After Two Losing Bids, 'Romney '16' Gets Lukewarm Response from GOP Leaders

Image: After Two Losing Bids, 'Romney '16' Gets Lukewarm Response from GOP Leaders

Three days after Mitt Romney said “I want to be president” and revealed that wife Anne and other family members had dropped their objections to his making a third bid, several members of the Republican National Committee gave Newsmax what could at best be called a lukewarm response to a “Romney in ‘16” campaign.

As they prepared for their winter meeting in San Diego set for Jan. 15-17, many RNC members voiced a neutral stance on the presidential campaign and declined to comment on any of the potential candidates. Asked by Newsmax what he thought of another bid by Romney, California GOP Chairman Jim Brulte replied without hesitation: “I have no position on the 2016 presidential candidates.”

Other members, however, made it clear they preferred a fresh face for president in ’16 to Romney, their 2012 nominee against Barack Obama and also a losing candidate for the nomination in ’08.

Many privately believe that with Democrats at this time likely to nominate Hillary Clinton — who lost the nomination to Obama in ’08 and will be 69 at the time of the next presidential election — another nomination for Romney (who will be 67 in ’16) would mean loss of the “fresh face” advantage they would have against her with a younger candidate who has not sought the presidency before.

Winning his state gives the party 3 votes, did he even win his state hell no and when put up head to head with Cruz, he loses. Why not do this RNC. reverse the voting and put some of the Southern states, like Texas, first and then Iowa and New Hampshire, what to hell do they represent, nothing.

I love the man but I am also OK going with Ted Cruz. Just asking God to please, please, please not give us Jeb Bush!!!

Actually, I was hoping this time the nomination would go to a guy who could actually WIN!

But that's just me.

Romney. Just give it up, you had 2 shots. But I still would take him over Jeb Bush or Chris Christie. Wish they would focus more on getting through Congress defunding Amnesty, gutting Obamacare, securing our border, & cutting pork & spending.

The GOP want's someone like Jeb Bush Chris Christie or even Orin Hatch! This to me Equals=Obama!

Could the idiots STOP RUNNING  ALL RINO'S PLEASE? We do NOT, NOT, NOT, need a phony republican. We NEED a real Republican. Every time they run a damn RINO Republicans say WHY BOTHER to vote, AND they stay home.

I would expect a lot of you to disagree with me, that's alright, but I honestly believe we are at a very unique time in our history where a viable third party candidate would have a serious chance at winning. The Democrats are evil, the Republicans useless. We Conservatives have no where to turn to. If Allen West were to run in the Constitution Party, the Republicans and Democrats would crap their pants.  Does anyone remember Jesse Ventura? Nobody thought he could win either, but the electorate was fed up with the "mainstream" parties.

[IMHO] - These are some of the anxious individuals that we should dismiss,.....and then say, Okay, NEXT?!!

A great look at what would be wrong for our country.

I agree!  Be a much better debate  without large numbers of moderates & Establishment firing against the Conservatives.

Well I don't know. I need to run.

RNC and DNC think they are gods and are going to "select" people THEY want.   Romney's time has come and gone.  Now, he's just another RINO.

Pelosi Disaster!  95% Of Americans Tuned Out Impeachment Show Trials On Friday — Only The Second Day Of Testimony

Despite the constant hype Americans are already tuning out the sham impeachment trials.

On the second day of the public show trials 95% of Americans turned off the nonsense.

Americans are worn out by all of the fake news and hysteria.

Yawn: 95% of U.S. Adults Skipped Day 2 of Democrats' Impeachment Hearings

Yawn: 95% of U.S. Adults Skipped Friday’s Impeachment Hearings

Americans aren’t exactly obsessed with the Democrats’ impeachment hearings, it seems. Friday’s second day of live, wall-to-wall coverage drew an average of 12.7 million viewers on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN,

Flashback: Horrible News For Shifty Schiff – Majority Of Americans Don’t Want Impeachment, 76% Don’t Trust Dems And Believe Media Is Pushing The Sham

No One in American Wants Impeachment except the Far-left Socialist Democrats and their Corrupt Media. They hate President Trump because he is a winner. He beat them and he’s making America great again as he said he would.

The Democrats and their corrupt media are totally blinded by their rage and they don’t realize that no one is in favor of impeachment.

We reported a week ago that FOX News released a poll where they stated that 49% of Americans were for Trump Impeachment. But their polling was flawed. The real extrapolated results of the poll using an accurate proportion of Republicans, Democrats and Independents showed that only 30% of Americans are in favor of Trump’s Impeachment and they’re all Democrats.

Next, a few days ago we reported on another poll that was consistent with the results of our extrapolated FOX News poll.

Nearly three quarters of all Americans have little or no trust in the way that Schifty Schiff is running the impeachment process –

Heritage Action   Heritage_Action

You won’t hear this in the mainstream media: Nearly three fourths of Americans have little to no trust in the House Democrats’ handling of their impeachment process. 🤔

Today another poll was released with similar results.

Most Americans believe that the corrupt media is trying to help get President Trump impeached. Three-quarter of Republicans, half of independents and even a third of Democrats believe this to be the case. No one trusts Schifty Shiff or the corrupt media pushing his impeachment sham.

1- "Seventy-six percent (76%) of Republicans and a plurality (48%) of voters not affiliated with either major political party say most reporters are trying to help impeach Trump, a view shared by only 36% of Democrats."

Let's recast that last phrase

Rasmussen Reports @Rasmussen_Poll

Most Say Media Working With Democrats to Impeach Trump...

This is perhaps the worst gaffe in modern political history.

This Schiff Show does not have a happy ending for the Democrats. Even with the support of the entire corrupt fake news media, it’s a total sham and everyone knows it!
