank you Ted Cruz. As you know, no one has accused the democrats of having more than half a brain.

Their pure motivation is hatred of America and our constitution and to make us a third rate nation.

I say good riddance to their party for cozying up to the muslims and their communist co-partners.

May those with a pure heart and a love of our nation prevail.

May God bless America and the President, Donald J. Trump and his entire staff.

Thank you Ted Cruz. As you know, no one has accused the democrats of having more than half a brain.

THEY DO IT EVERY YEAR

AND

EXPECT A DIFFERENT RESULT

NEED THE HOUSE IS RIGHT AND WE'RE NOT GIVING IT TO THEM !!!!!

Say what you want, but Sen. Cruz is exactly right.

I say on here all the time that I love the likes of nasty nancy, max waters, dirty hairy and all the rest of them. And, now Sen. Cruz is proving my point.

These people are the best thing that ever happened to the Conservative and Trump movement. AND, I have even said I hope and pray they elect the muslim, "kill the demorat party, keith ellison."

Why? Because they do more to rile up the Republican's and Conservatives than anything or anyone. Every time they open their mouths, all they do is tick off more and more common American's and push them to the right. And, to think that they want a muslim leading their party, will just put the final nail in their coffin. OR, I hope so!!

I know the left leaning people are not the brightest bulb on the street, but many of them know, a muslim as their leader, IS NOT THE ANSWER.

No one will have to commend the Dems for choosing Muslim Ellison, as they just elected Tom Perez

why would not having the votes to impeach stop these knuckleheads from saying stupid stuff

They have no grounds.  In less you consider them insane.

They can invent fake grounds...it's the votes that they don't have.

They figure if they whine, cry, have a tantrum........they'll just miraculously get whatever they want...

Image result for democrats having temper tantrum

I am sure they do realize this...why they are "focused" on state elections for 2018 now more than ever. Become a precinct committeeman now and get even more involved..even if it is just making calls and mailing....we all can do something....they will only become more evil, lying, commie scumbags than they are now.

I don't know Teddy  they seem kinda dense  don't they?

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
