Congress: Joining Antifa Is Now Illegal – Punishable By 15 Years In Prison

Congress has drafted a new law making the act of joining or supporting Antifa punishable by a 15 year prison sentence.  Under the proposed act, anyone caught engaging in traditional Antifa activities, including wearing a mask, threatening, intimidating or oppressing people “in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege” will be imprisoned for at least 15 years.

The bill, known as the Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018,” is the first time Congress has recognized the far-left organization as a potential domestic terrorist threat.

Theepochtimes.com reports: The bill is being proposed by Rep. Dan Donovan (R-NY), Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), and Rep. Ted Budd (R-N.C.). The bill was introduced in June, but it received a push from conservative commentator Mike Cernovich, who retweeted Mic reporter Jack Smith IV on Tuesday. They called on people to contact their representatives to vote for the bill. A number of local Antifa groups, including the Rose City Antifa, posted their disdain about the proposal on social media.

The bill’s name makes reference to Antifa, the far-left extremist group that frequently advocates using violence and sparks riots to block conservative speakers and events. Antifa often use black masks and are clad in all black.

The bill reads: “Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, while in disguise, including while wearing a mask, injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both.”

Earlier this month, Portland Police declared a riot after Antifa and right-wing groups clashed, injuring four people. The Portland Police Department said that one police officer was injured with non-serious injuries.

Nice

This is bull shit... there are plenty of Federal and State laws which already make it illegal to assemble without a permit, threaten the public's safety, insite riot, to possess deadly weapons (clubs, knives, tasers, etc.), create a public nuisance, engage in riot, to disturb the peace, to litter, and in many States the use of vulgar language remains a crime... I say throw the book at them and give them maximum sentences for each crime... not to run concurrently...that should put them away for many, many years..

Instead of enforcing the laws we have Congress wants to make it appear we have no laws and therefore that they and law enforcement have their hands tied... these miscreants of justice are in fact aiding and abetting lawlessness... this Bill will likely die in Congress as it is not intended to pass... it is for show only.

Jesus, Mr. Nelson, read the memo, Congress is creating a law, to stop the growth of Antifa. I would say every knows about what you shared, it is in listed state and federal record.

But I guess you are still trying to show how Intelligent you are.

This has nothing to do with my intelligence... it has everything to do with enforcing the current law...  Our attention must not be misdirected by a bunch of miscreants who call themselves Republicans in Congress.  We don't need more laws we need to enforce our current laws.  However, Congress apparently doesn't know we have existing laws to deal with ANTIFA... or is it that they want to allow ANTIFA to run rip shod over the Public by claiming they have no laws to restrain their conduct.

Any law which will help put a end to their crap in my back yard is welcome.

Tom... this is crap... we don't need to WAIT FOR MORE LAWS to arrest and send ANTIFA thugs to jail for a long, long time... there are many viable laws already available to reign in ANTIFA... we need to enforce our current laws.  Why wait for more laws... laws which do nothing more than the ones we already have... it is a stall tactic by the NEW WORLD ORDER to permit ANTIFA to operate as if there are no laws to keep them from assembling and recking havoc in our communities.

Ronald, you know what is bull shit, or crap, if I use the word it gets edited, or if I say damn, or the damned, it gets edited, but not you, so the real bull shit is your comment...

LOL Tif

Regardless... feces are feces and this stuff stinks... we don't need more laws we need to enforce our current laws... PERIOD... Adding more laws to the books will accomplish nothing unless they are enforced.

I apologize for my language... if I could I would edit the language out... and replace those words with more congenial terms.

I like the idea of stopping the nuts one way or another, so I like the idea of this law...

LOL Tif got to go...

It has not become law as yet... in fact, it has not even left committee or either House on its way to becoming a law.  We have sufficient laws on the books to put ANTIFA members in jail now... use the current law until the new law can be passed and signed into law... so far it hasn't become law.

