Common Ideas is what makes ideology - Not background, skin color or financial status

Hello everyone,

I have just become a tea party member. I want to clarify a few things here as a new member.

I am a tea party member

Not because I am white -- I am an Asian Indian

Not because I am Christian -- I am a Hindu

Not because my ancestors travelled on Mayflower -- I am an Immigrant

Not even because I am a registered republican -- Yes, I am, but that is not the point.

I am here because

I believe in most of the ideas Tea Party enlists as their beliefs.

I am patriot of United States of America

I truly believe USA is by far the fairest nation ever manifested on this planet

I want USA to remain the best democracy by keeping its constitution intact

I want Government to be as small as possible

I want FREE enterprise to be guiding principal of the society

I want individual rights for guns for self protection

I want USA to do anything and everything to protect its citizens physically and economically.

Why am I stating seemingly obvious statements? Because, the moment you say they are so obvious, you are missing the point. As we all agree most of these ideas are typically Republican Party ideas. However, I just cannot escape the fact that no matter howmuchever I try I never get a feel that Republican Party is "inclusive" to people who look different. The irony here is that lot of people like me truly believe in these IDEAS which work far better than the failed ideas of the left. I know lots of immigrants like me who truly never even try to go to all white all Christian gatherings of the Republican Party!

I really want TEA PARTY should SOMETHING to fix this problem. Or else eventually right ideas of the RIGHT are going to lose out to the failing ideas of the LEFT. This post may sound blatantly stereotypical or racist, but I am only trying to state genuine problem in Republican Party which can only be fixed by bold new initiatives like TEA party movement.

I think we should make "inclusiveness" as part of the list of principles of Tea party by bold declaration that Tea party believes in common ground in ideas not common physical appearance!

Thank you,

Ven Konuru

Hi Ven my name is Paul, you can be at rest on racial issues in the Republican Party and the Tea Party neither party has ever been racist and never will be, it is funny a country that encourages all cultures and religions to come and one of the political parties here is always scaring people with racism, and it is not the Republicans. I am American first, I hope you are to.
Paul,
You are 100% correct and I know which party you are referring to. But message people get here is quite the opposite. That means the message is not being delivered right. It is not a secret most immigrants and minorities tend to be on side of Democrats even though most of their POLICIES are not helpful to them. I wish republican lords do something about this and start thinking about complaints of people like me.
Ven
Hey Ven , what would you have us do, we built and protected this country for over 200 years and immigrants come here and pickup on the ways of Democrats and cry victim or pickup on Republican and cry Freedom. Shame on those that can't take the time to learn about America and the it's politicians, I hear all the time from people I don't care to vote politics are all the same , well that is a lie what the really means is that citizens, doesn't feel they have a obligation to learn the difference, or they watch late night TV and MTV and think they know the problem with the country. I will say if they care they will learn, if they are out for themselves they won't. If we have to defend every race baiting attack of the the Democrats, we would have to be messaging to immigrants all the time, It would seem that immigrants should figure out anyone that jeopardizes a country, by claiming racism that doesn't exist should be suspicious at least. Ronald Regan Granted amnesty to illegals, Bush had Condalessa Rice as Secretary of Sate after that sell out Colin Powell, Bush did more for Africa than all Presidents Combined and Bush liberated 30 million men women and children of a totally different color and religion, Again our sons and daughter give there blood today protecting Afghanistan people from the Taliban, and we are trying to liberate them, what more than can we do than, for people that refuse to assimilate into as they say "White America". I say we stop the immigration process for a few months and get the Democrats out of there, and only except those that are coming here for the right reasons. Opportunity not hand out, and have a basic knowledge of Americas eccpetionalism.

I sense a lot of anger and frustration in you about immigration. Truthfully, lot of the frustration is genuine. But let us think God Father and keep the head cool. Smart moves need cool thinking. Alienating immigrants is not going to win the immigrants' hearts which will become increasingly important for Republican party, as population becomes increasingly mixed. There is no way of stopping that. Let us learn from history. Every part of the history of USA, one set of people tried to stop next wave of people, even while using the same people for doing unwanted jobs - Italian immigrants, Irish immigrants etc. at different times with the exception of blacks that were brought in forcefully.

Am I sounding too democratic? Far from it. Let us understand the issues instead of pointing fingers at "a set of people". The problem is big government that resulted in irresponsible spending. The problem is of not following rule of law which resulted in illgal immigration. The problem is racism which resulted in alienating a section of people towards a party that clearly has failed ideas and failed policies.

By the way, nobody is calling it "white america" except whites. I have tons of republican friend since I have been republican since I became a citizen. I can see the underlying feeling -- "How the hell did this country become so mixed in color?" Truthfully I can understand where they are coming from. They feel their WASP grandfathers built this beatiful country and the "rest" are enjoying the fruits. Well... the truth is they are right! The feeling is genuine! But it is too late undo it. Part of the mixing of color happened because of so called initial success in slave trade. So, instead of looking back, the best thing is to look into future.

