During a meeting [two weeks ago], Air Force investigators read Liberty Institute’s client SMSgt Phillip Monk his Miranda rights, alleging that SMSgt Monk’s religious discrimination complaint was false. Monk, a devout Christian, believes the claims are a retaliatory act by his former commander, who relieved Monk of his duties and reassigned him after Monk could not agree with his commander’s position regarding same-sex marriage. In the military, making a false official statement is punishable by court-martial.
“I was stunned and immediately felt that this was a retaliation against me for coming forward with my religious discrimination complaint,” said Monk. The military prohibits retaliatory action against service members, when a complaint is filed against a commanding officer. The Air Force will decide as to whether or not to charge Monk with filing a false official statement.
“We are hopeful that the Air Force will do the right thing by clearing SMSgt Monk’s name and reputation, and supporting his and every Airman’s right to express, without fear of punishment, their religious convictions," said Liberty Institute attorney Mike Berry, whose organization will continue to defend Monk.
There must be a whole lot more gays than the .6% the statistics show. Why else are so many "heterosexual" politicians bending over backwards to please them. Seems to me a lot of them must be bending over forward in the privacy of their bedrooms.
You must not use the term "bending over" in the same sentence as the word "gay!" You know what I mean?
No I don't know what you mean , most forms of sodomy requires at least one participant to " bend over "
Joseph is being sarcastic about Secret Conservative being politically incorrect. But you have a good point. ;-)
SC- I' pretty sure they are bending over forward to please the gays who are more than willing to stand behind them. I have a son who is in the Air Force so i check with him to see how this discrimination against the christens is effecting him. so far he has seen little of it but feels it is coming hard and fast.
Because we all know what would happen, if these same heterosexual politicians bent over forward.
By the way, the reason I have to remain secret is my position in higher education. It's career suicide for any professor to defend traditional values in this brave new world. How ironic that the first Americans to lose their freedom of speech have been the educators.
Oh, I've got plenty of gonads, my friend. We who have not been absorbed into the Obaalzebub adoration society have to work smart. Someone has to stay on the ship and try to slow its sinking. People like me can do a lot more good for this country if we remain in our places and continue to influence the next generation for what's right. I can't influence anyone if I get canned. You have no idea how pervasive liberal thinking is now in university systems. People really do get fired just for stating right is right and wrong is wrong. I am tolerated because I have a good sense of humor and can smile nicely as I tell my department chairman he really does have a ringside seat in hell.
On some liberal site I'm cautious as one site, OpEdNews, released my personal info and I received credible death threats. Of course that site, run by Rob Kall who's a committed leftist, advocated that progressives show up at conservative officials' home to threaten them and was a force among the illegal Mexicans who shot at Lou Dobbs' home and in his firing from CNN.
So there're legitimate concerns about revealing identities. I've had many a strong disagreements on this site with some but only once have I seen a threat which was by a fanatical anti-Islamic who said he'd rape my children and grandchildren because I didn't favor rounding up, imprisoning, and deporting all Muslims, women and children too, including those who were law abiding natural born citizens.
