An organization has been kicked out of a fair held by the Lambeth Borough Council in the United Kingdom because it displayed the wrong values. It was pro-life.

According to the Catholic Herald, the organization called Life had arranged months earlier to take part in the event, similar to a county fair.

However, “when they arrived on the second day of the show they discovered their stall had been taken down before officials told their volunteers to leave. The show’s organizers said the council had decided to remove them because Life was ‘against the values of Lambeth Council’ and was ‘not in line with the causes the council has been funding and supporting.'”

The charity responded by describing the council as “authoritarian and discriminatory.”

Life says it has evidence the Lambeth Borough Council had granted it permission to attend the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park and accepted payment for its stall.

Lambeth Labour councilor Ed Davie later claimed on social media the stall “wasn’t officially allowed. They were not on the list of approved exhibitors, we tried to get them removed and will make sure not there today.”

He criticized the “plastic fetuses” the organization had on display.

His story wasn’t exactly right, Life said.

“We are able to provide confirmation of our official booking, payment and presence on the exhibitor list,” the organization’s statement said.

Spokeswoman Anne Scanlan added: “Nothing on our stall was offensive. There were life-like fetal models and pictures of the unborn baby at different gestational stages which can be seen on any pregnancy website including the NHS.”

She responded to Lambeth’s claim that Life is against their values.

“We are curious to know what these values are and look forward to hearing a fuller and more detailed explanation, and hopefully an apology from the council for the distress caused to our Life staff and volunteers,” she said.

Joe Biden On Violence Against Women:   We Have To Keep ‘Punching At It, And Punching At It, And Punching At It’

The audience laughed as he said this.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said that America needs to be “punching” back to combat violence against women during Wednesday’s Democratic debate.

Biden was asked if he would tackle specific issues regarding the #MeToo movement at the beginning of his presidency, if he were to be elected. The former vice president previously sponsored the 1994 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which aimed to protect victims of domestic violence.

The presidential candidate responded to the question about assaulting women by using the phrase “punching” repeatedly, apparently not thinking about the implications of using such a word.

“No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman in anger other than in self-defense, and that rarely ever occurs,” Biden said. “So we have to just change the culture, period, and keep punching at it and punching at it and punching at it. No, I really mean it.”

A few people laughed in the audience as he said this.

Biden added that it is important to pass the Violence Against Women Act, which has passed in the House and held up in the Senate. The former Vice President also suggested that America has to “fundamentally change the culture” of how women are treated, noting that it is “everyone’s responsibility.”

“It’s a gigantic issue, and we have to make it clear from the top, from the president on down that we will not tolerate it,” Biden said. “We will not tolerate this culture.”