The bottomline is, if only all whites get over these feelings, embrace LEGAL citizen as equal partners of society, and let them decide purely based on IDEAS rather than race, I am confident a super majority will pick capitalistic conservative ideas over lefist ideas that made half planet almost bankrupt!

By the way you are right about republicans helping minorities and poor countries more than democrats. I also support a temporary ban on immigration until things are back to normal and when it comes to illegal immigration.

I plan to bring as many Asian Indians into Republican party as possible. And Obviously I need lot of help from good hearted people like you to make them feel "wanted"!

Thank you once again.

Ven cool heads make a difference, first yes our immigration department is not screening properly, second illegal entry into our country is a security threat on many levels. Next you said " Let us learn from history" I suggest you dig a little deeper on this subject and become familiar with current evens. Yes you sound exactly like a Democrat on these issues.
Agree with comments up to your last comment which is simple not true and again shows your narrow minded view, (racism) or precieved racism by false charges from a democratic party, seeking to play on the fears of minorities to get elected into office?

By the way, nobody is calling it "white america" except whites. I have tons of republican friend since I have been republican since I became a citizen. You a suggesting in this paragraph you are a racist. As for a reference to "whites" embracing immigration, we always have, of any color or religion. Explain your bigotry Sir.

By the way you are right about republicans helping minorities and poor countries more than democrats. I also support a temporary ban on immigration until things are back to normal and when it comes to illegal immigration. I know!

I plan to bring as many Asian Indians into Republican party as possible. And Obviously I need lot of help from good hearted people like you to make them feel "wanted"! If you do I hope they have a better view of Americans and American history than you do, O but that's OK whats a few more to call us racist, and that no nothing about America and Americans. Why would they want to come to such a racist country as you suggest and as Democrats suggest. Yes I welcome them and I know in many cases they will subscribe to a belief in America such as yours, it's OK though Americans have been cleaning up this propaganda all along it comes with encouraging a multi race and religious nation and Americans support it.

Question to support Jan Brewer sp1070 and the building of the fence and securing the border?

Do you feel that people of this nation should have to present ID to register to vote? Birth Certificate, drivers license, something that proves citizenship.

Thank you once again.

WOW! Sounds like an uphill task but let me take a shot at this...

1) I never called America racist! Not in my thoughts not in my words! If it was racist, I would not be here, it's plain and simple, if I forget that I am either stupid or a traitor! I was suggesting that as a party Republicans should pickup issues that they can win! The good ideas of governance they already have. And become more inclusive to people who already "HERE" and you can not do anything by alienating us in spite of us believing in most of the party ideas.

2) On the one hand you say "we" always encouraged immigration and on the other hand you are saying we should stop immigration altogether. Am I missing something or are you confused on this one? On the one hand you are say ""WE built the country for 200 years" and on other hand you saying you ebraced all races. Who is this "WE" Sir? My simple request: stop looking at color of the skin start looking at the ideas. When you say "WE" you honestly did not have ideas in mind!

3) Sounding like Democrat? I really don't know what that means! I believe in smaller government, stroger security, English as core language, family values and most others that Republicans belive in. My asking that Republicans should be more inclusive makes me a Democrat, so be it! Does it mean Reagan was Democrat because he legalized millions? Or Bush a Democrat because he proposed immigration reform? I opposed Bush on this one but, I know he was trying to find a "practical" solution. He was not trying to be Democrat overnight!

4) You statement: If you do I hope they have a better view of Americans and American history than you do, O but that's OK whats a few more to call us racist, and that no nothing about America and Americans.

My answer: I understand and I agree.

5) You: This entire paragraph is beyond stupid, and insulting to America, it is factually incorrect and statements concerning the history of America are incorrect as well.

Answer: Facts are hard to swallow. It is fact since some of my frineds say that ALL the time on my face! One guy almost punched me on my face saying "Get out of my country, this belongs to whites!" As much as I hate to hear that on my face, I do see the point, but I say it is unnecessary to focus on something you can not win politically!

Paul, I know that very very few people say such things. But people need to get over this issue and focus on other bigger issues. I am not saying that "racism" is an issue! I AM NOT SAYING THAT. I am saying we should focus on real issues instead wasting time on "WE" people "THEY" people. Even minorities should stop whining about it. As political party, we need to somehow invite lots of "other" people into the party even while keeping core principles intact.

Your last two questions:
Building fence.. honestly I am on the fence on this one! I do want to stop illegal immigration. But fence sounds going too far. I really dont have an answer to this. But I do hate illegal immigration. Even if you had stopped legal immigration totally and I had not come here, nothing would have taken away the great respect I had for this great nation.

