A Major Obama Screw Up: Administration Forced to Suspend Program that Allow Illegals to Enlist in the Military

(Breitbart) - President Barack Obama’s administration has reportedly suspended a program it enacted via executive action last month that would allow recipients of Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to join the U.S. military.

According to a Thursday Politico report, Army officials confirmed that the MAVNI (Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest) program “has been suspended while the service tries to finalize screening procedures for the immigrants who want to enlist.”
Last month, the Obama administration, via executive action, expanded the program—which allows “foreign nationals with high-demand skills, mostly rare foreign language expertise, or specialized health care training”—to allow DACA recipients entry into the military. The Obama administration determined that MAVNI would now be ”open to immigrants without a proper visa if they came to the U.S. with their parents before age 16″ and received temporary amnesty through DACA in 2012.

In what has been described as a “a major bureaucratic screw-up by the Obama administration,” the program now has not been accepting new applications since “earlier this month.” An Army official conceded to the outlet that “procedures to enlist DACAs require additional coordination (not limited to security screening) which is ongoing at this time.” As Politico noted, the Pentagon “bars recruits who have family members without legal status,” but “almost all DACA recipients have relatives who are” illegal immigrants. In addition DREAMers who were brought to the country illegally also lack an I-94 card, which “is completed when foreigners enter the United States.” DACA recipients reportedly are unable to pass the ARMY’s “high-level security check” for MAVNI applicants.

The Obama administration apparently did not take these requirements into consideration before signing off on the executive action to expand MAVNI.

His next executive order will be a waiver on those requirements....

Thank God, someone has the guts to say NO to this all these illegal actions being given out to illegals to be involved in our National Defense. This is past the unbelievable stage.

If outright revolt were the only option available for Americans to take in order to attempt to restore  government to its Constitutional senses, then I would suppose that much work would have to be done in a very short time prior to any such attempt. First, an inventory of both people and means would have to be assessed. I am not an expert at anything that I know of, and certainly not in matters of a military nature. However, as things appear to be currently, there is no chance whatsoever of a revolution, an armed one, of having even the most remote chance of success. There are not enough people, nor are the means available even if there were, to force the government to change its clothes and begin acting in a manner in accordance with the reasons it came to be.

As Lincoln said, "If destruction be our lot, then it must come from within." I personally think he was right. It seems to be our lot and it is from our own negligence and refusal to mind the store that God gave us.

Secondly, the country would cease to exist. It would be national suicide to indulge in a second civil war or revolutionary one. The world is much different than that of 1776 or 1861. Americans fighting Americans would only result in advantage to foreign enemies and their ability to strike. And strike they would.

Humanly, Our best chance, in fact our only chance, of restoring the Republic must be through peaceful persuasion. And that seems so absurd when one realizes the magnitude of the task, even if it were possible, it isn't, time was sufficient, it is not, and the means were available, and that isn't either,  Even the voting booth has been compromised. The country is progressive. Not conservative. If it ever was a melting pot (it was not) it has melted into something alien to Christian principles on which it was founded. Who are we? What have we become or allowed to swallow our values and our regard for right and wrong. Look at the tea party topics for discussion. Do they reveal a healthy country?

I remember Nixon and him stating, " Let's talk about what's right with America!" Well, in a little over a week we will have another election. I can't help but wonder. Is our problem only the government, and if it is can it be corrected at the ballot box?

As Americans ....Do we just say ." Oh well , we're outnumbered , might as well give up." They were outmanned, outnumbered ,but they took a stand and didn't worry about the consequences...THEY, THE FIRST PATRIOTS , ONLY CARED ABOUT THEIR FREEDOM AND GETTING RID OF A CONTROLLING KING, WHY SHOULD WE FEEL ANY DIFFERENT ???? We save America at all costs because WE LOVE HER AND THOSE WHO DIED FOR OUR FREEDOMS WILL HAVE DIED IN VAIN BECAUSE OF OUR COWARDICE , IF WE DO NOTHING !!!!!!!!!! God gave us America, .....do we ignore that fact too ???

If you think that I am suggesting giving up, then I will tell you that I am not.

I am giving my view of options available as they seem to be currently and what we are up against should one or the other be advanced. My purpose in posting was to get others, who do have some military expertise, or political insight that makes sense, or religious opinions that do the same, to weigh in on what should be done and the odds of succeeding. That's all.

I have heard one member promote getting out with a petition campaign supporting previously vetted candidates in an attempt to force political parties to place them on the ballots, and then getting the people to vote them in.

Are there any other methods of restoring honesty and decency out there in regards to both the government and the people it serves? If so, I would like to hear them.

Dale,

I like your approach. We must explore all possibilities and assess their chances realistically.

In my humble opinion some of the most legal and conventional methods of opposition to an oppressive regime such as voting, campaigning, and peaceful protesting and petitioning have only a slight chance of success because of the very oppression this regime engages in. But as you suggest, we can't give up. We must explore all options on many fronts and use a mutli-pronged attack.

