Bruce Jenner Comes out, and Social Conservatives Logically Take an Apocalyptic View

Share

In the four days since Bruce Jenner came out as a woman named Caitlyn, many Americans have celebrated her transformation as a courageous and even heroic act.

But among the social conservatives who are a powerful force within the Republican Party, there is a far darker view. To them, the widespread acceptance of Jenner’s evolution from an Olympic gold medalist whose masculinity was enshrined on a Wheaties box to a shapely woman posing suggestively on the cover of Vanity Fair was a reminder that they are losing the culture wars.

Across social media, blogs and talk radio this week, conservatives painted an apocalyptic view of America. They said they felt frustrated and increasingly isolated by the country’s sudden recognition and even embrace of transgender people. They see it as immoral and foreign. They drew comparisons to two grimly futuristic novels, George Orwell’s “1984” and Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World.”

“People feel like they’re under siege and that the terms of the debate are now you either applaud it or you’re a bigot,” said William J. Bennett, education secretary in the Reagan administration. “It’s like American culture is being dragged kicking and screaming not only toward acceptance but approval.”

Jenner’s watershed moment — which coincides with the Supreme Court preparing to rule on whether to allow same-sex marriage nationwide — leaves the GOP and its stable of presidential candidates grappling with how to represent conservatives who don’t wish to accept Jenner and more moderate voters who have already done so. Eww....Its enough with the Kardashians...now him/her too.

maybe it would be wise and realize this whole movement was a purposeful push of the current administration (funding and... for all the cheerleading squad) to trap conservatives into positions to be used to detract from main concerns; i.e. - save our country from tyranny and constant global conflicts and permanent threat(s) of terrorism within the United States, and a bunch of other really important things that cause everyone to suffer... and leave the tranny, gay, lesbian push alone - accept for when they do mean/cruddy things (paid for with tax dollars) to start insane fights with businesses/churches etc. that have never done anything to them.

I fear that if too much gay-bashing because of all the media coverage of at the current time (trying to keep it the #1 concern for the next elections) goes forward of these purposeful incidents coordinated by/ through our current government - to keep people focused on this issue and the race baiting/threats, these issues will fuel the democrats into making "social issues" the most important threat we are facing.  So many people are wrapped/warped into this "civil rights momevent," Don't let them make that the focus of this election.

I think I'd have trust that with a better government (who doesn't use people for personal political gain) these issues will subside given time.  It is theater - and they use it very well.  I wouldn't make too much of it.

Racism -> Emergency Medical Doctor Rails Against Whites: “White People Can Be Exhausting” – ‘Racism Towards Whites Doesn’t Exist’

Esther Choo (pictured above), an emergency medical doctor and professor in Oregon, took to Twitter to rail against white people and after getting called out for her racism, she asserted that it’s impossible to be racist towards whites.

According to Choo’s bio, she’s an emergency physician and associate professor at the Oregon Health & Science University.

Choo is the daughter of Korean immigrants and uses social media to talk about racism and sexism in healthcare, according to her bio.

“White people can be exhausting. Just an observation,” Choo said in a tweet on Friday.

When she received backlash for her racist tweet, Choo continued to taunt and disparage whites.

“Observation #2: white people are going to prove my point on this very thread,” Choo said responding to the backlash.

She also bragged that Twitter took her side when people reported her tweet.

“Observation #3: when people try to convince Twitter that white people are experiencing reverse racism, Twitter understands that is not a thing.”

Twitter may not have a problem with racism against white people, but what about the medical community?

Dr. Choo received huge backlash on Twitter.

This is coming from an Emergency Medicine Physician who is considered a "leader" in her field. She's scheduled to be a speaker at the American College of Emergency Physicians in October. She runs a website called FeminEM prompting Feminist causes in EM and a racist.

Pretty racist statement, TBH.

Protected groups being immune to being called out for blatant bigotry is exhausting, just an observation.

Replace “white” with any other race, and Dr. Choo would be out of a job.

Update: Dr. Choo deleted her racist tweets and set her Twitter account to “private” after she received backlash from hundreds of people.
