Baltimore Wants to Charge American Taxpayers for the $20 Million in Riot Damages

The recent rioting and unrest in Baltimore will cost the city an estimated $20 million, officials said Tuesday.

The expenses — which go before the city's spending board for approval Wednesday — include overtime for police and firefighters, damage to city-owned property and repaying other jurisdictions for police and other assistance.

Henry J. Raymond, Baltimore's finance director, said the city can temporarily cover the costs from its rainy day fund while seeking reimbursement for up to 75 percent from Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"The city remains on strong financial footing," Raymond said. "Hopefully, with the FEMA reimbursement, it will reduce the financial stress that we're under. In terms of the city's overall revenue structure, we're on firm footing and we'll move forward."

Both Gov. Larry Hogan and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake have requested federal aid.

Hogan has asked President Barack Obama to issue a disaster declaration so the city and state can be reimbursed for some expenses, officials said. Rawlings-Blake, meanwhile, encouraged city-based businesses to apply for aid from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Baltimore Development Corp.

They will get it.

Who is responsible for controlling their children's behavior ?  Hmmmmmm.    Who is responsible for controlling their own residents behavior ?   Hmmmmmm.    "STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES"      Eat it !!!!!!!!!!!

Two wrongs don't make a right... is the old saying. They have camera footage I am sure and they need to pick up these perps and put them on a chain gang to work and pay the cost of the damage they have done!

Don't park them in jail at tax payer expense. PUT THEM TO WORK!!

Right on Barry, that will probably kill half of them off.

I just retired from a 20 year career as a Work Release Crew Supervisor. My experience prior to that was 25 years in construction, which gave me the skills to become a crew supervisor. We worked 10 hour days and four days a week. I would take 10 inmates out of jail to perform a variety of capitol improvement projects throughout the county and sometimes out of county, from landscaping to small and large buildings. We also completed many restoration projects for State Parks. By allowing the inmates to pay back some restitution for their crimes by performing labor, I was able to pass on my skills to some that most likely would not have had the opportunity.  I was extremely blessed to have such a gratifying career and I still have people approach me in public that worked with me as far back as 20 years and still respectfully call me Mr. Smith.

Grab all those rioters as they are at it and send them back to clean and repair it; or go  hungry.

They will starve before they will work.

Lets see how this works?

You pay a bunch of people  money to start a riot so some quasi political statement can be made.

Then the rioters tear things up and half of them don't get the money they were supposed to get?

Then they start another riot to get their payout, so more unrest can be generated.

Then someone comes up with the bright idea to charge the government ( US PUBLIC )  for all the damage.

Sounds like Chicago has moved to Baltimore. A Federal and State investigation is in order under RICO statuate's not a federal payoff.

First fire the witch, then give her the bill, if she does not want to pay it, stick her a** in jail, I'm talking hard core fed max prison. Let her be some bodies die. What she did was give the rioters a free shot at their city. What major does this, she has no clue. So why is she getting paid?

Right on.

Bull-POOP !!!!

Let the mayor pay for her stupidity.

Gohmert: Dems Will Drag Out Impeachment — Try To Get ‘Best Socialist’ Nominated For President

During an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN on Thursday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) offered his best assessment of what House Democrats were trying to accomplish with their impeachment efforts.

Gohmert told WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show” impeachment could tie up the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign efforts but predicted Democrats would use the occasion to nominate “the best socialist” they can.

“They would lose in the Senate,” Gohmert said on impeachment. “And besides that, the entire time it was on trial in the Senate, the Democrats who are running for president wouldn’t be allowed to campaign. That’s in the Constitution. They wouldn’t be able to campaign. I just can’t imagine them wanting to do that because if they send it to the Senate, they have now perfectly set up the scenario of 1996, where they will reassure Donald Trump is reelected as president. They don’t want to do that. They’re probably going to drag this thing out as long as they possibly can … through Iowa, through primaries — try to get the best socialist they can to be nominated.”

“Then just end up and say, ‘Now we’re close enough to the general election. We’ve thrown mud at the president through the House,’” he continued. “What they’re really doing — they’re using taxpayer funds to campaign against Trump. That’s all this is — a campaign fund that taxpayers are paying for in order to try to throw mud at the president. I’ll be surprised if they have that vote, but I can’t imagine they want to set up this president for reelection by having a trial in the Senate where they lose.”