One I like, but which others have reticence about, is an Article V convention. Sadly there's a lot of misinformation put out about it such as it's a Constitutional Convention, it could result in a runaway convention, it could consider ideas not proposed by the States, or that it could be taken over by federal politicians such as those skallywags (couldn't resist it) in Congress.

Some here are advocating violence as they honestly believe there're no other options left. I understand their frustration and hope they're wrong, but we mustn't ignore that they could be right. We may have no other choice but to dust off the Declaration of Independence and take it to heart with a vengeance keeping in mind why Madison, Jefferson, and Justice Story said the 2nd Amendment was written.

So again, thanks for you excellent post.

Bob

Roberto, Thank you for the kind and understanding words towards comments made by me. Many others have voiced the same concerns. Some have not.

While I do not share your hope or enthusiasm respecting a States convention for the express purpose of amending the constitution, I do have a little hope that enough people have reached the point where they recognize that a restoration is needed, and that the ability to see that it does is dependent upon their participation in demanding that the government enforce the law of the land.

By the way. The Uzzi can be found at gunshows. Tulsa has the biggest and is held once or twice a year. Virtually all gun collectors and enthusiasts attend. My nephew has two of them, one for himself and the other for his son, and as of yet will not part with either one.

Dale, I think your caution is warranted. However, I was initially opposed to the Article V Convention approach, but Oren convinced me it would be one possible approach. My main concern about it would be the time it would take to convince enough States to approve it. But as I said, it's must be only one of several approaches.

Like you, I have some hope that a critical mass of people who realize that we need to get back to constitutional law is critical to the survival of the Republic will coalesce. Then at times I believe we'll need a cataclysmic event will be necessary to awake the people such as a collapse of the economy due to a down graded of the federal government's credit rating or a major federal government curtailment of our constitutional rights.

Oh, I've seen the Uzzi at gun shows but this disabled vet doesn't have the cash to buy one. So I've gotten an AR style rifle and a combat shotgun through our Base Exchange. My son would like an FN FS2000, but that's a little pricey.

Benito if you have the will you can do anything, and faith goes a long way, I am also a Veteran and like you I to will do what ever has to be done to save our country. And honestly I do not believe that our Military will turn against us when sh..t hits the fan.

Well said my friend.

Thanks. Like you I believe a lot of the military, including its leaders, will hold to their oath and not obey unlawful or immoral orders.

He's trying to help illegals...that 's called paying it forward because someone helped him get in this country illegally and then become Pres. illegally, so he has a lot to do to payback ! AND CONGRESS, WHO WORKS FOR THE PEOPLE.....DOES NOTHING .....AAAAMAZING !

What I do not understand is HOW can someone that is NOT an American and is in-fact is illegally here in country take an oath to uphold the laws and protect the constitution when they are already a criminal and not an American??? How do they do that?? How can they take an oath to a country they do not belong in, in the first place??

I asked my reps that question and to this day I have yet to get an answer. The answer is they cannot. And when the democrats had that little rally at the Mall when obama closed it to the military that also was against the law. And when obama drove them around in his limo again he broke the paw, so I guess no one now has to obey any laws in this country as if the congress does not have to along with the President then neither do we.

Breaking — West Virginia Lawmakers Invite Persecuted Pro-Second Amendment Counties In Virginia To Join Their State

West Virginia lawmakers introduced legislation to invite persecuted pro Second Amendment Counties to join their state.

The West Virginia Senate adopted a resolution to remind Virginia residents from Frederick County that they have a standing invite — from 1862 — to become part of West Virginia.

West Virginia freedom fighters broke away from Virginia Democrat slave owners during the Civil War.

This week West Virginia has once again invited persecuted Virginia pro 2-A counties to come join their state.

Sounds like a winning plan!

Resolution 8 reads as follows:

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 8

(By Delegates Howell, Summers, Shott, Householder, C. Martin, Hott, Graves, Cadle, Barnhart, J. Jeffries, Maynard, Phillips, Foster, Hamrick, Steele, D. Jeffries, Wilson, Waxman, Bartlett, Paynter, Linville, Sypolt, Bibby, Hill, Ellington, Higginbotham, J. Kelly, Mandt, Pack, Dean and P. Martin)

[Introduced January 14, 2020]

Providing for an election to be had, pending approval of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a majority of qualified citizens voting upon the proposition prior to August 1, 2020, for the admission of certain counties and independent cities of the Commonwealth of Virginia to be admitted to the State of West Virginia as constituent counties, under the provisions of Article VI, Section 11 of the Constitution of West Virginia

Whereas, The Legislature of West Virginia finds that in 1863, due to longstanding perceived attitudes of neglect for the interests of the citizens of Western Virginia, and a studied failure to address the differences which had grown between the counties of Western Virginia and the government at Richmond, the Commonwealth of Virginia was irretrievably divided, and the new State of West Virginia was formed; and