ID for Voting? : Hell, yeah!

One final note: I noticed the sarcasm and anger in your response again! Well, let me be clear I am not your enemy. I am not even your opponent politically. But I felt certain things that need to be fixed in the party to widen the base. Either I can keep quiet and pretend as if everything is right, or be honest about them and say it! By treating me like an enemy is only suggesting that I should get the hell out of this forum and shut my mouth! Or worse yet, follow rest of my compatriots to join Left party.

This paragraph ends once again calling the Republican Party racist, You said "alienating us". Who and How? could you explain your comment

"We" Americans as a whole encourage immigration/// I never said stop immaghration for ever, I said untill we fix the system, please don't say I said something I did not say. As for "WE" Americans Sir. as for your hangup on skin color, I have not injected it you did in the title to your post. Ideas in mind???? What do you think America is about, a border or an Idea????? You have non stopped talked about color or race, you no nothing about me, You do not know my color, race religion, birth origin, my political views, I have said American and you don't get it. I have said WE and you didn't get it. You said Republicans alienate certain people, and they don't, you offer bigotry and bias, without any facts or references, I am open to your ideas, as an American to an American, the rest of your racial beliefs are missleading to say the least.

Here you go again. when I said you sounded like a democrat I merely agreed with you saying you sounded like a Democrat, so then you give a long drawn out defensive speal LOL Van!
4) You statement: If you do I hope they have a better view of Americans and American history than you do, O but that's OK whats a few more to call us racist, and that no nothing about America and Americans. My answer: I understand and I agree. Great we have some agreement!!!! we should celebrate!
Ven The rest of your statements I can almost agree with, I would like to Arizona federal judge today in the 9th circuit, turned down Jans Appeal and the citizens appeal to prove citizen ship in Arizona upon registering to vote. You i hope ca begin to understand illegal immigration has nothing to with race haters on either side, Democrats use race to scare immigrants and illegal immigrants for votes, if they didn't need votes they wouldn't care less about immigration concerns.
"We" the People of This Country, believe in the laws and wish them to be obeyed, and we want the border secure, there is no reason for it not to be. Although it is not and has not been secure and it has caused many Americans to suffer because of illegal immigration, so we want illegals to identify themselves as they should, Once the border is secure, then we will workout what to do with millions of illegals, in a humain way, since after all it is also Americas fault, our fault they are hear as well.
Sounds like we both are beating around the bush here. Neither of us believe that party is racist. Let us agree to agree on that and leave it at that.

Personally I was ALWAYS welcomed even when I had heated arguments on certain issues. But, I wanted to focus on this sesitive issue because I see very few minorities either in party convensions or when I go to local meetings or when I see the floor of Congress on republican side. It bothers me when I see 90% blacks vote for Democrat as if they really believe in those ideas, 80% Indians and Chinese vote Democrat!!! If you talk to Indians personally 98% are republicans at heart. Maybe due to the success of the "divide and rule" by democrats! I feel proactive things are to be done to include more minorites into the party membership.

I mentioned it in the subject line because it was meant for my "folks" provoking them to think outside the box. It was my way of asking them to look at the ideas! But then first response was from you and my answers got us into more sensitive but irrelevant issues!

ALERT ALERT

SICK: Leprosy On The Rise In Los Angeles

Ahh, the joys of open borders and Democrat leadership.

California is not just a public toilet but now there is evidence that leprosy is on the rise in Los Angeles County.

Barack Obama changed US law in 2016 and allowed immigrants with blistering STDs and leprosy to migrate to the US.

Medscape reported:

Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, is rarely seen in the United States, but cases continue to emerge in Los Angeles County, a new report says.

“Hansen’s disease still exists, and we need to educate medical students and physicians,” coauthor Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa from Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, told Reuters Health by email.

Dr. Ochoa and colleagues identified 187 patients with the disease in a review of medical records from their leprosy clinic spanning 1973 to 2018. Most patients were Latino, originating from Mexico, and they experienced a median delay in diagnosis of more than three years, the team reports JAMA Dermatology, online August 7.

Multibacillary leprosy (MB) cases outnumbered paucibacillary leprosy (PB) cases by nearly eight to one (88.6% vs. 11.4%, respectively), and Latino patients were more likely than non-Latino patients to have MB, as were patients from Central or South America (versus other regions).

Most patients (80.7%) received multidrug therapy, and most (92.6%) received antibiotics for more than two years, especially if they had MB.

Only about half of patients (56.7%) had World Health Organization (WHO) grade 0 disability (no signs or symptoms suggestive of leprosy or disability) at the one-year follow-up, whereas 16.0% had grade 1 disability (loss of protective sensation) and 26.2% had grade 2 disability (visible deformity) at the last follow-up.

Among the patients who lost protective sensation, 87.7% (50/57) did not regain it following therapy.