The ANTIFA are Nazism and Communists!! They are All Anti-Christian and Jewish people / Anti-Israel-Yisrael / Anti-Zionism / Antisemitism / Anti-USA Constitution and Capitalism!!

The ANTIFA is from support from George Soros!!

United We STAND with Israel-Yisrael / Christian Nation United States of America, and our Christian Earth, Divided We FALL!! I am Pro-Israel / Pro-USA / Pro-Life!!

Love Always and Shalom ( Peace ), YSIC \o/

"Congress has drafted a new law making the act of joining or supporting Antifa punishable by a 15-year prison sentence. "

A DRAFT BILL is not law... and in this case, it has not even made it out of committee in either House of Congress... with an election year at hand, it is highly doubtful that this Bill will ever become law during this session of Congress.  Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.  THIS IS NOT LAW...

However, we already have plenty of laws to deal with ANTIFA if they are enforced... enforce our current laws and put these bums in jail for a very long time.

ALERT ALERT

Judge Orders Mueller To Prove  Russia Meddled In Election

Judge Dabney L. Friedrich

A Washington federal judge on Thursday ordered special counsel Robert Mueller’s team to clarify election meddling claims lodged against a Russian company operated by Yevgeny Prigozhin, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Bloomberg.

Concord Management and Consulting, LLC. – one of three businesses indicted by Mueller in February along with 13 individuals for election meddling, surprised the special counsel in April when they actually showed up in court to fight the charges. Mueller’s team tried to delay Concord from entering the case, arguing that thee Russian company not been properly served, however Judge Dabney Friedrich denied the request – effectively telling prosecutors ‘well, they’re here.’

Concord was accused in the indictment of supporting the Internet Research Agency (IRA), a Russian ‘troll farm’ accused of trying to influence the 2016 US election.

On Thursday, Judge Freidrich asked Mueller’s prosecutors if she should assume they aren’t accusing Concord of violating US laws applicable to election expenditures and failure to register as a foreign agent.

Concord has asked Dabney to throw out the charges – claiming that Mueller’s office fabricated a crime, and that there is no law against interfering in elections.

According to the judge’s request for clarification, the Justice Department has argued that it doesn’t have to show that Concord had a legal duty to report its expenditures to the Federal Election Commission. Rather, the allegation is that the company knowingly engaged in deceptive acts that precluded the FEC, or the Justice Department, from ascertaining whether they had broken the law. -Bloomberg

On Monday, Friedrich raised questions over whether the special counsel’s office could prove a key element of their case – saying that it was “hard to see” how allegations of Russian influence were intended to interfere with US government operations vs. simply “confusing voters,” reports law.com.

During a 90-minute hearing, Friedrich questioned prosecutor Jonathan Kravis about how the government would be able to show the Russian defendants were aware of the Justice Department and FEC’s functions and then deliberately sought to skirt them.

“You still have to show knowledge of the agencies and what they do. How do you do that?” Friedrich asked.

Kravis, a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, argued that the government needed only to show that Concord Management and the other defendants were generally aware that the U.S. government “regulates and monitors” foreign participation in American politics. That awareness, Kravis said, could be inferred from the Russians’ alleged creation of fake social media accounts that appeared to be run by U.S. citizens and “computer infrastructure” intended to mask the Russian origin of the influence operation.

“That is deception that is directed at a higher level,” Kravis said. Kravis appeared in court with Michael Dreeben, a top Justice Department appellate lawyer on detail to the special counsel’s office. -law.com

Concord pleaded not guilty in May. Their attorney, Eric Dubelier – a partner at Reed Smith, has described the election meddling charges as “make believe,” arguing on Monday that Mueller’s indictment against Concord “doesn’t charge a crime.”

“There is no statute of interfering with an election. There just isn’t,” said Dubelier, who added that Mueller’s office alleged a “made-up crime to fit the facts they have.”

Dubelier added that the case against Concord Management is the first in US history “where anyone has ever been charged with defrauding the Justice Department” through their failure to register under FARA.