Whereas, Such division occurred as the Trans-Allegheny portions of Virginia perceived that they suffered under an inequitable measure of taxation by which they bore a disproportionate share of the tax burden; and

Whereas, That this perception was further compounded by the effects of a scheme of representation by which Trans-Allegheny Virginia was not allowed to have its proper and equitable share of representation in the government at Richmond; and

Whereas, That this arrangement arguably resulted in the tax dollars of Trans-Allegheny Virginia being used to enrich the Tidewater through internal improvements which did not benefit the people of Western Virginia, while the people of the Trans-Allegheny had little to no say in how their tax dollars were allocated; and

Whereas, Though this course led to an irreconcilable division, and the subsequent formation of West Virginia, yet, the longstanding peaceful cooperation between this State and the Commonwealth of Virginia is a sign that such separation, undertaken even under the most challenging and onerous of circumstances, can, with the passage of time, yield lasting results which are beneficial to both sides; and

Whereas, In the intervening years, the same neglect for the interests of many of the remaining counties of the Commonwealth of Virginia has allegedly been evidenced by the government at Richmond; and

Whereas, Particularly, many citizens of the Southside, the Shenandoah Valley, Southwestern Virginia, and the Piedmont contend that an inequitable measure of taxation exists by which they bear a disproportionate share of the present tax burden of the Commonwealth; and

Whereas, The people of the Southside, the Shenandoah Valley, Southwestern Virginia, and the Piedmont also believe that, currently, a scheme of representation exists by which the citizens of Southside, the Shenandoah Valley, Southwestern Virginia, and the Piedmont do not have a proper share of representation in the government at Richmond; and, consequently

Whereas, The people of the Southside, the Shenandoah Valley, Southwestern Virginia, and the Piedmont believe that their tax dollars are used to enrich the Tidewater and Northern Virginia through internal improvements which do not benefit the people of these other parts of Virginia, while the people of these other parts of Virginia have little to no say in how their tax dollars are allocated; and

Whereas, In recent days, these tensions have been compounded by a perception of contempt on the part of the government at Richmond for the differences in certain fundamental political and societal principles which prevail between the varied counties and cities of that Commonwealth; and

Whereas, In the latest, and most evident, in this string of grievances, the government at Richmond now seeks to place intolerable restraints upon the rights guaranteed under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution to the citizens of that Commonwealth; and

Whereas, The Legislative body of West Virginia believes that this latest action defies the wise counsel which has come down to us in the august words of our common Virginia Founders: as the government at Richmond now repudiates the counsel of that tribune of liberty, Patrick Henry-who stated to the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788 that “The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun”; and

Whereas, The government at Richmond now repudiates the counsel of a Signer of the Declaration and premier advocate of American independence, Richard Henry Lee-who stated in The Federal Farmer that “To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms”; and

Whereas, The government at Richmond now repudiates the counsel of that zealous guardian of our inherent rights, George Mason-who stated that “To disarm the people…[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them”; and

Whereas, The government at Richmond now repudiates the counsel of the declaimer of our independence and theoretician of our freedoms, Thomas Jefferson-who stated in his first draft of the Virginia Constitution, that “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms”; and

Whereas, The Boards of Supervisors of many Virginia counties and the Councils of many Virginia cities have recognized this dangerous departure from the doctrine of the Founders on the part of the government at Richmond; and

Whereas, These Boards of Supervisors and Councils have passed resolutions refusing to countenance what they affirm are unwarranted and unconstitutional measures by that government to infringe the firearm rights of Virginians; and

Whereas, The actions of the government at Richmond undertaken since the recent general election have, regrettably, resulted in unproductive contention and escalating a lamentable state of civic tension; and

Whereas, That, as has been proven in numerous instances, such as have been observed internationally in more recent times with the peaceful dissolutions of Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union, and the creation of South Sudan, or, earlier in Virginia’s own history, with the formation of Kentucky, the peaceful partition of neighboring peoples can occur, and, is often very beneficial to both sides in reducing tensions and improving the tenor of discourse over ongoing political and societal differences; and

Whereas, Article VI, Section 11 of The Constitution of the State of West Virginia explicitly permits additional territory to be admitted into, and become part of this state, with the consent of the Legislature and of a majority of the qualified voters of the state; and

Whereas, In a spirit of conciliation, the Legislature of West Virginia hereby extends an invitation to our fellow Virginians who wish to do so, to join us in our noble experiment of 156 years of separation from the government at Richmond; and, we extend an invitation to any constituent county or city of the Commonwealth of Virginia to be admitted to the body politic of the State of West Virginia, under the conditions set forth in our state Constitution, specifically, with the consent of a majority of the voters of such county or city voting upon such proposition; and we hereby covenant that their many grievances shall be addressed, and, we further covenant with them that their firearms rights shall be protected to the fullest extent possible under our Federal and State Constitutions; and

Whereas, Providing that the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia shall give its assent to any county or independent city presently part of the Commonwealth of Virginia having the opportunity and ability to do so, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia.
